I came across while researching Bob "Hoolihan" Wells and Ernie "Ghoulardi" Anderson. I watched "Hoolihan & Big Chuck" as a kid in the '70s and Ghoulardi was before my time. The "Cool Ghoul" looks like a fun show for kids back then.
We used to pick up his show from Dayton, 60+miles North of WXIX broadcasting station. It was a bit fuzzy but my sister used to watch the Cool Ghoul. We had a similar character, most likely inspired by Cool Ghoul on WKEF channel 22 in Dayton called Dr. Creep. Not nearly as dynamic as Cool Ghoul but hosted similar late night monster show.
for some reason dick von hoene, in his later years, was host or something along that line, for northern kentucky public tv. i know for a fact he interviewed wrestlers (wrAstlers) within the last ten years. is he still alive? and what about larry smith and his puppets?
Cool Ghoul, Bob Shreve, Paul Dixon, Ruth Lyons, Larry Smith and his puppets... I'm so glad I grew up in the 1960s and 70s in Cincinnati!
we need a statue of the cool ghoul
I'm a Cincinnati kid, I grew up on the Cool Ghoul. Thankful I did.
Are you related to Coach Estes from Deer Park High School? I loved that guy.
I never will forget the cool ghoul. As long as I live he will always be in my heart
Me and my friends had sleep overs and watched every Saturday night. Great memories.
Every Saturday night I would pop some popcorn and get comfortable in front of my old black and white to watch the Cool Ghoul!
Thank you for posting this. It brings back fond memories from my childhood
Loved the show, grew up on it. Hatty Batty and the cool ghuol 😂😁😂
Those were the days... 😀
Thank you so much for posting this!!!

...and narrated by our old friend Jim Scott, no less!
Larry Smith was alive last time I looked. Dick passed away several years back.
Larry Smith died in 2018 :'( RIP

Remember Dr. Creep-drove around in an old hearse.
Awesome!
The song is Slippin and Sliding. The original I believe is from Little Richard:
What was the name of the Cool Ghoul's theme song? Heard here at 41 seconds. I've been trying to find that song for years.
Here you go.... very appropriate title...

Is there any way to find more clips of Cool Ghoul? Maybe even other skits he did?
@fatlover007
Me too! Unfortunately it was not on the LP either. Sounds a bit like Boot Randolph...
