I’m in Australia and there are no physical skate stores within 1000km of where I live so only online purchasing is available to me, which makes me hesitant when trying to choose the right style and size but your video had been super helpful for getting me on the right track 👍🏼
My new skater experience confirms that a loose boot is terrible. But my most frustration comes from soft wheels. Most breaking techniques require slides. And it's real hard to slide with anything less than 90a wheels. I can't find buget 110 mm wheels over 90a.
I wasn't able to slide for *years* and I thought it was just a super hard skill! Turns out, it's next to impossible if your wheels are too soft. I think 88a is fine enough though. Haven't tried harder than that yet.
good points i havent seen in any other video, i like how you mentioned that hard boots are more worth it if you buy a cheaper boot, and that the wheels and bearings that come with the skates are just fine. i was putting too much emphasis on these areas when looking to buy my first skates, so thanks :)
Wow I learned alot from this short video. Ive hockey skated before but i think it has the same basics. Looking into purchasing the AEON 80 for better stability since im a bigger guy. Thank you!!
I got my Impala in-line rollerblades in the flame color and have a 3 month warranty on them I’d love to see you add the flames as one of the detachable frame types I’d return them for the ones you upgrade
Hey! very informative video. For a beginner would you recommend inline or quad skates? I've heard that quad skates have better control but I want to really try inline ones as it has better speed and movement. I have never skated before. Will I be fine if I start with inline ones?
Hey you guys must be having fun because in my country one of those cost an arm. With the price of those skates i could buy a used car ready to drive in my country and i'm still currently trying to save for one either ways.
Seems like inline skating is more popular in Europe and Latin American rather than America. It sucks because I live here in America and there are not very many Americans making skate videos.
Nice! Goede uitleg.
I had a pair of Bauer FX1s, got them when I was 11 and I wore them all the way to college last time I wore them I was 23, I loved them so much but my feet would be so sore 😂 I wish I could get the same pair again but my size now
I use to blade when I was a kid I was pretty good I want to start again I was 12 I'm 32 now lol but idk what I should order I live in northern California 🤔
Anyone know where to find wheels that are soft and narrow shaped for rinks that fit K2 aggressive skates? A local skate shop used to have some in a big bin for cheap but they're long gone and I can't find them online.
Good afternoon this is Tim from Australia. I currently ride swell power slides 110s. However I want to feel more grounded and stable and would like your opinion on whether I should choose 80mm or 90mm wheels. I have general flat areas around us etc and my preference is 80mm but what do you think? Thanks Tim
This is a very well made and to the point video. Very Dutch!! Thanks for posting this. Question - I was an intermediate skater some 20 years ago. I used 84mm and had very good control. Would 100mm be too hard to control/unstable for someone who is comming back to skating? I am interested in fitness skating (not for freestyle, tricks, etc). I saw a pair or 100mm (3 wheels) with rear brake. Probably 90mm would be better to get back into skatting, but I don't want to spend US300 now and six months from now regret not going for the larger size. If 100mm is too large now, maybe also buy a set of 90 mm wheels and start skating on those until I remember how to skate? What I remember from skating is that wheels will wear out. Sorry for the long question Thanks!!
My feet are too big unfortunately I can't be picky when it comes to a boot type... just bought a set of powers like swells... yeah they feel a bit wobbly but it'll be okay I don't plan on doing trick skating I'm too damn old for those shenanigans... roller skate date nights with the wife at a rink will be probably as daring and exciting as it gets... healing takes to long at my age so...
I am a beginner and I have a question. I want to change my 72mm wheels to 100m but the frames have a max of 72mm wheels. Do I have to buy a new frame? If so, how do I know what frame will fit in my boots?
When you compare 80 or 90 to 100mm, does it cost less effort to skate on low speed when you have 100mm? I have chronic fatigue disease and want skate on low speed on asphalt roads, but with as little effort as possible. Does 100mm have and advantage above 80/90 in this case? Or give they only more instability?
I just trained Power slides with my skates for about 1h on low/medium rough asphalt surface. I have 84mm 80A wheels, they look like hexagons now because of the power slides. What kind of wheels do I need if I Powerslide a lot?!
i have a question can you grind whit the side of your inline skates (normal inline skates, no aggresive ones) and can you got to the skate park with them?
grinding would be very hard on any regular skate. Its possible if you are Erik Droogh. More information about this topic is in this video ua-cam.com/video/JdoQEjfjKds/v-deo.html
Hi I wanna buy a frame for slalom+one wheel slalom(that is my top 1 priority) + freeride (I am a 55 kg men) ---fr 4d rockered OR fr deluxe v3 rockered--- I worry about 4d frame that made from aluminium 6000 and i scare about (couse it's not aluminium 7000) how is that reasonable for slalom and one wheels to ride on alum7000 opposite to 6000? Does it have aluminium7000 influence for control and response wich is really matter at slalom or it just like aluminium 6000 (same effect)? (i'm from Ukraine and have a money problem soo couldn't test it by myself and only have in stock a FR 4D frame soo if i need to buy fr deluxe v3 it could be a problem with shipping and money (it's really important for me couse war helps me understand that i relly love rolls and slalom and now it's my life)) Ty for your time
i got myself Roces Icon 80 recently, 1 size bigger than my shoezise, i kinda feel this fckd me over as in my foot still being too loose sometimes. ( or this just might be my skating being bad). Now i discovered all these types of skates and i kinda wanna try them all out
Is it possible that my skates have deformed over time? They were great at the start and I used them almost every day but I slowly stopped using them because it started to hurt en cause bruises. When I stand still on them, the side of the wheels are turned to the inside, so I can’t stand straight. They were only €80 adult size so maybe it’s the quality?
80 euro skates are the worst and can for sure deform like you just describe. In dutch we say " goodkoop is duurkoop" meaning you end up paying more in the end if you go too cheap. There are no decent skates below 150 euro
Are there skates with more rounded and wider toe boxes for people with wider feet or if we don't want to get bunions or trying to correct bunions?? I am frustrated with how hard it is to find wide toe box shoes, let alone skates. Any brands out there??

Ahh, how is the outback going 🤣 you're technically still just down the road from the nearest store.
You don’t have rebel sports or anything near you?
Rebel only has the one brand of skates@@OmgImAlexis
Such a useful video in 7 minutes. I have looked at so many others, but this one is very helpful! Thanks

Thanks Marvin! See you soon in the new shop!
Very good! I plan to stop by and learn more about the higher-end one-piece skates you mentioned that have no liner to take out.

this is one of the most insightful inline skate channel on UA-cam; including mine.
I’m thinking of getting roller blades and this video is really helping me decide which one I should get

super legendary video I wish u had a shop around the corner, then I would own some sick blades!
Great info. However, what is the brand for wide feet with high insteps?
These Ai videos are getting really advanced.

Amazing video, tells everything what needs to be told in a small timeframe
Thank you very much for all your time and effort for making this useful video. I really appreciate it.
Great video. I will definitely come in your store when I will get the chance to visit Amsterdam. Thank you for video.
Thank you. Informative and concise, beautiful store too.

Inline skates are a bit harder side to side. And quad skates are harder to balance front to back. If you want to try inlines, start there.
Great video. Tempted to book a flight to Amsterdam after watching this.
Go for it!
Looks like I gotta go to Amsterdam now! Thank you, bro 🎉

What brand and model are you holding at @2:10 I really like that style of boot.
Urban and fitness ones too!!

Does anybody know what brand of skate that is @3:30 (also in the thumbnail) when he's talking about softboot vs hardboot?
I see you're using the powerslide next boot. Any tips for pressure point in the right boot? I've injured my ankle because of it
