Sivir and Trundle came from a time where movement speed actually mattered. In the early times charging with 700 movement speed on a adc was a threat. Nowadays there are 16 dashes on every champion so they can just outplay you. Especially Trundle does not have a lot of damage since he still needs to build tanky to close gaps, stealing stats isn't good enough anymore
That actually is a very good point. Before, higher movement speed was a huge advantage because 450 vs 350 MS meant for most champions, they could not catch you (or you could catch up to them).
@@omarg1471 Expanding the idea about his W, It could be that empowered the next skill you use o give it an additional effect. Exampl: the Q does more damage and/or slow, E stunts and Ulti lowers his basic habilities by some percentage.
In fairness, I think a Trundle rework doesn't need to be that dramatic to be effective. Instead of being a champion who is only great at split pushing (but not waveclear) and countering strong tanks, you could keep that--albeit to a lesser degree--in exchange for improving his terrain generation/manipulation aspect. Make his ultimate more interactive or dynamic than a point-and-click that is mainly effective against tanks and no one else. Trundle's kit and themes have a lot of potential for growth and adding interesting or more versatile dynamics while still keeping his core intact. Trundle's biggest problem is not that his design is fundamentally flawed, but rather that his design is just too niche and one-dimensional--but it can definitely be added to and tweaked without losing what people like about him. This is great news for Trundle players, in contrast with much harder and more fundamental problems with champions like Azir, Kallista, A-Sol, etc..
As a trundle main I gotta say, there is nothing more rewarding than getting to an enemy inhib right as a team fight breaks out and having no one there to stop you from closing out the game within 20 seconds
i'm not even joking, last night i had a game that was 180 degrees changed when they had a fight in top jungle when i had like 1/3 minutes and destroyed 5 turrets, 2 inhibs and the nexus all by myself, he's broken if not watched to
This is great if the team does their job and make the enemy choose between fighting them with all or letting them send enough to stop trundle but letting trundles team push without enough to stop him
I mean... they could give him something like the interaction singed has between his e and w, by this i mean something like this: "If trundle knocks up an enemy champion with his E Pillar of ice when an enemy is the area of his W Frozen domain they get rooted during 1/1/2/2/2.5 seconds" it would give him agency on games, differentiate bad trundles from good trundles and most importantly, it would give him something that isn't plain damage and slow on an era where there is a rune that makes you inmune to slows at all.
I think they can do something like make his ulti drains stats from the target until the target is either dead or manage to get out of a specific range around trundle (much like lb's E or karma's W) it reward players for moving between attacks, using his pillar correctly to block mobility spells while also help his dueling power against other bruisers on the toplane
I like to play Trundle vs Sejuani, as if you ult Sejuani while she has passive up she can get up to negative stats.. Seeing a full tank get melted like they are building an adc is just.. cathartic.
Trundle is one of the two junglers I main. Why? It's satisfying doing something really, really simple against someone trying to be extremely complex and advanced and **still** kicking their ass. c:
I love this ahha i do the exact same thing XD, all this yone/yasuo/viego ecc trying crazy things to outplay you..BUT TRUNDLE GOES CHOMP AND THWANK AND IF YOU GO BACK TO BASE HE WILL TAKE 6 TOWERS 3 INHIBS THE NEXUS AND YOUR MOM
yes, like: they do 425435435 dashes perfect combos but you just beat the shit out of them really hard, its really fun and satisfying, especially against akali
I so agree XD That's why I'm a huge fan of simple champs. U wanna do calculus while doing a backflip and juggling swords while cs-ing in lane all at the same time, cool, huge club go brrrrr XDD
i picked up trundle when everyone was playing reworked mord, trundle can just beat mord to death in mord ult if trundle ults in the death realm. I only really play him as a counter pick, he doesnt feel great to pick before the enemy top.
I feel like right now Trundle is degraded to a toplane counterpick, like barrier Warwick, where you basically just give melee bullies/juggernauts like Darius, Morde and Garen a Pick that they can’t all in, because you just hard stat check them. Warwick with barrier or Olaf is just much better at doing this than Trundle.
compared to other autoattack stat sticks in league, he really is boring yi can go untargetable, tryndamere has 5 seconds of not dying, what can trundle do? steal stats? apart from that, he isn't really fun to play, let alone against. there's no satisfaction of stealing stats unlike dodging skillshots with alpha strike or surviving a 1v3 with trynda ult
@@lillyie you do know that trundle counterattacks both trynda and yi right? Because of trundle’s R (that you’re practically saying is useless) and his burst of attack speed with lifesteal he can survive both yi and trynda’s burst damage. Check stats before making a comment based on your biased opinion.
