Great video, I feel like so much of it is the overall tone and vibe of the photographer. If you’re tense and stressed your couple will see that and make them feel the same way
This video is making me feel a lot better about me still not owning a flash yet so at least I know it can be done without a flash. Thanks for this video! Now I have some poses in my head!
Awesome! Two of my favorite photographers in one video and also the two photographers who made me fall in love with the 35mm focal length to the point where I'm currently saving up for my first 35mm prime. amazing shots (and videos) as always!
Hi, love your content! I would love to see how you actually shoot with someone who has never been in a real photoshoot. I mean, those two in this vudeo vlearly have the confidence and experience infront of a camera.
Man I just laughed at the "spray and pray" caption hahaha. It will definitely get you something! I've just never heard it called that before. But I also really like the first tip so far, that's a great tip to keep distance at first.
Hey Mitch, so i just got the RF28-70, which I defs shouldn't have as a rookie, but I was wondering if you know of any mint Brisbane places to shoot portraits?
Hey man, I love your work, I notice that you also shoot with a Fuji, I have a question or two. 1) With modern technology how easy it is to use a crop sensor camera for Professional work (fashion etc) 2,) Is it more of a challenge because of the crop factor vs a full-frame.
Hai Mitch, i have a question? How do u keep the couple in focus on every shot? Even when one of the person is in the front and the other in the back? Thanks 🙏🏼
@@monkunsharip8807 it doesn’t and it can’t focus on two things at the same time. You will have to be careful in your position (make sure your subjects faces align/are in the same layer). Also ne aware of your Aperture, lense used and distance from your subject. For example if you would be using a 85mm with 1.4f from a close distance, you probably won’t have a chance of getting both in focus. You probably won’t even have one face in focus except for the small array you are focusing at. So step back a meter or more or choose a lense which is wider
I noticed her using the screen instead of the viewfinder. I’m new and wondering if that’s what I should be using instead of trying to look cool using the view finder 😂
With mirrorless cameras it doesn’t matter - the screen and vf are essentially the same thing - some people prefer the vf, others the screen so up to you!
Use what you want. There’s no real benefit/con with mirrorless cameras. I mostly use the viewfinder as it works better for me outdoors when it’s bright. But switch to the screen when holding it up or on street level
Those two are looking like a perfect couple. Beautiful. They would look beautiful even in a potato bag.... If you photographing weddings. 25 to 35 a year you came a cross many couples that are not so easy to pose. This totorial only works with couples like models.
Thank you for having me, loved your tips!! Also your photos were gorgeous 😍
Likewise Julia - I loved seeing your poses and the edits are a vibe 👏👌
Julia, can you share your editing process for these photos? I love to emulate that kind of editing

Julia's "Hey everyone" always makes me happy🥺🥺
Watching y’all together is so amazing because you both have your own unique style
Thanks Mauria! Legend!
I wish they could have picked people who were not models so I could see more of natural poses and smiles. Great video by the way!
Yeah these two are a cheat code
That will never happen.
Love this. I always feel embarrassed looking at my phone for inspiration during a shoot. It’s nice to know well established photographers do it too!
Whenever I shoot couple poses.. this is my FAVE Video!!
Mitch and Julia are just a dynamic duo when it comes to this photography 💎💎
Love the collab. Julia is an amazing photographer and i lobe watching her videos. I like yours too.

these are great!
i was just now talk with a couple about their photoshoot hahaha
Hey Mitch, so i just got the RF28-70, which I defs shouldn't have as a rookie, but I was wondering if you know of any mint Brisbane places to shoot portraits?
UQ, KP on the rocks by the river, literally anywhere in West End. Also check out Abbott St in New Farm!
What are your autofocus settings on the EOS R for moving/walking poses? & Do you shoot wide open still for those?

To me the crop sensor in the fuji is just as capable as many if not most full frame sensors when it comes to professional use.
Mitch Lally thanks man, your pics with the xt4 are brilliant
new subscriber here , your content is so great
awesome tips super useful! i noticed the ISO was a little high on some of the photos lel
Let me know what you guys thought of the tips!! Thanks for watching guys :D
awesome work. can we have some raw files from this photoshoot please?
@@mostafaalzein7958 Yes let me work on that for you! Will reply here again once I'm done!
Can you do tips on shooting with moving subject? For some reason every time i shoot with my subject walking I can’t seem to get them in focus. 😩
Sure can! That’s a great idea
Mitch which focal length were you using?
lovely what do you use to colour grade your videos please
Hai Mitch, i have a question? How do u keep the couple in focus on every shot? Even when one of the person is in the front and the other in the back? Thanks 🙏🏼
Mohd Alyahsah Shariff I use the face tracking autofocus in servo mode.
@@MitchLally didn't know dat face tracking can detect two people. Got more to learn, appreciate for the tips Mitch.
