I hope so too! Honestly, Eraserhead is the Lynch film that I would love to come out on 4K. Black and white films on 4K are a completely new experience on the format. The Elephant Man on 4K from Studiocanal is so impressive so I can only imagine how fantastic Eraserhead would look.

I was on the fence since I already own the excellent blu-ray. Going to have to pick this up when it goes on sale. Great review Andrew! Definitely the seminal film in David Lynch's film trajectory. Thanks to Dune, this is the one that permanently set him on the path of "the art life".

Me too. That's why I watched this video. If anything the plastic cases should be cheaper to produce.
@@steven2640 haha that's why i watched too, it's really annoying that they don't match the majority of the collection, so i buy the films elsewhere
just reviewed this for my channel, great news on the new restoration supervised by the man himself - I'll wait a while as I have the blu-ray already.
Mulholland Drive is still my favorite of Lynch’s films, but this is a close second followed by Fire Walk With Me. I may have to pick this up.
Did you own the Criterion blu ray version? It came in a very slim digital-case, but the 4K looks a little thicker? Can you verify?
I did own that version. The new 4K is only slightly thicker than the old one to accommodate the second disc.
I have both. It (the 4K) is slightly thicker AND it is also slightly wider. Where the Blu-Ray fit into a standard sleeve protector... the 4K does not.
Andrew- please tell me this disc is nowhere near as bad as The Deer Hunger 4k, in terms of darkness