@@lillyie I personally think laning top with grasp as Trundle is very fun, as well as using him to shread top towers and soaking up pressure more than a fed Fiora
how am i biased? if he wasn't boring to play unlike yi and trynda, vars wouldn't have to make this video. stealing stats isn't really effective nowadays because tanks aren't meta due to the amount of anti tank items and the popularity of slayers like yone, yasuo etc. i think it's you that should check stats before making a biased opinion
and if you want a champion that's fun but isn't a stat stick, mordekaiser is the one. unlike trundle, who only steals health, armor and MR, mordekaiser steals health, armor, mr, ad, ap, speed and their size, and he actually provides utility. while you may say trundle's pillar is utility because it can block enemies, the thing is **it can also block your teammates**
As someone who mainly plays a lot of the champs in these vids, I appreciate these more clear cut good at certain things and not at everything champs and making it work regardless. Trundle is a far more sensible stat stick type champ than Mundo for example. Not every champ needs all types of flashy nonsense to be a good champ. It might be me being from season 3 but each and every champ since Yasuo besides a few have lost that spirit of what made league fun to play in those good old days with friends, when it was a simpler game and you didn't need an encyclopedia to read a passive.
In a way, if trundle grows stronger based on the enemy tank growing stronger, if he is toplane against a tank, especially so a tank who doesn't actually become that much more dangerous with more gold, the "ideal" scenario might actually be to go kill for kill with it, so that you both gain money, but you essentially gain part of their money as well if you can ult them every time the teamfights start
I think this idea only works if you know you can all in and kill him and then die. This is better than dying alone and giving him gold, but still a better option to try to not die.
I literally have no clue how you have only 38k subs. The quality is better than most people with 10 times that. I'm hella subscribed and hope more people find your content
one interresting thing about trundle his that he holds a very nice record. namely the record of the longest time not getting a balance change after release, two full years of not beeing too op to nerf or too weak to buff. in my opinion that´s pretty crazy
Him being so simple makes him intresting. If you can run away when he ults amd go back in later you beat him and he has to get a good pillar so you dont outrun him. Yes he is very simple but he offers some counterplay and having a few simple champions aint bad.
Man, i love the troll. One of my best champs in clash, because i suck at micro and mechanics and need someone who can just beat people to death and only one ability to think about: the pillar.
Trundle was integral to my league experiece because he was a super easy jungler. Since jungle is probably the hardest role to learn, having someone who had no trouble killing camps and sustaining meant i could focus on watching the map and ganking lanes and obj without worrying about my hp.
Yeah, all of those are cool and stuff, but it still has one fatal problem: he’s not good at everything and if he’s good at one thing he fatally lacks of something in every other. He doesn’t have a niesh, that he’s good at, there’re always champions that will do his job better, faster and with much more profit.

Ah I remember when the old trundle was actually the old trundle. this trundle is a reworked trundle, would you believe it? If I remember correctly his Q didnt slow back in the day and his W also gave him tenacity. I totally favoured his old lore too, because he was a hero, who took the entirety of a deadly curse, that afflicted his clan all upon himself and because he was unique among his troll brethren, he regenerated his cells faster, than the curse could rot away at his body. the fact that he was super fucking ugly, and disgusting and that this was the result of his love and devotion to his people, that I think was kinda cool. instead he´s now a frost troll king - yeah whatever, at least his Q now slows, that is a massive improvement for him. I mean imagine playing the actual trundle today and his Q didnt even slow ... that would suck
This is why I almost exclusively use his traditional skin. I wish they didn't change his flavor and just gave skins that advanced that a little bit or add other trolls from his tribe in.
I'm late and I play mostly aram(which is another beast I know) but MAN do I love getting Trundle and just bonking people in the face. He is simple and that's the charm. You walk up to people and smack them so hard they get back in time with the headache. I can think of 3 or 4 situations people disregarded me just to get melted in a moment by a R+W+Q. Making people acknowledge you and start respecting you is immensely fun and the "new and shinning" champs with their billion tricks can't do that in the Trundle, Renek and other rather "underestimated" champs do(Renek not so much, but I guess you understand my point).
