- Here is the entire flight from engine start to engine shutdown departing Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport and landing at West Palm Beach International Airport. The forward facing camera overheated and turned off before landing at Palm Beach, so I apologize for some missing footage from that camera angle. I hope you enjoy!

Last year I was doing an Angel Flight and on the way home through Indiana, I checked in with the local controller and about 20 minutes later I checked out and that was the only communication I heard. I told him it sounds like a slow day and he said "Feast or famine!" Man, this video really shows how busy a "Feast" can be!! Great video!

I really enjoyed this video guys. It was nice to get a little “behind the scenes” footage. This video in particular demonstrates the demanding pilot workload, especially on a short flight. guys ! Thank you so much.....This short flight with complete procedures from engines start to terminal taxi was a perfect present for anybody curious or found of these birds. Such a workload and professionalism, no TDA allowed ! Not to mention the perfect editing, with new P.I.P etc....you deserve all your subscribers, your success is exponential ! TY again for sharing these moments, with so many humility ! And finally, there's something really "appart" in the N269 livery : this metallic blue reflects all kind of tones from dark irised / deep blue to "bleu klein", depending of the surrounding light and time ! The top class at his best ;-)

Chris Estupinan between copters, VFR small aircraft, others not communicating with ATC and IFR ( not to mention the weather)I'll bet you guys have to be on your game. Good thing they separate ground, take off, approach and over to tower for landing traffic. Although I know some controllers at smaller airports end up doing a lot of it themselves

The G-IV is the Cadillac of Corporate Aviation! It is lacking for nothing that I can think of at this time. Even with the sophisticated avionics you guys still have to earn your money. Very nice job from engine start-up to shut-down. You guys are super! Keep up the good work and catch your next video when posted!

Great idea showing us from when you do startup, to landing, even if it was a bunnyhop for you guys. And those sunny days just seem to create those ridges at lower altitudes at times, which makes it feel like speed bumps almost, so I hope the flight out of there got better. To bad about that forward facing camera, but that sun coming in, would cook anything, and makes everything on the panel hard to see too. Some busy airspace too, that ATC barely got time to breathe at one point.
It was definitely busy out there. I was super disappointed about the camera. Hope you enjoyed the footage we did get.
Certainly enjoyed the video, and you did an excellent job of editing where that camera was barely missed and was only concerned that the camera didn't get ruined, Hopefully you can get Go-Pro or Garmin (as they make a really nice aviation camera line now) to sponsor the channel to help w/the camera situation, wouldn't be bad seeing their logo at the beginning of the video, and would supply prizes to give-away too!
Great to hear that busy controllers voice! I'm a retired controller 4 years now, How I miss it! My wife still yells at me for talking so fast that she can't keep with what I'm saying. And I'm still organizing things in my head, or "stacking" things to do. You guys do a great job.
I studied ATC a bit in college...it is a real skill you guys have. I hope you enjoy the videos, but I hope you enjoy the retirement more!

Had the chance to fly in a G4 3 times. No one else on board. Sat in jump seat. What a rush. Each flight lasted about 1 hr. Both pilots were so cool.

Then , same company bought a new Global Express. Got to ride in that too.
They were based out of Teterbourgh NJ.

They fly the G4 for a corporate owner mainly, but take charters as well. You have most likely heard of the aircrafts owner, but it’s not really discussed here. I think maintaining a certain level of privacy will ensure our access to this beautiful aircraft. I’m greatful Sean & Jon are allowed to bring us along their travels.

I really enjoyed you showing checking the G- 4 oil and how it's done. As a layman who's only flight experience is maybe riding the Southwest bus once every couple years It really showed the actual workings of how it's done. Maybe you can do a video one day on what's involved with aircraft tires. How you check them, how long they last etc.
You guy's are very professional. It's very refreshing to see. Excellent checklist usage and crew coordination on the short flight. Keep up the good work. I love it when crews don't cut corners!

Great job guys you two are always in sync both of you make a great team. Really enjoy the videos bring back the memories, these short hops give the viewers a good idea how busy it really gets upfront vs. when you do the long legs from Vegas to Florida.

It's too bad more of we "passengers" haven't seen this video. Before seeing this I would never have known just how much information you pilots process in such a short amount of time, OR, just how much is involved in getting an aircraft in the air. Kudos to you (and of course UA-cam!) for sharing. For me - there's no way on GODS green earth I could ever have learned to handle that kind of stress and I'm not embarressed to admit I do not have the mental capacity to handle that much. After having seen this I have a new found and refreshed respect for all pilots,, FLY SAFE gentlemen and again, Thank you again for sharing this amazing video. Awesome!!

