my GSD does this a lot shes 15 week old she even does it while out walking
what would u do with a staffy that bit its tail of to a short size, definitely opsession???
Help, my dog keeps chasing her tail and its bleeding. Shes been doing it for years. We. thought she would stop later when she wasnt a puppy, but at 5+ years old she still does it. She bit almost all her hair of it.
Adono 658 same my dog in my profile pic has been biting his tail for years now and he is 7 years old he loudly bites his tail and bleeds with sleepless nights and idk what to do you can try calming pills I really hope that helps even though it’s been 2 years
See if you can attach something to his tail.. If not maybe you need to do what I dread, and that's having his tail removed
I am 100% sure some dogs don't realise their tail is part of them and think it's separate thing
Remove the tail!
I'm just kidding.
So what you’re saying is that we don’t know. Thanks.
to be fair he said that at the start himself we don't really know..we just guessing..try listening why listen to the whole video if you didn't hear the start?..he said its just a guess
i have a neighbour who puts her 'neglected' dog outside and it chases its tail and barks CONTINUOUSLY for hours on end, day after day. Is this dog insane? Should I report it as animal neglect/cruelty. I mean, it's literally hours and hours at a time and is driving me and other neighbours nuts.
I seam to be a lack of socialisation with other dog
So my dog just crying and chasing it but he wont bite it?? Someone know why this is??
My dog loves chasing her tail and she always smiles when she's done. And my picture is actully my dog
YZ85 Goon lmfao your dog is a motorcycle?
Lol what is your pic now
@@bryami9736 I think its Obama's character on the Plants of the Apes. 😂😂
FineDiamond21 has a
Lol obama is your dog?
Thank you. Gish I'd like to be kept by a pet however, I don't plan to be kept for long. All good cats and dogs must be fostered to no kill shelters or I get grouchy at them for holding me. Its a point to point goal.
My dog hates when people touch their tail and chases it occasionally, why?
My 2 year old German Shepherd does this every single day for 20-30 minutes multiple times a day. Even when he’s panting very very hard he’ll still do it. It’s so annoying because he’s so loud when he does it and the banging on the floor. Even if I run with him for an hour outside, we’ll come back up and the first thing he does is chase his tail. I can’t stand it anymore.
Vet will cut it off
Same!! Have you taken him to the vet??
Because some dogs don't recognise their tail as their tail... They think their tail is a thing...
My dog barks at his tail telling his tail off thinking his tail wants to share his bone
Had enough of attaching everything to psychological disorder🙄🙄🙄😔😴
They just do
When my dogs goes crazy she and he chases their own tails.
Hi Pete The Vet.... I Recently Read That Some Dogs Have A Form Of Animal Autism That Makes Them Do It.... What Are Your Thoughts.... Or Anyone Else Reading This.
My Chihuahua has been doing it super aggressively for almost 2 years (every single freaking day!). It sounds like a massive dog fight. His tail is always bloody (sometimes his bed gets all bloody too! Not even a cone helps. He is clearly scared after doing it. Gets very aggressive towards us too. Took to different vets and behavior specialists. Tried tiring him out, foundation training, different medications, special dog food that helps with cognitive issues, creating routines! Nothing works. I'm afraid we're gonna have to put him down =(
do what you feel is right for him. if that means putting him down, then so be it. no one wants to lose a pet, but we also don't want our pets to suffer.
My dog has been doing the EXACT same thing but I haven’t gone to the vet yet but I WILL SOON sleepless nights omg! Please update me on your dog I don’t know what my dog will need. And I don’t want to put him down.
Can’t you just have the tail removed instead of putting him down?
@Elvira my rotti is 7 months, and chases his tail aggressively, sounds nasty, he mostly does it a feed time
Wilfred already answered why dogs chase their tales and dig. They’re searching for the truth
my right ear hated this
Because of boredom ?
My dogs braks and barcks
My Chihuahua chases his tail but when he catches it gets happy and tries to run like he has a stick in his mouth which of course don't work.
Then he tries again.
I cheer him on and when he gets it praise him.
It's damn funny.
I noticed dogs chase there tails to the right.❓🤔
FakeJake brought you here...
4 month AUssie Doodle...periods of time...obsessed with chewing (actually sucking till soggy saliva soaked!!) Nothing has worked to stop him. He KNOWS it irritates me!! I say LEAVE IT...say SIT...he SITS..I give him a treat....THen he repeats...thinks that when he grabs his tail.. Mommy will give him a treat!!!!!! repeat repeat...Ughhhhhhh HELP!!!
He loves his kiko....
I think it's black and white and you did say it but your beating around the Bush
If a dog excessively chases it's own tail and bites ect it is becauss they are not walked and are bored sh*tles un-cared or unloved/ neglected These dogs are depressed. Show t he more attention and take them out regularly. My dog has never chased his tail.
Well my dog is walled twice a day got heaps of toys and 3 of us play with him all day he gets loads of fuss and this and he does loads of training for tricks and this still happens, so I think your wrong
@@crazycressy7986 it's because I see a neighbours dog that does this till his tail is covered in blood and I'm sure it's depressed. He never goes out. But fare enough.
@@deanfpv1016 just came back from a 1 hour training and play in the park and as soon as he came home he started it again ,we are at the vets again next week and will ask ,but a friend of ours has 2 lakekands and on is his brother from the previous litter and apparently they did it 🤷♂️
We don't know why? Simple induction alludes to apparent foreign threat or prey.
thats very vey wrong - not a dog likes chasing tails !! 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
