      They basically did the same thing when they buffed fire ammo too, between the rain and then later Blazeborne, fire ammo has basically been as bad as it ever was even after it's buffs except a little period between the two events.

      I personally think ammo wise the explosive crossbow needs to be a delayed explosion or removed. I only say that because if someone can pick it up having never played hunt before and kill 4 or 5 people. That is a op weapon

      @@battledsoda6744 explosive crossbow already has many hard counters to it and is pretty easy to fight against given its several limitations, a new player can probably do just as well with a shotgun so I don’t think that’s necessarily an indicator that it’s overpowered, unless you have good aim the explosive crossbow is rather useless. The majority of people dying to that weapon just arnt playing around it’s limitations well enough, it’s like the nitro, very situationally strong in the right hands but will struggle and is held back by pretty serious downsides

    I'll be honest, I've complained about the flash bomb many times, but I can agree, they definitely employed a 5 step solution to something that only needed two at most.

      Now it's hard to use (long and noisy windiup), there's a hard conter to it (the perk i forgot what it's called), the effect isn't as strong
      Before it was too many positives, now it's too many negatives, can you wrap around the comcept of balance?

    I love the weather conditions. Most of the time it's always a nice challenge. If I have a sniper, I switch to another one as soon as I find one. When I'm not finding one.. well, I have to play with it. The fact that I face this challenge means that my enemy must also face it

      Yeah, I think giving a meaningful penalty for leaving games, or maybe rather not having extracts available for the first 10-15 minutes at all could be a good solution. The boats and coaches arriving later on also makes sense.

      I mean, hunt is all about the sound, and I completely agree with him on that take, but imho it’s also about the environment. I would even go so far as to say that Hunt really lives through something like that cause it stands out from the masses of games.
      It would be a shame to take away the night, fog, rain, thunder or perhaps blizzards with loud whistling sounds (like in Hatefull 8).
      Nothing to say agains periods of heavy rain and stuff thats a great idea.. just how to with fire?
      Also I have to add that I don't just play the game because of PvP. For me, PvE was the reason why I started with Hunt.
      The rest is just nice to have and Hunters either get killed or they kill me :D

      @@frajecz oof i don't think taking players hostage is a way to improve the game. It's completly fine if players don't enjoy the weather and will leave the game because if it. Snipers may leave fog and rain, because shotgun players have the option to leave sunny weather too if they wish to.

    Throughout the whole event, I only saw a flashbomb four times. One of those times, I'm the one who used it and despite the delay I still manage to flash myself and I was stabbed to death.

      I think I saw it 3 times, 2 of them from me, once the animation was so long I hit the ground from multiple hits before it could leave my hand, and the 2nd time I also flashed myself!

      I only saw a flashbomb once, and when someone was preparing to throw it at me, I asked my trio partners "whats that sound?" And then it fell in front of me and did nothing.

    about the scopes vs fog/rain thing, i always thought it'd be neat if there was a box next to your spawn that you could interact with to change any scoped rifle into its ironsighted form, even on regular maps. just like "oh, i dont feel like this scope, lemme use these tools to take it off"
    ofc they'd have to work out whether you permanently lose the scope, or get it back once you extract etc, and how that'd be coded. but i think it would work.

      I love this idea. I think you should be able to change loadout at the start of the game to deal with the rain issue. I can deal with scopes in fog. It can work. But in heavy rain its miserable. This would forgive players for 'wanting to play with scopes'. 🙂

    The weather I think is fun. Forces you to switch up and not rely so much on audio. Here and there that’s fun… my problem was the frequency of rain maps. Felt like 85% of my matches were rain maps. Should be a rare “oh hey we get a rain map” not a “dammit a rain map again?”

    I didn't get flashed the entire event and I played about 15-40 hours a week...
    It was also very apparent that Blaze-born was going to be broken on the dev notes... It should not of had the Bloodless buff...
    Demented needed a way to remove traits in game for some kind of buff or gain... and I think it should of had much more augmented traits then just Ghoul...
    Death was pretty on point in my opinion.

      ya. i loved death but inferno was just too good.
      I feel Demented was just them making a set up for making money and quick trait points. like finding an alternative source of incom for players that have lesser skills...first with smuggler letting you uncontraband guns (which i kinda wish we had more of) and now demented just giving you bonus money and a perk you might scrap for free,no effort benefit... ((course of the handful of times I DID grab it it either didnt feel like i was getting a benefit or it ended up a detrament cuz I couldnt pick up better burn traits cuz filled up on traits))

      Exactly, haven't seen others mention the demented problem. If you go into a game with two trait slots left, and forget to take off acolyte before the game, when you get your first two clues it fills those last two trait spots with random traits you probably don't want and then you couldn't buy or use remedy which was the strongest part of being demented, getting to choose when you use restoration.

    Giving the centennial dum dum after buffing the bleed of medium ammo dum dum (which was fine since it was only for springfield and drilling) is still a strange decision for me. I thought that the buffing the bleed change was fince since only a single shot and a duo shot weapon had that ammo.

      Dum dum was a nice niche ammo type which gave those guns a reason to be picked. Now, not so much unless you are a springfield enjoyer

    The rain introduced some odd issues with sound layering, I believe. Since the rain was introduced, even on non-rain maps, I have had more folks somehow sneak up behind me without making any noise whatsoever. Compound that with the sound bugs, and it seems the sound really has suffered in the last couple patches. Fixing that, the hit reg issues, and the inconsistency of explosive damage (random penetration through walls is pretty common without frags even being involved) would be the big items to address in my book.