Honestly, i think a simple and elegant change would be to fuse some of his skills. His Q could be part of his passive and add a heal, lower the AD steal some, and have it cooldown faster in his domain. Icepillar and Frozen domain could fuse and meet between their ranges of effects, and that alone would open up 2 skills to add in for him, so you can make him more dynamic.
@@toonlinkssbb515 that could also work as a short term. If they want Trundle popular, he would need a rework but I'm personally okay with him having his own unique place in league as a counter pick.
Despite the disclaimer, I'm still triggered. -1m+ mastery trundle player Also, what more satisfying than beating people with a club and give 'em the FAT CHOMP THIS CHAMP TAKES ME BACK TO AN OLD BLOODLINE
I love this video. You say some amazing and insightful things about trundle, while also highlighting what makes him fun for me, a trundle player. You just get to bonk the life out of people, that’s what I love about him. Turn the brain off and bonk. Also, he protecc, he atacc, but most importantly, he steal stat.
Yo, Trundle enthusiast here. The reason he is so fun to me is because he has imo the best splitpushing power in the entire game through all stages of the game (maybe yorick is better but not by much imo). The fact that you can get so huge and push so fast it can lead to situations where you completely ignore the enemy top trying to kill you while you mow down an inibh turret. The biggest reason I think people don't play him much aside from some of that things you said is that 90% of the people don't know how to build him, they think it's a smart play going tank items but there is 0 necessity for it since you get tanky with your ult (even if you ult squishies), so people build that way, get rekt or get bored because altough they can't die, they also can't kill. Another reason I like trundle is because he is so liniear, he requires alot of macro knowledge so it ends up being way more satisfying gettings win on him than some meta pick.
ARE YOU READY FOR THE THUNDER?! ARE YOU READY FOR THE FREAK SHOWWW YET?! WHEN THE CURTINS HIT THE FLOOR I WILL LEAVE YOU WANTING MORE SO YOU DON'T FORGET~!
I don't think trundle is boring at all, I have so much fun playing him. playing trundle is like playing quinn, playing the map and making their top lane turrets go bye bye in 2 minutes. Theres a satisfaction of yelling oongaboonga and running people down. In ranked, i dont take him in team fights cause its a stupid idea, its not what he's meant for. He's meant to hunt down people (aka his e and w) and chomp turrets. I dont think you can just say that the champion is boring (from a subjective standpoint of course).
I can agree with this as someone who plays trundle pretty often, you do NEED to enjoy macro play to really get the most out of him, he's a character the thrives in enjoying the fundamentals of the game more so than the champion himself
No dont give trundle a full rework like poppy or Aatrox, I want him to stay simple and auto attack reliant. Besides i think he looks pretty good for an old champion, maybe he needs some detail work but no full overhaul. Changing his ult and his Q is fine but his pillar is iconic and his W is unique enough among the attackspeed steroids and has the potential to be outplayed by getting out of it and fighting him outside it.
I love Trundle he was my love child champ just to tell you how good I was with him. I master his Ice pillar being able to perfectly landing it between the champion and pinning them to the wall. It use to be able to bug out the enemy champ making them in a semi stun state that stop them from using all movement ability. However, they fix and now he just a giant stat stick champ.
When I started play ing I was really surprised to find out he is very low played, the least played at some points, because I always heard about him being really OP. Also, inconsistent is definitely your favorite word.
I think there is a certain point though that not every champ needs to be reworked to have 6 dashes and 4d chess outplay potential. There is an appealing niche to having straight stat stick champs in a moba, and there are players who enjoy that kind of playstyle. Once in a while it's good to have champions with very straightforward gameplans and micro plays, because it incentivizes improving macro play instead (of which most of us could stand to be better at). And with the way trundle is designed, he really doesn't need much to be successful, he just needs small adjustments here and there, like a singed style change where his W interacts in some form with his E. (E.g. making E stun/root if it is summoned inside W) Trundle's other niche appeal is also as a counter pick, and again, it's also just good for the health of a moba to have meta-agnostic champs; a full rework will likely take that away from him.
It's also important to note that whenever junglers like sejuani are popular, trundle instantly comes back since he is possibly the best counterpick to her.
I always found it weird that Trundle, a non magical beatstick had an ult that really fits a Warlock/Lich kind of character. He essentially drains their lifeforce/soul and takes it for himself. You could rename his ult to soulstealer or something and it would fit perfectly.
