Thanks for an excellent presentation Related: If a physician suggests a stain due to hypercholesterolemia, invest in a calcium heart CT scan prior to agreeing. Despite of lifetime a 250 total cholesterol, a borderline Chol/HDLC ratio, high "bad fat", and normal "good" fat .... at age 56, my calcium score is 0. Meaning, less than 1% chance of arteriosclerosis plaque. Therefore, I would have zero benefit from a statin, ....and therefore, zero reason to take a statin.
Ca MRI of Heart checks heart... What about atherosclerosis in most common site - abdominal aorta, leading to aneurysms..or throws emboli to heart or brain causing heart attack or stroke.
@@glaucomflecken This is a CT scan, not MRI As far as I know, the heart AND major arteries/classic problem areas are scanned.... my physician is very satisfied with the procedure, and results.....especially compared to patients of similar age It's "normal" for my family on the maternal side to have "high cholesterol" ...all live past age 95, with no strokes or heart disease.
@@glaucomflecken My scan did include the aorta....don't recall if ab aorta specifically...... I'm told all classic "problem" sites are scanned.,,,5 locations were noted....each with a zero score. So, even if the ab aorta was not scanned....it's a statistical zero probability that calcium exists there, or elsewhere.