      My hunter would randomly go deaf depending on where I'm standing on the map. Wish they would patch it.

      ​@@Paandaas Just an FYI, it isn't only you. My entire squad loses sound simultaneously. Maybe its location based and we were just too close every time we noticed it, but we never noticed it individually. I'm pretty sure its server wide when it happens.
      And for the parent comment, that's happened to us as well. Then again, we're morons so...

      I experienced the same thing. I was once in the main building of Port Reeker (not the boss lair, the other one) and a dude manages to sneak up on me without le hearing him AT ALL. Usually I can hear crouch walking from a good distance, especially in a building, and even more in total silence. This time I couldn't hear ONE step. And he got to maybe 5 meters distance

      the sound has been gradually getting worse. It became quite bad ( for me) since 1.9 when they changed underground sounds. Since then I can almost never hear someone reviving, getting up after revival, using a medkit or even crouch walking unless they are on wood and there is ZERO ambience. I often seem to get rotated on fast without hearing the other player moving at all. I used to hear people sprinting like 50m away....not anymore.

    Inferno was definitely the best.
    I was just picking it for the ignoring bleed, and being able to throw a firebomb at my feet to heal myself.
    Personally love rain. But I’m always an enjoyer of the Time of Day/Weathers that encourage me to play differently. Keeps the game interesting to me.

    On my wishlist: Witness added as a permanent trait. I loved the convenience that it brought to finding bodies after a big firefight. I didn't get to explore it as much as I would have liked, but I'm sure there's some cool strategic moves like being able to keep tabs on a gunfight you're trying to third party, seeing who's died and where as well as when they're revived could very likely be valuable information. It's just a very fun and interesting trait that I'd very willingly spend a slot on.

    I think one of the easiest changes to deal with people's issue with weather conditions, which is something I've been wanting for a long time anyway, is getting to choose contracts again. Being able to opt out of weather conditions, night maps, etc would make everyone much happier

      Having multiple contracts back in the day was what kept things fresh and not frustrating. Logically within the lore of the game SURELY a hunter would know what weather they were going out to hunt in and build their loadout accordingly, not just grab whatever guns they feel like using and walk out the door into unknown conditions. The change to one large map pool was stupid. They can find ways to try and justify it but it it was better before and I've stood by that since they changed it.

      random contracts are not the problem. the amount of „special“ weather like rain is just too annoying.
      AND we need an option to select between two or three loadouts before the match starts. that would be just perfect

      I would love weather option, would be great just to play night, fog, fire and rain only. I find clear summer day a bit dull to play often. Every now and then I like clear day for a change but think the game is so much more fun with the elements, especially if everyone in same boat and they are in that setting as they want to play it. I know plenty people would like to only play day, so filters to select what want would be great for every one.

    I finished the entire event 10 days before it ended and I saw the "shadow" trait ONCE. And heard a flashbomb going off. I don't play 17 hours a day but still it was so uncommon lol. Love these Hunt meta discussion videos.

      I finished the event more than a month before it ended, and kept playing anyway. Saw shadow 3 times, and to make it worse it disappears if you get downed. Very lame.

    Definitely agree on the flashbang. I think I saw 4 during the entire event, and they were at the beginning to I'm guessing people didn't know about the changes yet. The event traits also felt less balanced this time around. The last event (The one that had smuggler) felt like all 3 events were decent choices. This event, anytime I didn't have Inferno, I knew I was intentionally choosing the lesser option, and it was so frustrating that after the first week, I was still like "are they... are they seriously going to make me play 2 months with half my enemies being immune to fire and bleed?"

      I disagree I only almost used the death path in duos and trios
      the Inferno was not at all my playstyle so it was almost useless to me, I very often go around and shoot from afar and then loot afterwards and get my bars back,, I don't like randomly getting my bars back and I don't like having to push myself put myself in a situation with less health just to get my health back or if I just take more than 25 damage then I lose the thing that would give me my health back
      so it was not useful for me and also withness was my favorite trait this entire event, at some point could see a solo stand up after a fight and we immediately when and killed them and knew they were a solo because I could see seven people were dead

    Rain disupting the normal sound flow is what makes it cool. Same for fog and line of sight. Some people are too competitive, and just leave, which sucks.

      @@scottthomas8721 people who leave rain matches do it by leaving before the start screen flashes and you can start moving your hunter. If you do this you can save your hunter with no penalty.

    I doubt this will happen because they already put the effort into animating it and all but my preferred flashbomb change would be to REVERT the latest patch's changes BUT allow players to see their surroundings in Dark Sight when flashed. This preserves its strength but it gives counterplay by enabling movement and map knowledge to factor in. No more running blindly into walls.

      That's actually pretty smart and probably not too hard to implement. You couldn't fight back because of using dark sight but still would have a chance to escape. Plus it would totally fit the lore of the game

    I will say the pick rates are also determined by legendary hunters. Players like me play our favorite skins, one of mine is reaper so my most picked trait was death. But as soon as I unlocked the burnt marshal I played him solely for blazeborn, it was just too good to pass up. Love these talk videos by the way it really shows you care about the game!

    My proposed buff to the flash bomb would be keeping the animation, but once you've shaken it it will stake ready for the next thirty or so seconds. So you can put it away and do what you need to do, the whip it out when you wanna throw a flash.