Hey guys, I received a discovery flight for Father's Day. I did it today and I'm hooked. The instructor too of and landed but I had controls from 1000 ft climbed through 2500. I got to do some steep turns, that hooked me for life! He even let me fly the approach to 600ft.

Another good one gentlemen, what procedure were you performing when you both held a button on the panel while you took turns exercising the yokes?
That's the stick shaker/pusher test. It's the jet version of stall warning. We both have to hold down the angle of attack test to force both side's AOA to the limit. This ensures that the shaker and pusher engage at the appropriate times and that we can over ride the pusher with the button on the yoke.

Great videos! One question, right after take off, John mentioned he's "stay outside" for a second. Does that mean he's keeping his eyes outside?
Yep...that means we are keeping an eye out for traffic and not watching the instruments. ATC is supposed to keep us clear of traffic, but ultimately it's on us to see and avoid when in visual conditions.
There's a whole bunch of knobs, switches and buttons on that baby, good thing you know how to push her buttons!

How long did it take for you guys to be comfortable operating somewhere with such dense radio traffic?
It took a few years of practice. There are so many things to be comfortable with (airplane systems, navigation, ATC, etc). The more comfortable you are with each one, it makes thing so much smoother.

That's the sound of true power! You're just hearing it spool up...I left the audio on the wing view camera on for engine start so you guys could hear it fire up.
Hopefully that was not one of the ground crew getting ingested.....😃
The engines are air start off the APU, or if the APU is dead, off a huffer cart. Electric start turbines, like the King Air, make a distinctive whining sound which I always felt like fingernails on a chalkboard

Do you guys ever do single engine taxi to reduce fuel burn on long taxi's ?
Nope. It can be done, but you lose brake redundancy. If I remember correctly, some guys did that many years ago in a G-IV and lost brakes and ended up in the grass. We always just use both engines.
I see, thats a potentially valid issue right there, but many airliners do single engine (twins) or 2 engine (quads) taxi no problems.
So no electric backup pump on the Gulf? there was a 747 that went in a ditch from loss of brakes on a 2 engine taxi, but they must have forgotten to switch on the Elec / Pneumatic demand pumps on those systems and/or selected one of the other Hyd systems for alternate brakes, then again, cant you stop with the accumulator?
the 747 i dare say is probably the aircraft with the most redundancy you will ever find, 4 Engines, 4 Hyd Systems where a single 1 can fly the aircraft, Backup pumps on all 4 hyd systems, 4 Elec systems. etc etc. A380 would be pretty close with the EHA's and EBHA's it has.
The G-IV does have electric backup pump, but it has to be armed. We also have accumulator braking by hand. I agree that the 747 is an extremely redundant and amazing aircraft.
Is it normally armed as part of checklists when taxing?
When you say Accumulator braking by hand, does that mean the accumulator doesn't power the toe brakes and you have to carefully feather the parking brake to effect a controlled stop? AFAIK all commercial jets accumulators supply the toe brakes as well as parking brakes, after all the entire idea of the accumulator is to give you some brakes should you loose everything else, and ofc to hold them on when the aircraft is buttoned up and powered down.
#Meanwhile Boeing said "Fuck it, lets be different!" and used 100% electric (electro-mechanical) brakes on the 787, and by that there IS NO hydraulic braking at all on the 787, it is purely electric using servo motors. In the 787's case i believe that the Only thing you need for brakes is a working battery, so even without engines / apu you have brakes from the DC Bus, it also means that the parking brake wont bleed off over time unlike hydraulic ones which is quite good for extended parking durations.
I'd love for you to do a technical video in depth on the Electric and Hydraulic systems on the G-IV, because i'll be dammed, i cant find basically anything in depth about the electrical system (diagrams, system rules and limitations, etc) on the G-IV at all despite searching for some time, meanwhile most large jets like the A320, A340, 787, 747, etc there is a ton of info out there on how their systems works.
I think the training facilities keep a lot of that info tightly closed. But you are correct on the accumulator...it only actuates the brakes by feathering the parking brake handle. The electrically powered hydraulic pump will come on in a loss of engine driven hydraulic pressure and power the toe brakes though.
