This was the best thing I ever found. I read the material I do not even know how many times and this video did the trick. Me passing nursing school just got a lot easier. Thank you.
Just wonderful, been searching for "removing arterial plaque build up" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Nanarter Harloffe Smasher - (do a search on google )? It is a great one of a kind product for learning how to reduce your cholesterol level without the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my m8 got excellent results with it.
Armando's videos are just incredible. His illustrations are low-tech and to the point...a very refreshing alternative to overly complicated CG animations. His explanations are clear and easy to follow. His videos make the case that no amount of technology will ever replace good teaching!
Hello Armando, im very thankful for your work. i passed physiology exam by studying from your videos and now im studying pathophysiology again from your videos, i hope ill pass this one too :) thanks for helping us
so impressed. Thank you. The combination of illustrating and key facts in a storyboard is a powerful learning tool, pathophysiology in a step-by-step format, unbeatable
Fantastic lecture on the development of atherosclerosis! Just one note on the thrombus formation - this type of clot will not be red blood cell/fibrin rich, but will be platelet/vWF dominant. Thank you for taking the time to put this together!
Amazing........... Please do more vdos on surgery and medicine and obg... please please please...... It's like understanding the concept only by seeing the vdo one time literally there are no words to explain. It was brilliant and easiest for understanding 🙏
Well explained! Add about plaque structure- -Superficial "Fibrous cap"( smooth muscle n collagen) -beneath and to the side of cap (shoulder) cellular area of macrophages and t cells -deep to the fibrous cap is a "necrotic core", containing lipid debri from dead cells, foam cells
You do a great job of explaining concepts very simply and in a way that can be retained longer. That too on varied topics covering biochem, immuno, physio, neuro even chemistry.. Wonderful.. Thanks so much
You can not start the process with high levels of LDL cholesterol because there is no correlation between serum LDL Cholesterol and artherosclerosis. Statin manufacturers would prefer that we no know that there is no correlation between serum LDL cholesterol levels and atherosclerosis but that is their problem. There seems to be a role for oxidated cholesterol but that has to come later in the process. Cholesterol is often used to heal damaged cells so that might be a clue why the cholesterol is building up. Atherosclerosis seems to be a disease of wealth and modernity. 5 things are associated with wealth. 1 Too much food, lack of fasts, obesity and diabetes . 2 lack of excursive 3 eating pufa omega 6 seed oils 4 smoking 5 maybe more chronic stress. When smoking goes down the atherosclerosis goes down but does not stop so smoking is not the main answer. Pufas could cause the cholesterol to get oxidised. Insulin resistance starts well before The real cause of the pr type 2 diabetes and causes excess insulin. Excess insulin might be damaging the endothelium layer of the arteries and starting the process. Truth seems to be that science does not know the answer yet about how modest wealth causes heart disease. Maybe we should cut back on wars to fund bio-science.
wow! I knew nothing about this topic before watching, and now I genuinely feel confident in explaining this entire thing to someone else, thanks so much! Just gained a new subscriber. :)
Something I don't understand.. How can hypertension itself lead to atherosclerosis? They say that, hypertension is the main reason for atherosclerosis, but if I have normal cholesterol but high blood pressure means I get atherosclerosis?
What could be great than 2014 helping out 2018? Thanks for such a flawllessly explaination. I have an exam Tomorrow and my teacher is like a guy who don't like to visit school and classes. So I am very happy Now and appreciate it.
The proces of moncytes passing through the endothelium through expression of adhesion molecules, is called monocyte extravasation, or "diapedesis" if anyone is curious.
I just watched the video and I want to thank you with full of appreciation. This was really educative one and I am actually amazed by your drawings... not to mention that you followed the paty of more general to more detailed, which was also quite wonderful. Thank you :))
Our teacher armando u deserve our graduation certificate b\c u r the unknown soldier. ..as usual u make it easy...I hope u like ur new nikname " artcher" (artist teacher )

Well explained!
Add about plaque structure-
-Superficial "Fibrous cap"( smooth muscle n collagen)
-beneath and to the side of cap (shoulder) cellular area of macrophages and t cells
-deep to the fibrous cap is a "necrotic core", containing lipid debri from dead cells, foam cells
for whom already knows the basics, the detailed mechanism is descripted from 9:17