I used to main Trundle. I still have much love for him. There are a few reasons he is not that great right now. I think, like may of the older champions he is clunky. There are so many champions and items with movement, he feels kiteable and very linear. The things that really kill him right now are a few tings. 1. A LOT of on hit stuff is no longer in game, like Frozen Mallet. For example. He has no HARD CC. That being said you cant really avoid his pillar, it does not give a warning like so many do. It has no circle on the ground and no travel time. you could do a MARK system like other Fjord champs, after so many marks X happens. 2. He does not have the clearest identity item wise. What makes him great is he can be a tank, or a bruiser, but thats also his weakness. Hes not tanky enough to true tank usually (meaning you need a LOT of gold) and if you do that he does no damage. And he does not do enough damage (usually) to be a DPS machine. He is all about chipping away weakened opponents. Like he is great with iceborn gauntlet, great, thats your mythic. Then you are pigeon holed back into the whole Bamms cinder hulk item and thornmail, but who ISNT decent with that? I have had a bit of success with what used to be the old BLUE builds. Gauntlet and Frozen heart. Mana, armor, cool downs. 3. When I jungle I think about 5 jobs. 1. farms/camps 2. ganks 3. lane control and split pushing and counter jungling 4. neutral objectives 5. invading .... if I struggle at any one of these, I can shift to the other. Trundle is PERFECT for this. HOWEVER to split push like a Troll king you really need a SHEEN item and, to Clear fast a TIAMAT item helps (Bami Cinder is not the worst item) and to DUEL the tiamats auto attack reset used to help...now there is not auto reset. So the changes to Tiamat AND sheen items (what combines to them) REALLY hurt my play style. Because now I feel like I am picking between a SHEEN item and/or a MYTHIC .... and or clear.... That with the XP nerf really hurt how I play trundle this season 115 .... I am liking the buffs to Essence Reaver and Black cleaver as well as Seprant's fang. I think it could help. I feel like they could just combine Serpant's fang and Sanguine blade to make a shield breaking Mythic.....
Trundle is somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me he's simple and it's oddly relaxing watching your champ hit things with a club, my issue why I don't play him more is around mid game you can get really tanky but that's about it your damage really falls off and whilst it's fun watching tanks panic as their suddenly not as tanky as they thought they were your just sat there with no cc or anything just being a meat shield as you threaten no one with your damage. If your looking for a suggestion on improving gameplay form me, I'd just give his kit more interaction with itself, like giving the pillar a wider range when stacking in frozen domain and a stacking slow which adds a debuff after 2/3 of being affected by it which then stuns them for a second or two should trundle attack them which would help him land damage much better in teamfights and also make his ganks early much more consistent.
Trundle was one of my first mains, and is still a pocket pick for me. I love me some troll king. I would love to see what a rework does to him. A WW style rework for Trundle would be amazing
I have a cute idea for a trundle rework somewhat inspired by hogger in hots: Passive: On hit, trundle steals a certain % of the enemy's "primary" state(determined by whichever is their largest bonus stat) Q: Is now a small aoe cone in front of him that applies on hit effects and has vayne's condemn effect (wallbang for stun) with half the distance of condemn's displacement W: same thing but more bonus healing since reworked passive E: same thing R: same thing, but also takes primary stat as defined by passive but with diminishing returns when applied to same target as his passive, but also cleanses trundle of any CC that was applied by the champion he ults This would give skill expression to him since he can set up pillar summons into q stun. It would give his kit more natural synergy since his primary cc in Q could be set up with both pillar or the movement speed from W to reposition such that he can wallbang you even without pillar. This rework would also make him useful in many more situations and require a lot of situational awareness from the trundle in terms of who he wants to ult or steal stats from. Do you ult and run down the hypercarry? Do you instead attack the carry but steal tanky stats from someone else with ult? Do you ult the carry but attack the tank because you think you can stack up on the tank but the carry will kite you? Do you go greedy and build damage relying on getting tanky stats from two tanks on the enemy team? The answers to these questions will change based on the game state as well depending on who's fed and what they are building. The enemy team could also play around this by changing build orders. The major tradeoffs here would be that trundle would lose the fast cd on q and atk damage steal baseline so he would hurt less without items or stealing stacks from the correct targets, and he would have to rely more on items or W for healing without his old passive. I think that's fair to make him more dynamic, skill intensive, and with more counterplay since I think this idea retains trundle's really core identities from pillar and stat steal.