    I feel that a lot of this event was a trial towards longer firefights. I feel the regen buff was great for this. My advice towards immunity is if you’re bringing it in one event such as fire, don’t touch the others such as bleed. The fact that they brought immunity to all three and in one pact was broken. Rampage was broken. Getting bars back is a better alternative than people extracting cause they are at half life but don’t do it in a firefight, make them go to a wagon or kill the boss to get them back. Some of these solo players were literally unkillable. When you’ve killed somebody like 5 times and you can’t burn them out or trap them out and then they just keep getting up and kill one hunter and have all their life and resurrections back in a firefight? Cmon.

      I'm assuming the third immunity is poison from the antidote shot. IMO it should only prevent poison damage but not the poison anti-heal/screen warp. That way it doesn't completely subvert mithridatism and remove all the poison gameplay. Infernal Bloodless could have caused a small amount of HP char as a tradeoff for the bleed cleanse, your wounds are cauterized after all.

      @bigoofoof6351 it absolutely was a boost to solos, but I believe it made playing solo more viable in general. It lowered the skill floor and raised the ceiling in regards to viable strategies. It has absolutely made fights against solos harder but that has only added to my fun as a duo and trio hunter, as now it feels like there is more diversity in the solo strategy.

    I find playing in rain very difficult, mostly because of audio. It changes the game drastically for me, and that's exactly why i love it. But i also understand most people don't like change and greater difficulties.

      @@Zerocharade they're both bad... I died to a gun that ran on mud..up wooden stairs and then behind me on wood and only finally heard him when he was 5m away with his shotgun. It's just dumb. I also got surprised by a guy running in water until again... I was 5m away. The rain absolutely kills the audio. Can't even hear a frag fuse.

I can deal with fog and night maps because while my sight might be hampered, I can still at least hear them well enough. Heavy rain, not so much, normal rain is perfectly fine for me at least.

      @@ramsaybolton9151 if you’re having that bad of an issue hearing during normal rain then you might need to either tweak your sound settings or headset. Kinda weird that you were able to keep track with the guy until the last minute. Also Gator legs is a thing, or could’ve been waiting in the water before moving again. I pretty much have zero issue with sound queues during normal rain. But absolutely hate heavy rain as it impairs my sight and sound.

    I love the weather conditions. The turn every compound into a completely new beast, it's fucking amazing how much difference it makes. Plus, no longer have to deal with snipers sitting 5983126976867834761147-68 miles away completely not interacting with me.

    I have immense respect for Mike because no other partner will risk talking bad about the game in fear of losing their crytek partner badge and only mike dared to make this video. Literally the only genuine streamer who actually cares about the community AND the game and dared to speak up about their abysmal lack of communication, patches and support during the event.

      Bro HomeReel has criticized Hunt for years while being a partner and Crytek hired him. Nobody is afraid to speak up about the problems with Hunt. I’ve seen almost every partner speak out about their disagreements with the devs. Sure, Mike is the biggest so his voice carries a lot of weight, but to act like he is the only one speaking up is a bit ridiculous.

      Oh, c'mon now, lol.
      I don't think a mid-event patch for balance is an unreasonable request from the community unless Crytek has some extremely good reason they haven't communicated on that front.
      But overall, to think that support and communication from Crytek is "Abysmal" is an opinion totally disconnected from reality. Crytek is at minimum above average in those respects, and I would go so far as to say they are the "Gold Standard" by which many other games would do well to at least match.
      Can they communicate better, and provide better support? Yes. Do other "live service" games provide better communication and support? Probably a few. But "Abysmal"? Really? Please come back to the "Grounded Pact", lol.
      But also props to Mike for being clear and upfront with how he feels about recent events & patches. Even though I disagree with probably half his opinions in this video, he brought up good points and I do believe the vast majority of his opinions represent sizeable cross sections of the community and are valuable feedback.

    I agree with almost everything you have to say here, and the things I disagree with are so minor that I wouldn't be bothered if they implemented something closer to your thoughts rather than mine.
    Personally I hope that Crytek/Hunt stops balancing weapons by way of price. It's a terrible metric to balance a game on, and an even worse one in Hunt.
    As somebody who has played 80% of his time in Hunt solo this event made solos far too powerful. You nailed it all on the head with the immunity to everything, the easy ways to get your bars back instantly, and the changes to traits to benefit solo players as well.
    As a Live Ops/Games as a Service game, Hunt NEEDS to be able to live update during events. This hands off approach during events except for what they deem "EXTREME" issues is really a big problem.
    Loved this video and definitely second the vast majority of the opinions in it. I love Hunt. I've been playing for almost 3K hours over the past 4 years. It's getting harder and harder to get friends to stick around when there are such glaring issues that pop up sometimes.

    With all due respect, I'm not burning out because of event traits. I'm burning out because battlepasses are soul rending.
    Hunt feels like a second job when I have to clock in to do all my challenges for the week.
    I've grown to resent Hunt instead of loving it like I did. Now when the battle pass is finished and/or there's no event I stay far away in hopes that I can get over the burnout before the next event comes.

    I agree with all the points, well said. I'd even go so far as to say I'm no longer excited for events and haven't been for awhile now due to these insane perks. I get changing things for freshness but they do go too far/get too op sometimes.

