HOW was this not a "can you hear me now" commercial back in the day lol. Coach MADE me a Stillers fan. Growing up in the 70s (Im 49 this year) we always had the Steelers/Pirates parties but I never "got into" football......until the early 90s my older brother said "Dude you GOT to check out the Steelers games now, they got this new young Head Coach and he is CRAZY fired up all the time". From my first FULL game watching, I was HOOKED!! I had to watch next week and the week after that to see what this AWESOME ass Coach was going to do next lol
Agreed on all counts. Cowher was amazing, made the game more fun to watch. I loved Noll and would rank him higher on the all-time coaching list... but Cowher was my favorite, by far.
@@jeffersonianideal Oh, Don't get me wrong by Far.. Cowher was better with 2 Superbowl games. But Marty won the most NFL Reg/Playoffs games without a QB.
@@sainttrunks1982 Point taken. And just so I'm not accused of being a homer, I will go on record declaring that (with the possible exception of the 2019 season) Mike Tomlin has done less with more.
@@jeffersonianideal Tomlin got in my opinion lucky one year. Since he never made the playoffs without the Franchise Qb, and lost their last 3 *must win games* to end the season against teams that Steelers were 3+pts favorite or more to win in. I would more compare his 2019 season to Chuck Noll's 1989 season, then any of Cowhers. I know your not comparing them, but i am.
c laird He is now so is Jimmy Johnson and about goddamm time. Congadulations Sheriff J.J. and " The Chin" two no bullshittin blue collar coaches of our time. I miss them both. 😁
I have no doubts if he had an elite level QB in the 90s, Bill Cowher would've led the Steelers to some Superbowls and wouldn't have just the one. That was the one thing he lacked until they got Roethlisberger, was that elite level QB
I believe Coach Cowher was the Best Steelers coach to ever do it, (90% of his career without a Franchise QB). And *Steeler Football* left Pittsburgh with him. #WishHeNeverLeftAndComesBack2020
@@sainttrunks1982 lol I’m born, raised, and residing son, Cowher’s biggest issue was not having a good qb even tho the defense was incredible. I remember feeling terrified when Cowher left and hired the DB coach from Tampa (Tomlin), and then he won us a super bowl and took us to another. If we win this year, tomlin’s legacy will have surpassed Cowhers
@@drshitnuts143 Can you tell me what Cowher's biggest problem was then if it wasn't not a having a Franchise QB? Second Can you imagine what Cowher would have did with a Franchise QB for 14 seasons? Just food for thought
I remember watching that game. The Saints was undefeated at 5-0 and the Steelers were 3-2. The Saints finished 8-8 missed the playoffs and the Steelers finished at 9-7 made the playoffs as a wild card. They lost to the Joe Montana Chiefs in OT. The game was played in Kansas City.
Steelers fan since Bill arrived in 1992. This guy made you want to run through a brick wall for him. Hell of a Coach, greater Man.
Have you ever heard of Huey Richardson?

As has been noted, Bill Cowher did more with less than any other NFL coach in his era.
Him and Marty Schottenheimer
I'll give the nod to Cower due the spittle factor.

I would have died on the field for him! Great Coach!
A great disciple of Shottenheimer. Glad that he won a Super Bowl.
My favorite coach in NFL history bar none.
My all time favorite quote "And above all, YOU BE physical"
That chin needs to be put in the hall of fame also.

Jason WAlker yeah I know I seen the Chin got in, So happy for him. And congratulations to jimmy!
Jason WAlker I was saying that his chin needs it’s hall of fame Induction also
Bill Cowher "coached"...As a Steelers fan, I've missed this...

Rod Woodson Cornerback (93/94 NFL DPOY)
Pick 6
Saints Vs Steelers
Three Rivers Stadium 🏟
Cowher had big shoes to fill after Chuck Noll retired. I would say he did alright.
Great guy, great coach. And his sideline animations were classic 😆 😂.
When he called Neil, “O’Doyle” 💀💀💀
Look up how many Pittsburgh coaches made it in the NFL. A lot of them.
All three of them since 1969
… Can you hear me now? …
“This thing sucks!” 🤣🤣🤣
Coach always had that chin man!
You could just see when he got pissed

He didn’t seem too upset in that game against the Saints since he had faith in his players
Who Got You?.....🤣🤣
aw, he seems so mean but he's actually not
That's what a real coach is like not the clown dumblin