Trundle has a great clear speed and arguably the best sustain in the game as a jungler. He is *better* against tanks, but can also destroy squishies with ease. He can outduel anyone, solo objectives, splitpush like a boss. Honesty, Ice Pillar is the only real 'skill' he has because he needs nothing else.
Gonna be honest most of the things in this vid are true and i can agree with most of it,but i can also dissagree when you said he has no cc,you see there is 1 more way to play trundle the Ability Haste Trundle Build where you buy mostly only cdr items and max pillar and slow everybody every 8 seconds or so with a slow of 60% it can make it decently viable .In rest pretty great video covering why Trundle isn't so played,Good job :D.
I think a rework for trundle would be really cool to make his passive his domain that summons itself on his next ability cast with an internal cooldown and then keep his q and e largely the same but move the stat-stick parts mostly to that passive so he becomes nigh unstoppable within his domain and then give him some more outplay kind of abilities to replace w and r
a nice gameplay update to trundle is like u said when enemies are in him frozen domain then if they get knockup by pilar (instant stun) if not like zoe sleep countdown they get stun if they stick next to pillar for a certain time not able to get away (rewarding/giving user mechanics). rather being a stat checker, giving trundle sticking potential and an engage for charging in teamfights draining the frontline then he can stuns enemies.
It's funny he's back to his original stereotype. He's been my go to jungler since the days he was a little diseased boy that bought a vampiric scepter to start.
E: makes a pillar. Champs hit by this ability leave behind trundle domain. Bring down the slow of the pillar but put it also on his domain. That way he can fight longer in his domain.
"the dark times of season 6" only idiots say that. The "tank meta" had plenty of ways to counter it and kill it, just most players didn't have the IQ to do it. Vayne and Varus both were early year % max HP damage dealers, and vayne specifically countered ANYTHING tanky (still does) by that % damage being TRUE damage. Vi existed then too, who not only deals % max physical damage but also lowered their armor too. Granted, in that season there were not a lot of % champions, but they did exist and they were a true terror to the so-called tank meta. Blade of the Ruined King was a key item that allowed other ADC's without percent max HP abilities to bring down tanks, and back then it calculated its damage before the crit was calculated, allowing for some crazy crit numbers to pop.
I have played trundle since his midget days, and if they rework trundle I might have to quit again... I know you guys hate old design but I've always loved his kit, his gimmick of being a stat stealing duelist is great to me and he's one of the few champions who out duels fiora and Irelia 1v1, I love him the way he is. They already ruined my yorick, leave my trundle alone!
I'm not a Trundle player, so i'm talking from inexperience but this is how I would rework Trundle: Passive: One Troll to Rule Them All (this passive scales at levels 1/6/13) Innate - Troll Fighting: every 26/22/16 seconds Trundle's the next basic attack will bite his target dealing 30/60/100 bonus physical damage (doubled against monsters), healing Trundle for the pre-mitigation damage, if the target is a champion it also applies one Stack of subjugation for 6 seconds. basic attacks against champions or large or epic monsters reduce the remaining CD of Troll Fighting by one second Innate - Subjugate: enemy champions hit by "Troll Figthing" and "Bow to The King" are marked for 6 seconds with "Subjugate". Trundle reduce the Duration of All incoming Slows, Roots, Fears, Charms, Sleeps and Stunts from marked targets to 0.25 seconds for the duration of the mark
It’s funny, for a champ that is a very good at dealing huge crit damage while having easy ways to go in and out of fights with E, can get free diving kills under tower on R, and can be around splitpushing or teamfighting to have an impact, and can easily snowball. It’s kind of unusual that Tryndamere is unpopular especially since he can also comeback from farming and the weakness of CC can be a bit nullified by avoiding them.
I would mention that in Legends of Runeterra he wins damage based on how many stronger allies so basically his ult but he can cast it on allies. Which Is a good direction to rework him, not only he gets stronger from enemies but his own allies, making him a juggernaut focused on teamfights, which makes sense cause he Is the troll king, he fights with His own kind and leads them to victory
My objectif of fun as playing trundle alot its. If you got to base once i wil bite an smash the living hell out of your tower almost taking it fully with a damage build in one go What makes it fun for me to play trundle is the he is the kind of champ that two of us comes in but only one of us wil walk out alive and if you think about buffing yourself up during a fight im gonna make you regret it for doing that in my domain
So I've been on and off League for a few years now but recently got back into it...and Trundle hits a sweet spot for me. Sure he's extremely simple but honestly - I think it's his thing and suits his character, I don't think he needs more complicated abilities. A bit of ability synergy might be nice though. I just enjoy whacking people hard and fast with his club while draining their stats away and he's a fantastic tower destroyer. Wonderful video though, good job! I only got Trundle many years ago because he was getting a VU and you got a free skin if you bought him before the VU launched. I ended up loving him so much and I just find that funny :P
My favourite champion. I was the only trundle player I had ever seen in game before he got "reworked". I started playing him specifically because I had no idea he existed, loved him and soon I had over 100 games. And then he became frosty. And now I'm sad that he's super weak.