    I agree with a lot of things u say :-) Here is my 2cents…
    Flash Bomb: It was too strong. Getting killed by it felt unjustified. Getting kills with it (I used it, since everyone used it, and counter flashing was basically the only way to defend against…), also felt kinda unjustified. Not really fun. I am happy with them nerfing it out of existence. I agree that they nerfed it VERY hard, but I like it. Wouldn’t mind if they could be found in the match, tho.
    Map and Audio-Fatigue: I liked rain, inferno, … I am a pushy shotgun Rambo and I like not having many snipers in my lobby’s, but yeah… it drains u a little bit. If you have long hunt-sessions u really feel an audio-fatigue and yeah… it can be stressful. good thing they asked about fatigue in the survey.
    Sth u didn’t mention that people are crying about:
    Yes. I am also crying and hating about. But, the Headsman is a topic I can’t hear anymore, so please, for the love of satan - nerf it. It is draining, it takes the fun out. It’s the most used skin right now for a reason. It does give u an advantage and thats unfair. I hate it with passion. Some Matches from 12 players there are 5 headsmans. It’s stupid and absurd and annoying and I hate it.
    Love killing Headsmans tho.
    I really really enjoyed the Event and I wont stop playing Hunt. The devs are amazing and all my critisism comes from a very respectful and loving heart. But as in every healthy relationship, u must be allowed to say what the fuck is annoying and needs to be fixed.

    Bush Wookie Sniper checking in. it's not your imagination, Mike. People with medium and long scopes routinely bail out of fog and rain maps. I'm surprised you didn't suggest bringing back map choice options like we had during the first(?) year of Hunt. There used to be two bounty choices - one was a random map like it is today, the other choice you knew what kind of weather was occurring. If I knew I was going into a fog, rain or night map, I would happily choose the appropriate load out and play the map.

    The problem with conduit was that it nerfed for solos and buffed for teams. It should have a "solo" setting and a "team" setting like the other solo vs team perks

    The flash bomb could do something like a more intense poison effect for a few seconds, blurry visuals and distorted audio (probably the same effect as shooting multiple rounds). This, along with bringing back the old wind-up, would make it both useful and have some counter play.

    The finials has the option to reserve weapons and gadgets right before you enter the map, and it give you the details of the map, so that could be something they could add to the hunt

    I think that during the matchmaking waiting period, they could let the player know what conditions they will get and give them 2 minutes to change or pick their loadouts if they want to. That way the player has something to do while waiting for everyone to join the game.

    You hit every point I myself have been thinking about during the last 2 months.
    I think a backup loadout option would be smart because tactically speaking people plan for weather conditions.
    Like if you were to go dear hunting, you typically wouldn't go at night unless you had a thermal scope.
    I think they might want to rethink pre pledged characters. I have never seen so many black coats before and with bloodless they can just remove enough starting traits to enter their first match with an immunity to bleed.

    Flash: Keep the bulwark changes, but let the flashbomb be quicker to throw. Let people who truly hate them have an option to counter them, and let them work normally on people who don't care.
    Conduit: 5 minutes for first clue, 3 minutes for second clue, 2 minutes for 3rd clue and 1-2 minutes for bounty. Could still be clutch but not like 2 free stam shots like it used to be.
    Custom Ammo: Every gun is gonna have every type of ammo in an event or two. Turning game mechanics into event rewards is a pretty bad idea.
    Baseball Bat: Meh.
    Berthier: Meh.
    Bornheim Silencer: Fun but not really for me.
    Uppercut P + Uppercut P Deadeye: Should probably both cost more (and uppermat should probably cost less, considering it's only marginally better than a centennial shorty but 4x the price)
    Springfield Bayonet: Wasn't a problem before the bayonet, isn't a problem after.
    Cyclone: Kinda meh. In the right hands I'm sure it's a beast, but I think I saw it maybe 5-6 times total through the event. Price is justified just to keep spam down. (honestly no more semi auto weapons)
    Rain: It feels really atmospheric and cool. It looks great. It's very comfy. But I absolutely DESPISE playing in rain. For a game so dependent on sound, it's just a non starter for me, to the extent that I just straight up leave the match. (And before anyone yaps about snipers, I play almost exclusively short range loadouts.)
    Demented pact: Perfect. It was the exact kind of quirky stuff I expect from traits, instead of auto-take game breaking stuff.
    Death pact: Being able to loot back healthbars was awesome. Being able to keep them when you died, not so much. Nobody should get back up with 150hp. Ever.
    Infernal: Blatantly, obnoxiously broken. Crytek should be embarrassed that pact made it to live server. Not fun to play against. Not even fun to use. Sure it was fun being an unstoppable shotgun juggernaut getting my full healthbar back with every trigger pull... for the first 3 games... but it got old quick.
    Balance during event: HARD AGREE. I was hoping they were going to do something about the traits, but instead we got two months of the game being in a pretty sorry state.
    Off topic, NECROMANCER: Personally I've come to realize that self necro isn't the issue. The buff to resilience plus the event traits plus (maybe) antidote shots making you completely immune to poison are the real culprits. If solo's only got up with 100hp, could be burned and weren't immune to every status effect in the game nobody would care if someone could stand back up.
    Personally, I would like to see them keep the ability to get healthbars back, but keep it to looting dead hunters or going to a cart.

    I think everyone will agree that the rain event is a really nice welcome change added to the game, the fact that it’s dynamic is very cool and means you don’t have the same thing for too long.
    I feel that the interval at which they change and how long that last is fine but my only issue is that I think the heavy rain is just a bit too loud.
    Heavy rain starts and I just can’t even hear myself think, people I’m talking to in discord start speaking louder, you literally can’t hear very core audio cues like a frag cooking but can somehow hear the throw sound effect- by then it’s too late anyway.
    I’d be happier with the rain if it was quieter, it’s just too loud and takes away a bit too much of the core aspects of the game.
    My other big gripe is like some sort of weird inconsistency with the low visibility effects, I swear I’m getting shot at by people who I literally cannot see what so ever, I’m just looking straight Into thick white fog and then I die. Looking in the killview it’s like clear as day for them- like what???

