Hi, Tim. I have at least 3 videos were loquat grafting appears - Changing varieties in loquats, Lateral Bark Grafting and Topworking fruit trees (which show some updates on the lateral bark grafts). Some pruning is shown in the first one also, but it's not normal pruning as i am changing varieties in that tree. After the harvest, if i have the time, i will take some footage of Loquat pruning and post a video.
Sharing your knowledge and experience with everyone is most sincerely appreciated. I'm just beginning to grow fruit trees. Along with fruit trees I'd like to learn to grow the all elusive "Money Tree"! Please advise on this type of tree if possible. Thanks.

Meanwhile, in this video, i used existent trees to graft my varieties (grafting directly on the existent variety), so rootstock was not a concern.

Estava a referir-me a utilizar porta-enxertos que reduzem muito a dimensão da árvore adulta e que permitem o seu cultivo num vaso grande. Existem porta-enxertos com essas características para muitas fruteiras diferentes. Por exemplo, o Rootpack 20 (www.agromillora.com/portainjertos-rootpac/) compatível com pessegueiros, nectarinas, ameixoeiras e amendoeiras e que reduz o tamanho da árvore adulta em mais de 60%. Existem equivalentes para outras fruteiras como macieiras (porta-enxerto M9, por exemplo), pereiras, etc. O problema é conseguir arranjá-los... I use a pruning mastic (like Arbokol, which is a resin based mastic). But, if the cut is not too big, its better to let it dry on its own. Principalmente quando estão enxertadas em Pereira de semente (Pyrus communis) é habitual só darem a primeira produção ao 5-6 ano. Para o ano é provável que já dêem umas peritas. Se, mesmo assim, quiser adicionar uma nova variedade, pode perfeitamente enxertar uma das árvores. Boa sorte com as suas árvores.

These are very old Pear trees. They are probably more than 50 years old and its shows in the bark :-)