As a somewhat frequent Trundle player I'd like to share some toughts. I like him becouse he's simple. So simple anyone could just pick him up when needed. Aside from that , he can be extremely powerfull if played right and the situation fits him. Let's say the enemy rolls 3 tanks , I instapick him. When Voli was new and everyone played him I used Trundle to shut them down. He can totally solocarry just by shutting down tankier enemies. These are the reasons of his unpopularity... he's extremely situational and simple. Even if you obliterate the enemy team you jsut bonk them to death , he's not flashy or someone who will do the most impressive looking outplays. However it is appealing for me to dispatch a juiced up tank and deny movement with pillar.
idk if U NEED consistency with every champs ... with 150+ champs ... u need some that are more counterpicks. So that Trundle is good mostly against certain comps isn't necessarily bad ... it's just that he is too easily countered and so linear that the only way as u said to counter .. is to have more thats than your opponent. If i would change something to him .. it's his icy domain and his passive. Maybe give him a new passive or E that helps him and put his actual passive on one of his skills ... he should havea flashier move .. but being anti tank should stay
Me a trundle main: it’s because he’s a troll pick
OwO I see what u did there
absolute genuis
Brah
I hate you and love you at the same time.
Indeed AP Attaque SPD trundle let go.
There is nothing more satisfying than getting some alone time with a turret as trundle
Yessss
Sanguine blade sheen. Is literally... Gigga broke on a trundle alone with a tower....
Member when they took his chomp away against turrets?? Worst change ever thankfully they reverted that way later
Bro, especially if you have demolish, you melt a turret in like 3 seconds xD
I'm tilted on top then I try Trundle. H*ly shit. The Tankiest Mundo in the enemy team just erased in 2 secs in every clash.
What if he could steal movement speed too? Ive never played him so maybe he does

Well wouldn't do wrong if his E also drains health :c, just like Morgana's
Yes!
i'm not even joking, last night i had a game that was 180 degrees changed when they had a fight in top jungle when i had like 1/3 minutes and destroyed 5 turrets, 2 inhibs and the nexus all by myself, he's broken if not watched to

I mean... they could give him something like the interaction singed has between his e and w, by this i mean something like this:
"If trundle knocks up an enemy champion with his E Pillar of ice when an enemy is the area of his W Frozen domain they get rooted during 1/1/2/2/2.5 seconds" it would give him agency on games, differentiate bad trundles from good trundles and most importantly, it would give him something that isn't plain damage and slow on an era where there is a rune that makes you inmune to slows at all.
I love this idea.
Or his bite will cripple the other stats or heal him of the champ he bit inside his W
2.5s root, that's a lot of CC.
Which rune inmune to slow ?
I like to play Trundle vs Sejuani, as if you ult Sejuani while she has passive up she can get up to negative stats.. Seeing a full tank get melted like they are building an adc is just.. cathartic.

i picked up trundle when everyone was playing reworked mord, trundle can just beat mord to death in mord ult if trundle ults in the death realm.
Warwick with barrier or Olaf is just much better at doing this than Trundle.

compared to other autoattack stat sticks in league, he really is boring
yi can go untargetable, tryndamere has 5 seconds of not dying,
what can trundle do? steal stats? apart from that, he isn't really fun to play, let alone against. there's no satisfaction of stealing stats unlike dodging skillshots with alpha strike or surviving a 1v3 with trynda ult
@@lillyie you do know that trundle counterattacks both trynda and yi right? Because of trundle’s R (that you’re practically saying is useless) and his burst of attack speed with lifesteal he can survive both yi and trynda’s burst damage.
I conepletely agree, even down to the timing of yasuo's release. Thank you for validating what I have been thinking for years.
Last time i saw a trundle he cancelled my every back with his pillar, forcing me to walk to base. Big psycho vibes

Wait thats 1000 iq
I think this idea only works if you know you can all in and kill him and then die. This is better than dying alone and giving him gold, but still a better option to try to not die.