      Derendering has been a issue they have been dealing with if they think your de rendering they actually will ban you now. Although that’s not really a solution because it’s a graphics setting not cheats so you can’t really stop anybody from doing it.

    I just started playing hunt showdown during the Tide of shadows event, and I recently found your channel and have been watching it to get better at solo play. I have to say this video was really well put together and I feel that even as a beginner these takes on some of the balancing were really fair and well thought out for all parties involved, excellent video my dude👌

    A lot of the problems you mentioned could be solved by rotating out certain elements each month.
    They will keep adding new content, but maybe a shop system that is "out of stock" of certain types of ammo each month.
    Or the weather, this week it's only a small chance for rain, no night maps, next month, there's no fog but there is fire.
    This way you can keep the variety without it being overwhelming.

    I have close to 4k hours in this game and I stopped playing after I finished the event and I honestly dont plan on getting in anytime soon again.

    I agree with most of the topics discussed in this video: weapons, ammo, traits and pactsbalance, deleted flash bomb, etc..
    The main issue for was that the forest fire event felt like an endless rain. What the actual heck. I played with my friend yesterday, and when I got on a rain map, I honestly wanted to alt+f4 and never play the game at least til the end of the year
    Sad that fire maps were only through fryday to sunday, yes, that's schedule issue, but I am still sad about it
    About pacts: playing infernal for 6 weeks straight I triggered rampage... 2 or 3 times. Our duo is either alive or dead, or if it was a win after all, you get revived after the clutch. So last 2 weeks was only death pact for me, because finding corpses and restoring bars by looting was great

    I for one love the rain map. I can't stress this enough - I love it :)
    As for pacts - I found myself taking death pact all the time. Inferno was a little much, I do agree. Felt no desire to use it myself, but there were a few encounters where I came up against people running it with bloodless and it did tend to be a harder encounter. It would indeed be nice if they would adjust issues like that after the start of an event.

    i think they should switch the damage of the Uppermat and Uppercut. Uppermat is a 2 slot weapon, it should be the one tap after down weapon. Uppercut is one slot less so you have the advantage of taking a full sized primary without quatermaster.

    Great critique, hopefully Crytek takes some notes instead of going on vacation until the next event. That being said, honestly I would LOVE to see a new map as well as these changes. Something with a large town in it.

    Agree with everything. I personally wish custom ammo was only for weapons that are harder to use, like hand crosswbow, bow, single shot weapons. I don't mind bleeding to a bow hit, but to any gun? Not so much

    i loved how easy it was to get bars back with the event. a lot of the time in my 3-4 star matches i have rando teamates leave once they're down a bar. now its easy to get back in the fight, and there is always the possiblity to turn a fight quickly. imo it lead to a lot more fun pvp, which is my main reason for enjoying the game.
    i hate flash bombs, im happy to see them gone

    I couldn't agree more about the traits. I am so done with core mechanics like fire not working for 2 months... I usually like to run bow as a stealth option but stop bleed just ruined it.

    Having alt loadout options runs the possibility of shotgun/cqc only lobbies which lowers diversity in encountered loadouts. But I also understand that there will be no actual use of scoped rifles in fog/rain maps anyway... I can imagine if there was an option for alt/cqc loadouts, compounds will be full of shotguns. Might be fun idk haha. I dont really have a better suggestion though. Maybe if rain/fog can clear up during matches, gives some chances for scopes to be used

    So first of all, I was for years the Databook for the Hunt Events in my gaming group. I was able to list perks, weapons, etc. without thinking about it.
    Now I'm sitting here watching your entire video and don't know what the skills of Demented and Death Pact were. No clue what they were there for. We just didnt used it.
    Also, my group did not follow the event purposefully, we were quickly bored because you were limited, some weapon combinations were simply obsolete, FOR WEEKS. Im glad this is over now.
    Still i‘am by you mike, Hunt is (one of the/ maybe the) best Shooter ever created. And that opinion doesn't change after an event. But I do not wish to experience such an event again.
    So I can completely understand your points & think they are valid.

    I think rain/fire would be easier to swallow if the odds of them happening were just lower. Make them slightly more rare than fog and so you don't see them all the time. Maybe once or even 0 times a session

      We played last night and most of our matches were either rain, fog or night. We play with scopes so that was kind of a problem. It's not balanced at all. The people running this show are clueless.

    Finally someone BIG speaking up about all this nonsense Crytek is doing lately. I hate to see the current state Hunt is in after 3,500 hours playtime. It was absolutely fantastic 1-2 years ago, but it's going in the completely wrong direction unfortunately.
    The first duo I ran into after the event had Centennial DumDum (with Iron Repeater) + Officer DumDum, and a Drilling DumDum with Flechette. DumDum, especially on the Centennial, rewards players with bad aim, and this is no longer fun to play against. I had a fresh hunter without Bloodless and Physician, and they just had to hit me in the torso once to close a 50-60 meter gap and finish me off before I was able to find cover and heal. I can't imagine facing a trio with such a loadout anymore.
    The baseball bat is completely broken. The longest melee weapon in the game gets a small slot (!) with stamina consumption only the dusters can compete with. Plus one shot to the torso? Makes absolutely zero sense, and I refuse to play it.
    Regen shot buff + Vigor is broken. I hardly ever have to use a med kit, unless I face DumDum ammo as I can stop the bleed and fully heal (if I take Doctor which I hardly do lately) at the same time.
    Flash bomb is completely dead, agreed.
    Uppermat is completely useless after the introduction of the Uppercut P.
    I always leave rain games. I agree Hunt's USP is sound, and I'd like to hear someone lightfooting a ladder 5 meters away. I died more often in rain games then on non-rain maps, and I figured the reason is sound, not skill.
    Event traits were not balanced at all, agreed. The last events were way too long, with Corruption I was bored after 2-3 weeks and couldn't stand the last month.
    Why the devs thought this game needed Beetles and a surveillance mechanic I will never understand.

