I've built a couple vans... I'm on the search for my next van and ran across this video. This is one of my favorite builds. Love it. Nice work from Washington State!!
There is one thing every vehicular road nomad loves about their dwelling --- It's personality. All the little not so perfect things, such as the radio working half the time, makes it that much more your own, problem or not. My van has the same issue. It may be a bad ground. Just a hunch. Anyway, I need to go finish watching this. Cheers mang!
This like the neatest van that I have ever seen!! Dang man!!! Where are the mountain bikes and surfboards and all the REAL sports storage???? This van is totally awesome though!!! Thanks for the inspiration, also your van looks like it should be named Berry (idk)
"You never know when someone is really, really gonna want to play baseball." Lmao! Subscribed because I'm a vanlifer as well. But that quote alone is worthy of following your channel.
Nice, very clean, nice colors. Love the water bins. I was wondering if your fresh water container is food grade, wouldn't want anyone to get sick from the plastic. Hopefully they are because they seem perfect.
Good job on the van...hard to tell how big the bed is but assume you have to sleep east/west and corner to corner. Used to live in Seattle...PNW is a great place to visit or live. Enjoy your travels!
+Stephen Stringer the bed is closest to a Full Size. I do sleep side to side, and in a way, diagonal if I'm stretched out completely. But normally I, and nost people sleep with legs bent at least a little bit, so it works just fine
Name it Lenore. She's a large lady, but comfortable, strong, useful. Carries her own weight and then some, and never complains. Not gorgeous but she cleans up nicely. Isn't high maintenance - she's okay with thrift store gifts (it's the thought that counts, after all).
I like the video and subscribed. Very trippy. Feel like I was watching an episode of The Twilight Zone. When you speak its very Rod Serling-ish. Call the van The Twilight Zone... it works. This is my first viewing of your channel. Going to go see what else you got. Going to take an adventure into space and time
Great vid man , I can't wait until my time comes , counting the days like jail time , ill be living through you guys until my dream happens in 18 months .
You should definitely invest in some non disposable plates and cutlery, will save room in your bin and help the environment :-) awesome van by the way!!
+imogen cooper yes I plan to do that. The only thing is that it is a little difficult to wash dishes in the small sink, and with the hand pump faucet. So I have to get used to that!
@@AlexanderTravelbum hey i saw a comment from a female van dweller a technique with the dishes. she puts a liquid soap in water bottle spray anf another bottle with very clean water. she wipes the dirty dishes with a single sheet of baby wipes then spray the liquid soap then lightly scrub with sponge then rinse by spraying with water from the very clean water bottle then drip dry or wipe and voila clean dish for a few spray of water. you can try that since you got a tiny sink.
@@AlexanderTravelbum Just discovered your channel and I am impressed with your sense of style ("rustic urban chic"), travel angle, and personality! In this case, size matters: I agree w/Imogen - what I use in my home is "bread" plates rather than "dinner" plates to manage portion size and provide the illusion of more. So, buy the smaller plates (get bamboo for everything when possible and practical) for the van to accommodate your sink/faucet!
I've watched a hundred or more van life vids in the last month or more. This one cracked me up - *and* inspired me. Here's to the beautiful open road. I look forward to following your journey.
Wow, looks very good. I'll recognize the Gray Ghost if I see it. If you see someone waving in the San Francisco bay area. Could be me!! ;-) Enjoy the trip, it does sound like great fun.
I love this video and the way this GMC is customized. I've only had my 1999 GMC Savana van for one full week so I've only added a few things so far. I hope to have mine as nice as yours someday. My son named our van Great Wolf.
My fav build vid! Great job! Hmmm....a name for the van...since you're doing a tour of the US, what about naming it after either your home state or your favorite president.
KT Sempergyro true, if I really wanted to be stealth I should have painted it white and put a fake business name on it. Like an electrician or a florist. But I liked the color. It does get more looks than I'd wanted
Nice machine! Having recently bought a smallish van to go away in, I definitely get the excitement about being on the road. Totally different to driving in my truck at work!! Nice video with some cool tips; many thanks.
@CountryKade His van, his way of life. "If you've gotta go, go out swinging!" He plans to travel across the entire Continental U.S. That's 48 different sets of laws at the State level (in addition to Canadian border crossings), and countless gun laws at the Municipal level governing how he may or may not travel with a firearm. In the end, no gun means no problems with cops and changing laws from State to State, City to City, and at the U.S./Canadian borders. Infact, I'm quite certain that it's forbidden to carry a firearm into Canada. The likeliness of being approached by a would-be thug is far less likely than is the likeliness of having to prove to some "supercop," that he's simply a camper that is obeying the laws of that particular State or Municipality. My wife and I travel with a .38 S&W revolver. If we know our travels are going to be through zones where carrying a gun will be problematic with law enforcement, we just leave the weapon at home. But Alexander's van "is" his home. No matter where he tucks it away, the only answer to the "Are you carrying a firearm on your person or in your vehicle?" would be "Yes," and thus the beginning of major headaches. What's he to do when traveling through States that ban carrying a firearm in a vehicle? Stop at the State Line to surrender it, and pick it up once across the State at the Line on the other side? Myself, I didn't choose to watch this video to see what sort of personal defense he has. I'm here to check out his most awesome van. My comment in regard to "extra innings" was a response to the humor of it, not because I think people should become firearm savy, which by the way I do not believe. It's a personal choice. And I (a gun-rights advocate) respect his choice.
Really like your van, awesome looking. Still thinking of a name for your van. Do you still like the water pump you have? That's the exact one we're considering for our van.

You are very entertaining. Van rocks too! The pnw is a beautiful place to start! Love it here.
Amanda Potter thank you! It's been great so far
Before the weather gets too bad try jade lake in Washington. I've never been but I hear it's breathtaking. That's my next little trip.
Amanda Potter thanks, I will look into that, I'll be on my way through Washington pretty soon
Beautiful van, that grey color is awesome and the overall set up is nice to see. You used your space well..
love how organized it is and how everything just comes together!!
ruby tang thank you, it took some planning. Still trying to fit some things in
This is one of the best executed vans of this type that I have seen, its versitility and simplcity blend perfectly.
Just Walking Through This World cheers
Awesome setup :) mine is a 2005 Ford e350 XLT Super Duty.
Maybe one of the best van conversions on UA-cam. I like the model of van you used also.

Very original 😜 I hope you have a great time traveling across America

I watched a lot of van conversions, but this is the best and easiest one
Miss this build. Looking back on it. That’s a dam good build, would be happy to travel more in something like it again
Love it
I wish I had something like this to travel around the world to teach kids about reptiles and marine life when I get older
Totally Cool! I would so love that to travel cross Country! Nice Ride!
Dude is super neat! Love that!

I love stuff like this
Probably just cleaned it for the video.

Such a clean build! Unlike most other vans that always look so tacky and not very well thought out this looks perfect!

Right
Its a mix of a whisper and a yell, i feel