one interresting thing about trundle his that he holds a very nice record. namely the record of the longest time not getting a balance change after release, two full years of not beeing too op to nerf or too weak to buff. in my opinion that´s pretty crazy
3 years later: Trundle has the highest winrate of all toplaners, while still having the EXACT SAME abilities.
Him being so simple makes him intresting. If you can run away when he ults amd go back in later you beat him and he has to get a good pillar so you dont outrun him. Yes he is very simple but he offers some counterplay and having a few simple champions aint bad.
yea simple is good, but he has to keep up in meta and strength with other tanks/bruisers

The reason is simple: he has no right itemization right now. He is either a glass machine gun or a tank, who deals no damage at all.
Goredrinker, Titanic Hydra, Steraks, Tank Items. Does good damage and sustains well if you use ult correctly
trinity, botrk, cleaver, titanic, situational-item makes for a lot of durability and a lot of damage
Even stride breaker sounds cool

I love play trundle.
The only problem is so many jungle can jump through wall now. Hard to catch enemy jungle nowadays.
Change his W so when enemies are in it they are slowed and when you're in it your Q changes into a leap.
Honestly all they could do to make his better is make w a grounding so no flash or dashing away while in it
@@toonlinkssbb515 that could also work as a short term. If they want Trundle popular, he would need a rework but I'm personally okay with him having his own unique place in league as a counter pick.

God i love you videos, the way its structured and you voice makes it such a nice bed time story
I can agree with this as someone who plays trundle pretty often, you do NEED to enjoy macro play to really get the most out of him, he's a character the thrives in enjoying the fundamentals of the game more so than the champion himself

Funny. I just picked up trundle yesterday and I'm having a great time
No dont give trundle a full rework like poppy or Aatrox, I want him to stay simple and auto attack reliant.

Bound of STONES intensifies
(E.g. making E stun/root if it is summoned inside W)
Trundle's other niche appeal is also as a counter pick, and again, it's also just good for the health of a moba to have meta-agnostic champs; a full rework will likely take that away from him.
I’m scared that if they give him a VGU rework, they’ll make him hot .-.
It's because he is a king and Subjugate, the name of his ult, means to take from others and add to your own power. Makes perfect sense to me.
I play trundle top as a cheese pick top. People underestimate his all in potential and just fight him and lose.
1. farms/camps
2. ganks
3. lane control and split pushing and counter jungling
4. neutral objectives
5. invading ....
if I struggle at any one of these, I can shift to the other.

3:21 Im still waitin for that why no one plays xin zhao video. Although im assuming it aint happening cuz of the rework
"Picking him is considered trolling"

Trundle was one of my first mains, and is still a pocket pick for me. I love me some troll king. I would love to see what a rework does to him. A WW style rework for Trundle would be amazing
look tomar, it's you
This video is the reason I started playing Trundle. Thank you.
I have a cute idea for a trundle rework somewhat inspired by hogger in hots:
Passive: On hit, trundle steals a certain % of the enemy's "primary" state(determined by whichever is their largest bonus stat)
Q: Is now a small aoe cone in front of him that applies on hit effects and has vayne's condemn effect (wallbang for stun) with half the distance of condemn's displacement
W: same thing but more bonus healing since reworked passive
E: same thing
R: same thing, but also takes primary stat as defined by passive but with diminishing returns when applied to same target as his passive, but also cleanses trundle of any CC that was applied by the champion he ults
This would give skill expression to him since he can set up pillar summons into q stun.
I love trundle so much he is my Jung main
Trundle has a great clear speed and arguably the best sustain in the game as a jungler. He is *better* against tanks, but can also destroy squishies with ease. He can outduel anyone, solo objectives, splitpush like a boss. Honesty, Ice Pillar is the only real 'skill' he has because he needs nothing else.
Yess
trundle needs a doge skin
so he can officially bonk
Gonna be honest most of the things in this vid are true and i can agree with most of it,but i can also dissagree when you said he has no cc,you see there is 1 more way to play trundle the Ability Haste Trundle Build where you buy mostly only cdr items and max pillar and slow everybody every 8 seconds or so with a slow of 60% it can make it decently viable .In rest pretty great video covering why Trundle isn't so played,Good job :D.
is playing trundle cdr worthy? i mean there are only two ways how to play trundle either fighter or tanky.
