HUGE THANKS to ExpressVPN for offering all Food Ranger viewers 3 months free and 49% off their yearly package using this link: ExpressVPN.com/Thefoodranger . Travelers need ExpressVPN to stay safe online and to unblock any site. I personally use it for Netflix, even while at home in Canada, but also while traveling to unblock content and episodes that are geoblocked, and I also use it for security, because airport wifi and hotel wifi is often very insecure, leaving my data vulnerable. By connecting to one of their servers around the world, it’s just like my computer or phone is in that location, and all data sent while connected to their VPN is secure, safe, and private from others to see, so I know that my data won’t be hacked or looked at by others. Thanks so much for watching, and we have tons more videos coming up for you! Please leave me a comment below letting me know what you thought about this episode, thanks so much!!!
Itony Chou the correct translation is " I eat here twice a week, once 3 days, the other 4 days " .which meant he eat there everyday .dotn doubt me, I'm a Chinese lol
The translation of the guy's joke was a bit off. He said I came here twice every week, once for 3 days and once for 4 days. He was joking he basically came to the store everyday!
watched few of your vids and i found out you have a very heartwarming, polite and kind personalities. feel touched to see great communication and interaction in society without boundaries. you should show us weird foods from the western too. love from Malaysia! :)
Wow. I've seen probably 50 of your vids if not more, this dish by far looks the best yet. Just absolutely gorgeous. Just about died when you rolled over the noodles to reveal that perfect amount of chili oil.
We are so fortunate to have such a fine young man like Trevor making and posting such wonderful videos that I really enjoy watching very much . Thank you so much Trevor you are my Hero
Yes...keep showing us different types of noodles, making a list of what to eat when I visit China! Have you ever considered vloggin from time to time? love to see the everyday life in China!
One of the best food and travel channels. Expertise in cuisine (especially Chinese) and awesome video-making skills! Keep it up and also remember to update more on Chinese websites as well!
I like how friendly Chinese ppl are. The world can learn alot from them. I have a chinese friend, whos studying in my country. One day he will take me to his Hometown. Cant wait to try all that stuff and meet all those friendly ppl. Love the Culture. Btw Awesome Videos, thanks for sharing
This is a great episode. It may be old, but shows what this show is really about. Eating good food + connecting with the locals. Good job Mr.Food Ranger! Look forward to all the more videos
A few videos in to my Sunday marathon with The Food Ranger, I can't stop smiling. My mouth is watering, I may have to take a break and go get me some noodles. ;)
I've watched most of your videos and will certainly visit Chengdu at some point, mainly because of the food. One of my close friends who studies here in Europe is from Chengdu and have always told me to visit him in Chengdu during the summer, which I certainly will. He always mentioned the food in Sichuan to be the best in China, which I thought was a little biased mainly because I had no knowledge about their cuisine. But after having watched your videos, I certainly agree! The variety and deliciousness of the Sichuan cuisine have really astonished me. Your videos have put Chengdu above the more famous and touristic cities such as Shanghai and Beijing, at least for me.
Lol I think the guy you were talking to right after you sat down was trying to tell a joke. he says he comes here twice a week. once for 3 days and once for 4 days... ie hes here everyday... then his friend laughed
Your videos make me so so so happy. They are so positive to watch! I try not to eat any animal products, but I love love food. I love these oyster mushroom and water chestnut steamed dumplings from a restaurant in the city - What do you recommend I can eat in China? I know most everything is meat, so I will settle for vegetarian. What are some things I should try in Shanghai?
Hi I'm from Shanghai and there's a really nice place called Wangjiasha 王家沙 where you can buy snacks 点心. Highly recommend xiekehuang 蟹壳黄! Also there's a really nice place that sells vegetarian food only. It's called zaozishu 枣子树. Hope this helps!
Ocicat101 im chinese. there are many vegetarian restaurants in China. you know as for Tofu we have more than 20 ways to cook it. the food in video is sauce noodles without any meat. if you dont want any mean you just tell shoper that you dont want any meat and it will be more cheaper
This is a great video! One of my faves so far. Your narration of the noodles was very descriptive and the back story of how you found the place was interesting. Please make more videos like this! :)
Hey bert! Thanks a lot for that! Sorry for the late reply, but yeah, I'm so happy for this growth and I'm happy that you are watching my videos and commenting is great too, thanks a lot bud!

Thats the way I feel about amish noodles.........I smiled through out the whole video. I was happy too. Glad you took us along those noodle did look very silky and filling and thicker than any I have seen you eat. Blessed travels!!!
This is awesome, as an American who lived in Wuhan, China, my love for Chinese food is imprinted in my brain. If you get a chance, go to 武汉湖北中国,他们有热干面很好吃。 The thing is with Chinese food in the US, you really need to live in city to get real good cuisine like NYC Flushing Queens, Boston, Chicago, or SF. I miss the chinese eating streets.
Your videos never disappoint! When you first lifted the noodles off the bowl and you see them soaked in chili oil! Ooooooo wow! BTW the video quality and editing is great. Thanks for making me hungry. Hahaha! Thanks Trevor keep exploring for us!
*Damn Trevor I'm always at awe with your happiness with the people and most with the food, please continue with your quest of the very best in China, stay safe brother always!*
Awesome video man. If you don't trust the restaurant, then take a hike haha. Hopefully I'll get a chance to eat at this place soon when I visit Chengdu
Watching your videos makes me happy too ... as you know, I really appreciate it when you interact with the local folks ... it is such a joy to see them open-up, and react to your speaking their language. They seem to immediately relax and accept you. Bud
Trevor you're killing me with these vids. It makes me want to go back to China for a visit just for the food, right now... It's extra bad for those of us who have actually had some of these dishes and can't get them now lol. Good stuff on here man. Do more excursions and see if you can cover all 7 菜系!
The Food Ranger hey man glad u answered that cause i was wondering the same thing lol love the videos! your an inspiration for me, i would love to travel asia and amd teaching myself how to speak read/write Mandarin! Be safe homeboi!
You are an ambassador of Sichuan food and culture. So many people around the world are drawn and fascinated by the experiences and food you share. The Chinese government should be paying you for your good work. They should hire you to promote their province.
you just found yourself a new subscriber and a huge follower...really appreciate your way of explaining the food and place.. awesome job ranger! keep them coming..👍
You could try to put the noodles into a plastic bag and kick it around for like 2 minutes. You will have a good distribution of sauce and the noodle shop will get famous for 'the crazy Canadian'! Maybe they will let you eat there for free!
Its crazy with China having a billion ppl living there they eat like KINGS with cheap prices. BUT here in Canada especially Toronto everything is expensive and its nothing but Mc Donalds, Wendys, just fast food joints like every mile.
New subscriber from California. I love how you interact with the locals - can tell you understand the culture pretty well, that you love Chinese people and that they love you. My husband is Chinese; would LOVE to visit China someday but until then your vids will do. Thanks Trevor!

It really is. That and pork baozi makes the perfect breakfast. America knows nothing about a good breakfast.
Alex Garvey Don't include Boston.... there is no authentic Chinese food here......well... some Taiwan snacks are okay...
Pu Xia good point, although the dim sum place is not bad and it's cheap. I'm not a fan of the gourmet dumpling house.
Cool, will do, thanks
Your videos never disappoint! When you first lifted the noodles off the bowl and you see them soaked in chili oil! Ooooooo wow! BTW the video quality and editing is great. Thanks for making me hungry. Hahaha! Thanks Trevor keep exploring for us!

best quality of life here in China especially food!
Yeah the capitalist country everything is expensive and they offer very limited variation of foods. Giant corporations control pretty much everything
