As a huge dragon ball fan, it surprises me how many iconic attacks-drunken fist, afterimage, the double chop he used on krillin-are mixed into his basic strings. It’s awesome!
Being an og dragon ball fan, I’ve always loved roshi’s character and thought it was super cool when he fought (him as jackie choon and when he fought red ribbon on his island) so when i saw he was announced i was hoping he’d be getting justice and. Boy was i served.
I may watch other DBFZ channels for their dailys but Max keeps me coming back for them big brain routes. @Maximilian I know you say there are players way better then you and I’m sure that’s true but I have yet to find a content creator who breathes as much fun and skill into a genre of games that I have neither in. Keep up the fantastic work and I hope your family is staying safe during all the crazy✌🏼
Looks like Roshi can definitely hold his own if he was the last man standing on his team. Or even as a starter. It's just someone you have to discover in the lab. And from what I'm seeing, he's going to be a pain to deal with, but a blast to use. He may even be the best human character compared to Krillin, Yamcha, and Tien. But that's expected, since after all...he is the Master.
This is the being that the gods calls Master the human that can shoot a kame hame from earth to moon (30 earths away) without loosing power and destroys it and got about 4 oponents down in the tournament of power i love that they make him a good character in this game and not a joke one.
What I think is going on is that arc sys got alot of people new to fighting games using Dragon Ball and with a passion and the more seasons they release, they'll become familiar with the fighting controls by playing a certain character that was recent Smart af.
Complete vindication for Master Roshi. He is totally the Gen of this game; extremely hard and technical to use, but in the right hands is a complete wrecking machine.
As a lifelong Dragonball fan I can say with absolute confidence that if he were as strong as Ultimate Gohan no one could touch Master Roshi, not even Kaioken 20x SSB Goku. He EARNED the rank and title of Master for a reason, the episodes of him fighting in the TOP are the best Master Roshi has been since the old King Piccolo arc in Dragonball. And I loved how in the English Dub of DBS when he was dodging punches from some huge guy he said the Konami code of “up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right” while he was tip toeing around the dude.
I'll never get this good but it's so nice to watch good players play and hearing all the jargon. I was getting good when it first came out but I lost the commitment.
I wonder if its intentional: He is an old martial artist. He might not be as powerful as everyone else, but what gives him the edge is supposed to be battle experience and pure skill. So, they made his character appeal to FG veterans, people who are experienced enough to discover and master all that he has to offer.
Under his quirky perverted exterior, Roshi is possibly the most skilled fighter in Dragonball Z. He lacks the power of a majority of the main fighters but can keep up a bit with just his knowledge of fighting. I also love how in older games, most of the fighters have Kamehameha but Roshi's is named 'The Original Kamehameha' and it's slow and more subtle in his movement.

@@TellemG He is, but he's more than just that is what I'm saying. Perv or not, he is far stronger than people give him credit.
Seeing max this happy playing a character on dragon ball makes me happy
Bro, this got me to sub to you. The hardest to pick up character and you just come in after dropping the game and you out here doing ToD's
8:31 could it be that they did that un purpouse because Roshi is pretty much the closest to a normal human out of everyone in Dragon Ball?
As a huge dragon ball fan, it surprises me how many iconic attacks-drunken fist, afterimage, the double chop he used on krillin-are mixed into his basic strings. It’s awesome!
Max is truly the Master Roshi of the FGC, played Fighting Games so long he easily map the gameplay of Roshi and Sparkless TODs OF ROSHI in a Stream
i just got this game and it pushes my fat brain to its limits
Being an og dragon ball fan, I’ve always loved roshi’s character and thought it was super cool when he fought (him as jackie choon and when he fought red ribbon on his island) so when i saw he was announced i was hoping he’d be getting justice and.
Boy was i served.
I love the lil previews at the start of the videos.
Roshi feels like an SNK character accidentally stumbled into Dragonball Fighterz.
Well, he has the Iori kick so that's too much coincidence.
Holy shit, its like they made Roshi JUST for Max based on that intro!
Jeebus Chris, I didn’t know Roshi had it like that.
Everytime I watch your videos I go back to dbz fighters and the muscle memory never kicks in, your a damn god!
Seeing Max returning to FighterZ with so much excitement makes me so frickin' happy. I'm glad he's enjoying the game once again.
Can you imagine a Roshi, Yamcha combination.....with Videl?
Dr. Maximilian back in the lab. Today's a good day.
Seeing Max having fun labbing in this game is the best thing in DBFZ
1:50 YES YES YES thank God bandai watches Max, hopefully they listen.
"This is what experience looks like", a very fitting line.
And boom just like that master roshi shits on all dlc
This game is so fire omfg
This is what Mvci failed to do
Max you are talented dude. Hope to see more of you enjoying this game
those who hated roshi are those who never learned the turtle hermit style
For some reason, Roshi’s corner stuff reminds me of Doctor Doom 😭😭😭
10:59 combe had me like "JESUS F'ING CHROIST!" LOL love your content Max
Him having all these crazy combos and nuances does wonders for his character as an Old Martial Arts Master
Maximillian roshi tearing the lab up nice vid man
This is the being that the gods calls Master the human that can shoot a kame hame from earth to moon (30 earths away) without loosing power and destroys it and got about 4 oponents down in the tournament of power i love that they make him a good character in this game and not a joke one.
This man really picked up the character and got optimal in like a few hours 😶
I gotta learn that one at 9:00. I already run him with S Broly. Roshi is my favorite fighter.
What I think is going on is that arc sys got alot of people new to fighting games using Dragon Ball and with a passion and the more seasons they release, they'll become familiar with the fighting controls by playing a certain character that was recent
Smart af.
They made Roshi feel like an actual fighting game character instead of a Fighterz character and that's amazing.
I'm happy that they decided to make goku's master into an interesting and difficult character
Roshi looks like so much fucking fun.
5:16 the Jojo Josuke Pose
That was a DOPE intro, with the "teaser" before the music intro
I'll never get this good but it's so nice to watch good players play and hearing all the jargon. I was getting good when it first came out but I lost the commitment.
Max you are so. Naturally good
No one:
Broly: RUAAAAAARAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
I wonder if its intentional: He is an old martial artist. He might not be as powerful as everyone else, but what gives him the edge is supposed to be battle experience and pure skill. So, they made his character appeal to FG veterans, people who are experienced enough to discover and master all that he has to offer.
Bro I'm scared to go back to rank, i gotta get my head in the game now
Roshi looks hype as all hell. This has got me wondering how dope the next characters are gonna be.
Roshi would be the character who doesn't look like much at first, but secretly does the craziest crap XD
A cool looking optimal combo with high damage: *Exists*
Max: - I'M GONNA KILL WITH THIS SHIT!
this character turns out pretty sick, i didnt wanted him at first but i have to say, great job!
8:30 "he's like a normal fighting game character instead of a dragonball character" sick burn that's also true and why I stopped playing fighterz
