It was not the right choice. That kid might not have been exemplary but he was visibly extremely scared.
And he had plenty reasons, hundreds of children die in abusive therapy camps each year, he must have known since he kept screaming about how he was going to die. Forcefully kidnapping and taking him there in the middle of the night was the worst thing anyone could have done for him. I don’t understand how anyone can be that cruel, that was not a thing anyone should go through regardless of how problematic they are.
I was with him for 7 months. I know a 13 y/o that got ra*%ed a the same place we were at. A kid who tried to khs etc. shi was so dark and bleak I hope he’s doing better

I haven’t seen this story, but it’s not that simple. Some experiences outside of parenting can cause behavioral issues like this. Sometimes genetics have a role in your anger etc, and think about it from the moment you turn 5 or so you by law spend 8 hours a day from home.
Sometimes it's actually not the parents but instead the outside influence. My brother was just like this. He has multiple mental issues so no matter what my parents did they never got through to him.

For real. A lottery chance was their last resort. Should've been their first. I didnt see whatever this kid did but ima go out on a limb here and say he probably didnt have too bright of a future without some kind of intervention.
I do think putting your child in front of a tv show that everyone could see would have a huge drawback. Like all your relatives, friends and etc will look at you differently. Having Dr.phil as a last resort isn't a smart idea but it certainly shouldn't be your first either.
