Duh... they are pets. You aren't gonna treat your dogs bad either unless you are really horrible someone who deserves to live alone on a small island. I have beetles too
For you dumb? Critters are bought in bulk at pet stores to feed reptiles. Beetles are like $30 apiece, I don't think you want to spend $30 on a one time meal for your pet.....
I found one of these in a Kmart parking lot about 12 years ago and brought her home with me. I decided to make her a little home and kept her inside. I fed her molasses and applesauce mixed together. She lived with us for almost a year. I was actually really heartbroken when she died. She was a lot of fun! She would sit on my shoulder for hours and then start making a hissing sound when she wanted down. Rest in peace, Hobjobble!
@@aperson5411 I am a huge fan of insects. Love to study and photograph them. Conversely, I am not a "standard" pet person. Cats and dogs creep me out (in the sense that I worry about catching something if they touch me)
When I was a kid, I used to see a swarm of rhino beetles at night on my cousin's place, a village where it's near a forest and used to collect them as a pet. I swear it hurts so much when I try to let them crawl on my hand and always have trouble picking them up as their claws get hooked my skin but well, they're adorable :)
Never see so much care with beetles before. Most the videos, no one "pet" them like "hey you precious cute thingy" or feed them...handfeeding is another level xD. They just put the substrate and god to go...apreciate your "love" for them (altought I'm not the "dog momma" weirdo type), it's very touching. These are cool guys...I just can't leave to find the larvae and the pupae really grows, and scary when they wildly fly...
these guys are so adorable!! i love them they are super awesome. I once had to save a Rhino beetle who was in my swimming pool drowning in Italy. i transported the beetle to my next vacation home in Italy in a Box whitch is for matches. and it was still alive!
Actually if you care and give them a great place to live, they can live up longer and they are really fun to care, also it is interest to collect and make a beetles sample collection :) I got a stag beetle in my home too
it is really nice to see video like this one where ppl with fear of insects like me can have a chance to learn more about these intriguing creatures. hopefully one day i will have the courage to take care of one
Bruh I like caught 50 of those in a nearby forest in Japan. Then they escaped my box by lifting the top off the cage... but I was still left with 20 :)
I am interested in buying some of these after watching an interesting documentary. They can lift several hundred times their own weight. Will do further research before any purchase those.
***** Yeah I agree, I hate the ones that evolve and have human items - makes no sense. When I play I always have some bug type, Scyther being my favourite :)
I am here today cause I saved a beetle today from little kids and brought it too my home and later knew it was a rhino beetle and also was fascinated by its strength cause it lifted the box's lid in which I kept it.
1:41 Without watching anymore of the video, i'mma just go out on a limb and guess Allomyrina dichotoma (Rhino bettle) like it says in the title. Did I guess it correctly?
I have the deceased exoskeleton of a beetle that was the same size as that female. Found it here in Texas in the US. Not sure of the species, but it looked nearly identical. I don't know if they are normally native to here, or if this one just grew huge in some freaky way. Basically a giant version of the normal June Bugs which inhabit the areas around here. Very amazing to look at and have. I love collecting the exoskeletons of insects and arachnids that I find outside. I have a couple scorpions, lots of beetles, one or two huge moths, a mantis, a couple butterflies, lots of hornets in my freezer, and just got a large spider. I hope to get a tarantula exoskeleton around here, there's lots in the country areas!
GerryTGM // The Golden Minecart erm but in the vid it is based of a heracross in fact you can find these beetles in japan and pkmn is created in japan....dingus

I don't understand why many people disrespect beetles and the desire of others to keep them; they are just as incredible constituents of nature and an important aspect of the ecosystem as all other animals are. Just because you don't share the same fascination or level of knowledge about them does not mean they deserve to be berated or crushed. It is a shame that beauty cannot take on a permanent objective form within each and every one of us.
recently ive become really interested in keeping insects especially tarantulas but i have a fear of arachnids, watching these videos is helping me get over my fear even the beetle ones they look so cute :'3
you can find those in the dominican republic at night really common when i was a kid i found 1 i painted the shell in the back white and let it go and like a year later i found the shell in my backyard it was white idk if it died or just got a new shell