      Agree with many of your points. Especially regen shot with vigor has pretty much negated Doctor and physician traits as well as other healing shots since it's almost always just faster to run away dark sighting while healing super fast instead of standing still and slowly trying to heal with a vit shot or med kit.
      As for Uppermat, it's at least stable and the shotgun is still strong with slugs and has more ammo. Also the Uppercut Precision is not as stable for repeated shots for some reason. The animation wobbles around more than the Uppermat when returning after a shot.
      For rain maps, at least it's loud for everyone. So in that way, it is skill based. You need to learn the new sounds, like wet footsteps slopping around.
      Also beetles can be legit fun even if not that strong currently. I don't see it being worth getting mad at them for existing.

    I said it before in other videos and the survey, what killed the engagment for me and my group of friends with hunts is the removal of daily win and zero rewards for extracting with bounty (weathers are great, never ever extracted or thought about doing it based on map)

    personally if all they did is either keep the long animation for the flash Bomb, or make it so it blinds in 2-4-6 second phases the longer it’s held was all that was necessary for it.

    Flash was OP - I had it on all my presets, often ran 2 when I used shottys because flashing the entire lair with the super fast start up was dumb. The only time I saw it during the event was when I forgot to take it off my presets after realizing the nerf. Think they should go to just the longer animation and revert the rest of the changes. Might use it again on some loadouts.
    Conduit was OP a bit - Always picked it basically. Think the nerf to 3 minutes alone would be fine. Often if unlucky you get maybe 1 clue and the boss gets banished, so you get 3 mins stamina. Silly. The real issue for me as a mostly solo player, serpent from 50m then immediately run to a double clue was VERY strong. Could almost always beat others to the boss lair on 1 boss maps.
    Ammo- basically agree
    Weapons - Delete the rail hammer, bat is basically better.
    Berthier - fine,
    Bornheim - fine
    Uppercut - agree with you, strong enough to hunt a moose. Also deletes Uppermat
    Springy - Literally why was it not in the game already? Most likely gun to have a bayonet irl
    Cyclone - Worse than Officer Carbine imo, delete the gun
    Rain - Make the heavy rain 2-3mins, every 10-15min so it comes in 2 or 3 times a match only. Also I played 5 matches the other day, 1 fog, 1 night, 3 rain. All I was trying to do was snipe Sadge.
    Maybe allow loadout choice during the first 30s or so would be fine.
    Not gonna comment about the traits, think you said it well. Actually I will say something. The last day I played the event (same day I played the aforementioned matches) I have screenshots of the results screens. US East, 6-8 solos a match, every match.
    Last point - Not to sound rude to the devs or anything I love this game, but I think they have no clue how to balance the game properly. Flash bomb was waaaay off, pacts were waaay off, gun prices waaay off. Think they need to maybe work more with hunt partners or something around the balancing in the future. Great vid though.

    For me, the only problem with rain and weather is how often I want to just have a regular match of hunt with normal visibility and I get saddled with one of the hyper-intense weather conditions. Back in the day, it was basically either daytime or nighttime, sometimes you'd throw in a little fog, and that was it. Now, there's so many possible weather conditions that getting a daytime match feels like a rare treat, one which I have to savor. I know it's a playerbase size issue, but it will never not annoy me that we can't really choose which weather conditions we want.

    One idea is that if certain weather conditions are in effect the bounty is worth more or something like a 20% boost to hunt dollars gained is added at the end. That would for sure make less people leave and it would make some sense because those matches are certainly harder when its heavy raining at night or whatever.

    100% agree. Especially with that weather topic. I as a marksman enjoyer find the weather changes annoying. Marksman variants are kinda useless against iron sight guns in those conditions. Little forecast in the menu would be nice for example

    I love the breakdown of your thoughts based on your 8k hours of loving this game. I hope they get heard.
    Some things I would love:
    SpyGlass - I feel like there is potential here, 1 make its melee similar to the baseball bat. 2. Have it tag an enemy precisely.
    FastTravel - hear me out, some form of speedier travel during a banishing, maybe up to 100m from the point, or include a panting mechanic similar to poisoned after use. It really stinks spawning at a 1 bounty map, and it starts banashing within 1 min, and you're the entire map away. It just becomes a running sim at that point. Or, maybe one of those pump-up-and-down railroad cars :).

    I think map wise the whole problem is with the contract system, if the contract conditions are too specific they split the playerbase which can potentially result in long queue times or unfilled matches. I think letting players be a bit more specific with what they want to play (having a no night maps or no fog/no rain tick boxes or something would be better). Then you can also allow players to queue for 'all contracts' for a moderate bounty bonus to help fill out the queues so that all of the people who just want to play night maps or whatever aren't stuck only with other players also only queuing for night maps.

