This was the most helpful broccoli rabe video I’ve found (out of many!), especially with regard to harvesting at the right stage.

Your video was really helpful! I tried growing some for the first time this year, but my plants don't look anything like yours, so I'm pretty sure they bolted when it got hot. It's really helpful to see all the stages of growth. Thanks!

I sowed seeds early and planted them outside in May. We had one week of warmer weather which made them bolt. We are still having cool nights in the low 40's we live in a short season area now so I'll try this crop again for a fall and winter vegetable. Yesyerday I harvested and ate the leaves from many stalks and they were still delicious . Despite the fact they have bolted and are flowering.

I'm growing this for the first time this year. I think I may have started at the wrong time as I have seedlings growing but I think they will probably bolt as it's the start of summer. I will plant some more in a few weeks which will hopefully grow well when it starts to get a bit cooler.

Are the pots plastic? If so, you have to find the ones that have no BPA, bisphenol. Typically these are only the ones made in USA, not China, but you have to check it because it will leach into the food. If they are ceramic or clay type, then there is a concern about lead, cadmium, and heavy metals, also from China.

Thanks for your video. Do you know why broccoli rabe doesn’t produce florets? Mine are about 2 feet tall with no florets. Many thanks.

    • @EasyPeasyGardening

They produce very thin and sparse florets, that's how this variety is

did you drill holes in the bottom of that container? I started mine about 3 weeks ago and the leaves are still small; I wonder if it's because the container is too wet. Thank you for sharing this video!

Great video! Do you know how high the plants grow to, when it's at its tallest? And if you can control the height somewhat by pruning it off earlier? Want to grow it indoors and need to plan out the height/space. Thank you.
