Congrats on your promotion to Director of Operations. We'll miss new videos but we have 146 of them to go back and watch. Blue skies and fair winds brother!!
@@courtney123a Perfect! Thanks for updating us. Glad he was promoted. Hopefully it still allows him to fly once in a while and film. But once you cross over to executive level, bureaucratic responsibilities go up and time to do what you love goes down.
You read my mind Shaun. I was just thinking yesterday how I had not seen anything of you in quite a while. And here you are today! Old or new, your videos are always great! Thanks.
I've watched a lot of these types of these videos, and this is by far the best I've seen. Absolutely love the professional casualism (if that's a word) and the way you both work together. 👍All day long!
Wondered if you forgot about us! lol, sure you've had about a billion things going on, but nice to see ya back. Good crew communication is highlighted in this one, and that makes for good safe flights. Hope you've been able to film some things for us, and hope all is well with you and the fam. in this New Year!
Hi Shaun! Was fun video watching you fly the G IV with Gus again! I had a great time and lunch with you guys in PDX! I hope all has been well with you! Nice landing natch!
That has to be the roughest flight ever!🤣 what a long agonizing flight! I like short legs like this they keep my FO busy! Not much chance for a snooze en route.
Back but with an old video? Maybe he got fired, his partner has kicked him out and he's doing a bit of cab driving whilst he finds something else. 'Cab Driver Life' doesn't quite sound so cool!!
@@ptw5h2o3 yeah it sure sounds like it. Director of operations is a full time job in itself. So I don't know if he will be able to continue to fly or even of the company will allow him to fly.
Glad you are back!! I know it's a little late, but Happy New Year! Awesome video as always, so Good to see you in the left seat. Love the right seat guy too, you two have great CRM.
Looked like a fun flight. I enjoyed the view the whole way. I never see those planes anyone says are in sight. Must be the camera isn’t quite as good as the eyes yet. Nice landing Shaun, nice flight.
The cameras are wide angle, so everything in the distance looks much smaller. I rarely see the traffic, too. I usually pick up the destination airfield late than the PIC does, too.
I like watching the gulfstream videos better. The hawker videos was like watching a green ford pinto flying with a wing on the truck and winglets glued to the drivers and passengers doors.
Looking forward to hearing what's going on. He still has the corporate polo shirts so suggests he's still employed...thinking he looked a little thinner? But the only video for a couple of months is one recorded over 6 months ago. All very odd. Maybe he's been ill. Hopefully he will share soon or else there's no point continuing the subscription.
It's been a while since we last heard from you. I know different things (life) sometimes gets in the way of the things we enjoy but I do hope all is well with you. I look forward to seeing some new videos soon.
I'm a little confused, in the beginning of this video you said that you may not be flying that aircraft after this flight. From the looks of it, the circuit breaker layout and the manual checklists, this Gulfstream is from the new employer. If you care to share, would you explain ?
Wonder what's going on? I made a comment that someone replied to indicating he'd received an email from Shaun and that he'd be posting very soon... that was 2 week's ago
I see that you are now listed as the Director of Operations for your company. Congratulations on this. It doesn't surprise me. Are you still going to drop a video now and then?
if he was promoted, he may have had to give up all this. if they wouldn't let him use tail numbers or call signs while taping. Then youtube may in the eyes of this company be beneath him, just saying.
Typical rags to riches story here in the US. Now that he's a big shot executive he will not speak to us, "Basket of Deplorables" as corrupt Hillary put it. And not even a last farewell or I'm taking a break word proves it.
It's due to a problem with the Gulfstream that can cause a hard-over of the nose wheel, so the manufacturer want us to keep our feet up for a potential differential braking situation.
Shaun, what you think of the g700 plane? Would you fly one if you had the chance? I know you missed around with a g600 was it back in the day. What's your thoughts on the touchscreen cockpit as a pilot, are they any better than previous iterations?
Nice video Shaun. Something nice, familiar perhaps about the G-IV... nothing wrong with the Hawker but somehow I just prefer the Gulfstream. Maybe it’s the Rolls Royce engine sound?
Was wondering if you took December off. You may not have been flying Presidential 69 but I did hear them before your takeoff. That was a quick low stress flight. Was that your last G IV flight Shaun? Looking forward to Tech Tuesday now.
Each facility's automation system is assigned a series of codes for internal use. The controller types in a callsign and the computer spits out a code. In the case of IFR flights that cover more than one facility, the National Beacon Code Allocation Program (yes, that's a real thing), works in concert with the concerned facilities so that only rarely does a flight have to change their codes in the course of a trip.
A response to Ghostknife3 comments below: I agree and disagree with you. Your right he does not owe anyone anything. But at the same time all of his subscribers and supporters got his video channel to where it is today. He has profited by having subscribers donate to Patreon (me being one of them) there was never any problem with him promoting his swag and encouraging all to buy and he has enjoyed the small bit of fame by having his dedicated followers having put him in the spotlight. All of this, even after disappointing so many when he left Presidential. Shaun has done dozens of videos after hours and away from his job, and I believe he owes it to his followers to at least update all of us as to what is going on. Quite frankly I am disappointed and I know thousands of others are too. As far as I am concerned, unless one of the circumstances mentioned applies, he has some serious explaining to do. We are the ones who have supported him and we are the ones who put him here. If his absence is solely work related regardless of any promotion, then I'm done with him and I think he owes everyone here an apology.
I feel the same way. If he doesn't care enough about his viewers to at least post "Sorry, I quit making videos" or "I'll be back in a few weeks" then I don't care enough about him to watch anymore of his stuff. imo his vids lost their chemistry when he left John. I also thought it was rather curious when some months after he'd left Presidential he said he had not spoken to John since he left.