    Agreed the baseball bat is probably waaaay too good.
    Did some testing vs Bomb Lance and it was pretty hilarious.
    Baseball bat (1 slot) can get 14 one tap kills running in a circle and still be okay for stamina. (This was on the shooting range, its one tap potential against players is insane.) Range is ALMOST Bomb Lance range too. Me and a buddy of mine did BL vs Baseball bat and in most cases the bomb lance JUST outranges the baseball bat. In most cases however it was a trade.
    Bomb Lance (3 slot) cannot get 14 one tap kills running in a circle, closer to 4 actually...before your stamina just runs out.
    Range once again is suprisingly low compared to a baseball bat.
    I think the main changes they should make to the baseball bat is:
    -Reduce the range
    -Reduce the damage model drastically for a light swing.
    (-Maybe reduce the charged attack, though Im against this as Ive been enjoying the baseball bat being a melee main.)
    -If you changed nothing, (idk why you wouldnt nerf this though tbh as there is no reason to go with any other melee option at this time) I would suggest buffing all the other options perhaps. Bomblance increased range, increased bleed on machete, etc.
    I wouldnt touch the price, as thats a really silly way to try and nerf stuff. Im not an amazing player and I dont really worry about money in this game.
    Honestly, Id just reduce damage and range of the baseball bat. Id be shocked if they dont have a baseball bat with barb wire as a baseball bat with bleed. (Hear me out, the baseball bat has a FAST swing. Better than probably all the other melee options save for maybe machete)
    Couldnt agree more with the Flashbomb. I didnt really use it but my coop buddy used it a lot...not anymore.

    How about a change at the resupply Point: You can switch your Loadout/Primary Weapon in Exchange for an upgrade Point or something like that. Or you can customize your Loadout again while an extra minute of preparation at the spawn point.

    Thank you for speaking out mike! Honestly it was Abysmal that Crytek did not patch the game a single time this event but in the meantime, there are blatant audio bugs, infernal being meta and demented being the weakest pact ever. I've played over 100 hours this event and did not touch anything except infernal, did not even try them.. there was zero incentive to pick something clearly weaker than the meta pact.
    Also, it 100% cannot be resources because they're selling DLCs every few weeks, each legendary prices are touching 2000 BBs and DLCs cost $10 and even $15.
    How about dedicating a minute fraction of that towards the anti-cheat or even patching the bugs!

    The potential for incorporating one of the three status effects into each of the pacts was such low-hanging fruit imho, but it was all piled onto the infernal pact (and i understand the flavor reasons, cauterizing wounds is a dope concept).
    For infernal, fire immunity was an obvious choice, and i wish salveskin would have been their buffed trait.
    Death and Demented could have gone either way, I can see arguments made for either one gaining poison or bleed immunity, and then their buffed traits could have been mithridatist and bloodless respectively.
    Just some ideas off the top of my head:
    - gaining dark sight boost while standing in a poison cloud
    - all melee damage inflicts poisoned condition (butt of gun and knife)
    - sacrifice health chunks to create vitality shots / regen shots
    - certain ai ignore you / fight for you based on if they inflict poison or bleed damage (hives vs hell hounds for example)
    - killing someone spawns a small bit of concertina wire on their body
    obviously these all need balancing, but i just thought of those in 5 minutes. So much missed potential imo

    @25:22 New Weapons: I think it would be really funny to get a rope. Imagine you could catch Helldog with it and let them search in a compound for enemies, build some new traps at the bottom or preparing it amoung the chains so you could stuck with the head in it. :D

    Joar, I can agree with your views, I am also of the opinion that crytek should not have patched the flashbomb completely out of the game, in my opinion it would have been enough that Bullwark reduces the effect and maybe also the animation only with the difference that it should not be so loud.
    You're definitely right about the ammo changes, I also think limiting the ammo types for the weapons would help the balancing, I think they might have come up with new ammo types, even if you wonder what kind of ammo types. What comes to my mind spontaneously would be decoy ammo type for silencers or for ranged weapons ammo types that sound like shotguns and reversed but I don't know if this would be good and useful, it's just a idea.
    Regarding the weather and loadout change, I think that this should also be limited for balancing, if you only get the possibility to change the weapons and not the rest of the equipment. In my honest opinion even only one of the two weapons with free whale which you take as an alternative. If you were allowed to change both weapons, I would restrict this from one pool with 2 weapons per weapon, that's how I see it. This is because I believe that restricting features that allow the player a certain amount of freedom keeps the balance and too much freedom would unbalance it.
    At the very least, I had played a few games in the past that were very broken due to updates that brought too much freedom to the balancing.

    I hope the devs take the time to listen to you Mike and not just write it off as criticism. Because you really get it. Since the day they announced the flash bomb changes I've been saying they over-did it and I would've been okay with everything EXCEPT making them un-obtainable from consumable boxes. That's just too much. Mostly when people used flash bombs in the past, it was because they picked them up from boxes. I don't think I've ever brought one into a game unless I was playing solo.

    My trio brings snipers for 1 match each time we play. If it's fog, we get absolutely wild in the bayou. It's still a total blast.
    We rotate between 3 and 5 stars. Because we play for fun. :)

    i agree... they could change the inf pact during the event.. last time they did it aswell that ur hunters do get deleted when u get killed and left the round. during this event they fix it also ... so mike u are right in this point! nice vid btw and nice explainings.

    I was definitely one of the people crying about flash bombs, but I can't believe what they did to it. Like, four giant nerfs that just one of would be enough. Makes absolutely no sense.

