Actually they are playing Bowie's "Look back in anger" in the beginning and in the end of the song. You can find the late 80s remake of this song with the exact arrangement. Anyway, never knew that writing of the song Outside started during the Tin Machine era, cool!
Yes, I qued overnight for tix to this concert at National Ballroom as well. Tix were on sale at the Dominion Theatre on a Sun morning (where "we will rock you" is now showing). Was a good atmosphere in the que, many people playing rare Bowie bootlegs on portable 'cassette machines'
Wow! Way cool to hear a great song germinating. I love the version on Outside, but I also like this early version a lot. Has that great, anarchic, restless, Tin Machine energy. Thanks so much for uploading this!
Look Back in Anger segues into Outside...then back again. Very interesting archive. I've watched Tin Machine archive on and off for years but this never turned up.
OMG I’m so happy I found this. I was here!!! I was the third person in...so magnificent. He played Baby Can Dance for me(because I yelled it out) one of my greatest Bowie memories. Thank you ⚡️✨🥰
WOW What a fantastic find. Kilburn national ballroom. I remember queing 2 days for tickets from some theatre in London. Great gig, stood next to Fergal Sharkey for the whole gig. Thanks for the memory.
hey piggystardust, i was at Newport too!!! I was the young lad at the front of the que who qued four days for tckets!! Did we meet? what a show it was too
Bowie's very short lived progressive rock period. When I say that, I'm talking about him doing this song only. Would have been great to see him to a collab with chick corea, dream theater, al di meola or the like.
Big mistake not going to Kilburn as this seems the superior gig in London ( I went to the Forum , then called The Town &Country Club ) . They didn't play this at the Forum or Sorry , with Bowie in vocals!

it's not backwards it IS 29.6.89 because it is the 29th of June(which is the sixth month) 89 and makes more sense, day shortest then month, then year, incidentally since the English language was born in ENGLAND it is YOU who have it the wrong way!
This was such a great period for live Bowie, he's obviously having so much fun, and to see him in the smaller venues again is precious beyond words

little did the people who were present know that they were witnessing the whole Outside project taking shape .lucky people
Oh. I did not know that the title outside was made with tin machine. That is very interesting. Outside is one of my favorite album.

Very cool it has the intro sound they used when they updated "look Back In Anger: and of course the great intro to the cd "Outside".. Excellent!

I was there.
Thanks You very much for this video!
Really great stuff. I would have loved another TM album.
Tin Machine was great and got Bowie out of his late 80's slump.
Great TM era
This is fantastic! Thank you for this.
Awesome! I have this in audio never seen a video. Thanks for uploading.

Wow...definitely a rare clip!
Großartig! Many thanks!
Wow, I really like it. So similar, yet so different.
Great posting, didn't realise Outside had TM origins.
Tin Machine sounds pretty good, why all the flak?
Really great one, thanks for sharing !!!
Great find. Also is definitely very rare. If you have it on dvd then it is definitely unofficial.

day - month - year. They increase in length, so it makes perfect sense: seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, years. Logical. yes.
exactly!
fun fact: Goodbye Mr. Ed was supposed to be in Outside again. A re-recording.
Sorry mate, it ws London, done some research and yip its not Bradfod as i earler expected!!!

Yeah mate Definately Bradford
Are you sure this is Bradford ? I don't remember the red sweatshirt but I do remember they started the gig with this one .
Audio-Video seems out of sync.
hi all, e very nice one BUT it is not that rare as i have the complete show on dvd....:)
Snipertje
...shame it's a bit out of sync.

He was coked during this performance.
@MATTDAY its 6-29-89......wth do you brits insist on writing the date halfass backwards?!
Day followed by week, then year, seems the logical progression to me.
David Hard rock!
@neostriderbzk in a way outside is like a graze of heavy metal (hard rock(tin machine) and the dark stuff)
@leonakita its a different country probably. thats why.
@noexpectations1 same crap is happening to metallica!
sounds like moves like Jagger chorus line by maroon 5 at the beginning!