Great video and Aviators as background music is a really nice touch. ❤️
YOU'RE A STRANGERRR I'M A NATIVE IN THE WASTES WE'RE BORN AFRAIDDD~
I think the utility of pillar is understated. Has a knockup and a slow up to 60%. On the correct targets this blows a flash every time if used wisely.
I loved season 6. Not many people do though. I don't think it's nice to call people idiots just for having a different opinion than you though :/
I'm not a Trundle player, so i'm talking from inexperience but this is how I would rework Trundle:
Passive: One Troll to Rule Them All (this passive scales at levels 1/6/13)
Innate - Troll Fighting: every 26/22/16 seconds Trundle's the next basic attack will bite his target dealing 30/60/100 bonus physical damage (doubled against monsters), healing Trundle for the pre-mitigation damage,
if the target is a champion it also applies one Stack of
subjugation for 6 seconds. basic attacks against champions or large or epic monsters reduce the remaining CD of Troll Fighting by one second
Innate - Subjugate: enemy champions hit by "Troll Figthing" and "Bow to The King" are marked for 6 seconds with "Subjugate". Trundle Steals 9/12/15 adaptative force, 6 armor and magic Resistance and 2/3/4% Bonus resistances of the subjugated target for the duration. Subjugate can Stack in the same Target up to 3 Times. The Stacks durations refreshes every time a new Stack is Applied. If A subjugated target dies, Trundle Keep it's stats for another 6 seconds after it's dead
Q: Boneshiver: Cast Time: None - Mana Cost: 30 - CD: 6s
Passive: Trundle's basic Attacks against Subjugated Targets deals 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2 of the target maximun health as bonus magic damage and heals Trundle for the post-mitigation damage
Active: Trundle's next basic attack within 7 seconds becomes unstoppable, and strike twice, the first attack deals 75% Total AD damage and Slow the Target for 75% for 0.1seconds. The second Strike deals 55/65/75/85/95% total AD damage and cleave in a 325 unit radius Circle Around the Target
Boneshiver rests Trundle Trundle's basic attack timer
W: Bow to the King: Target Range: 1200 - Cast Time: None - Effect Radius: 185 - Mana Cost: 85 - CD: 16/15/14/13/12s
Trundle summons a Wave ofTrue Ice to strike at the target location after a 1-second delay, Dealing 100/150/200/250/300 +85% bonus AD physical damage, Slowing by 25/35/45/55/65% the enemies it hits for 2.5 seconds and Crippling their attack Speed by 10/15/20/25/30% for 4 seconds.
If Bow to the King hits At least one enemy champion Trundle Gains 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% bonus movement Speed for 1.5 seconds and 30/50/70/90/110% bonus Attack Speed for 6 seconds.
Bow to the King Applies 2 Stacks of Subjugation to Enemy Champions
If Bow to the King hits Trundle's Pilar of Ice i
causes it to erupt Rooting all enemies in a 350 units radius around it for 0.75s and create an icy zone 650 units around it
in which Trundle gains the effects of hitting an enemy Chapion with Bow to the King
E: Unchanged
R: The King's Will: Target Range 725 units in front of Trundle/225 units around him - Angle 55° - Cast Time 0.25 seconds - Mana Cost 100 - CD 120/100/80s
Trundle Roars in the Target Direction dealing 200/300/400 +100% bonus AD magical damage to all enemies hit, knocking them back 75 units, silencing them for 0.75s +0.25s per Subjugate Stacks and marking them for 4 seconds. Trundle takes 40/60/80% reduced damage from marked enemies for the first Second and 20/30/40% afterwards.
Nunu has a stun! A second after you hit your snowball the enemy you hit will get stunned for 0,5 sec.
R.I.P old Aatroxx
My objectif of fun as playing trundle alot its. If you got to base once i wil bite an smash the living hell out of your tower almost taking it fully with a damage build in one go
What makes it fun for me to play trundle is the he is the kind of champ that two of us comes in but only one of us wil walk out alive and if you think about buffing yourself up during a fight im gonna make you regret it for doing that in my domain
Here when trundle is fucking OP
Maybe give him a new passive or E that helps him and put his actual passive on one of his skills ... he should havea flashier move .. but being anti tank should stay
me a trundle main has to say yes but the last part you said about trundle not having a stun, he has a knock up if you aim your pilar below them
Trundle is such a great split pusher, specially in lower elos where teamfights break out pretty often and players don't look their minimap lol