    As a primarily solo player myself, couldn't agree more with your opinions on the event traits.
    I played Infernal Pact nearly the entire event because neither of the other pacts were even close when it came to power level - I ended up never even trying the demented pact. What I found so disheartening was that the Death Pact, and namely the witness trait, was my FAVORTIE event trait to be introduced thus far. Not only did it give resources in the sense of body locations, but it gave SO MUCH information - is that player still down? Oh - there's a trail of mob deaths; players are close. Oh snap - new mob death; players are right there! That was SOOO enjoyable to play around, and I barely played with it because Blazeborne was so overtuned. I really hope to see more design traits around dark sight - imagine a "Daredevil" like echo location instead of audio queues with increasing sensitivity on proximity.

    About weather. I'd like to see changing weather during match. So on the one hand snipers wouldn't leave matches because of fog or rain and on the other hand knocked guys could have a chance to run away from snipers during minutes of rain or fog

    there is a lot of truth in it 👍 especially the audio topics... audio is one of the best things Hunt has to offer... and the designs just try to eliminate the use of it - that is not a really clever overall strategy, I think.
    regarding the rain: in my headset, the heavy rain ist sooo freaking loud, that it is not about "can I hear audio clues" (I cannot), but it is just a stressing level of output, so I am forced to take down audio to 40% to keep the ability to concentrate in general...
    So yes, the heavy rain phase should be a bit shorter... and overall... it would not be a negative change to the rain maps, if the loudness of heavy rain was kinda like light rain, and light rain even more a small bit softer... that would be awesome 💚
    But still a big shoutout to the hard work of the devs... Hunt is a game, where you can feel the spirit of them in every round 🖖

    Here are my thoughts, because you asked!
    Flashbomb = put it in the small crossbow corner. A flashbomb bolt ignites on impact, blinds for 1,5 seconds,
    give a tinnitus like ringing effect blocking step sounds for 3 seconds.
    Three bolts is the ammo amount. Inside in darkness etc. is more effective than in the open at daytime.
    Good for enter Lairs, good to distract when get hunted down.
    Abusive using is not that profitable, its more like meme i think.
    A trait, call it Suneyes, may reduce the effects.
    I like the machete skin dark whip ir kinda, but the machete looses to the bat, kinda unreal^^
    Weather:
    Give it a expensive trait called audiofocus, reduces weather effects from 100% to 25% noise, let you hear players and monsters better.
    Event Traits:
    If you are a upper mediocre 4 star trio facing a lobby with three equal trios and three 5 star solos, you´re fucked.
    trios will shred each other because trios egange regardless. we´re three, nothing can kill us...
    after that, last standing trio faces solo for solo for solo, because rat solos the most sneak bushes, look around, think over
    enemy movement, got the ears on the rails, gamble some traps at supply points, always an ear on the lairs, and then, when its quite,
    they go sparksing the ripped rest of the last trio.
    one solo from the north, one from south, one from east... all nekros. all long ammo.yeah its gg, you are fucked!
    from that point i have to say nekro should stay, but needs a nerv. its okay ingame, but like today its a bit salty.
    Future events:
    More skin based. We should have to make a real decision. you can´t get all, just the path you choose this time.
    Hunt´s skins are a great part of art. Realy love them, they and the whole art are also a pillar of hunt.
    Often i catch myself surfing the shop yout to take a look, not to buy em all but look at them, its simply nice.
    Hunt have to force that, because its uniqe. A cruel horror outfit and gunporn weaponry lore is catching me. I realy like the art.
    If in an event the traits impacts are less, but you got to make a choice wich skin(´s) you will get and wich not, its more of a heavy decision wich brings deepness.
    Skins bring us more skins, let us decide hart between them, dont let us have them all easy. bring wheigt to the skins, not the camo op stil.
    yust the based hunt:showdown stil.

    Maybe a good fix for Infernal woul've been:
    -Blazeborne changes to Cauterize - Bleeding is reduces (you bleed slower or you get the lesser level of Bleed e.g. Medium-DumDum-Ammo makes you bleed slightly)
    -Infernal Pact no longer benefts from Bloodless but from the Trait Salveskin, where they get the original Blazeborne effect.
    In this case Hunters would need 2 Traits (Salveskin + Bloddless) + 1 Event Trait to come even close to what we got this Event with Infernal.

    Weather is great but I want it more dynamic. Imagine seeing the rain clouds incoming or being local to a few compounds. Fog lifting when you are being chased by rifles...

    My issue with events is they are too long. I loved them at the beginning, but ever since they are months long, it gets too tedious, too grindy. And I think with shorter events, the patching wouldnt be necessary either.

    People are all proposing some crazy specific things to cover several issues coming with random maps only...But they forgot the very simple and already very much existant filter system...Authorize players to take a limited number of map conditions out of the matchmaking so they can take the most unfavorable ones out, the only downside would be higher queue time but I don't think it would be too harsh...

    I think the biggest issue with hunt events is the lack of consistent balance changes. If even a single patch happened during the event that nerfed even the tiniest bit of the regent shot or blaze borne it would have made the whole thing better.

    A mid-event patch like mid-season patches for comp shooters would have fixed this event for me but this event marks the start of a plateau on my enjoyment graphic after so many events that were increasingly more fun each and every time. I simply grinded the points and didn't look back at the game yet. One of my friends even considered if the amount of fun Hunt could provide them is expiring. Heavy rain really needs some adjustments, we get headaches.
