100% agree, dentist scrapey thing is terrible. another thing I hate is when I'm shopping and I think a shirt or pillow is going to be super soft and then it's SCRITCHY. I have to find a super soft pillow/shirt and bury my hands into it for like two minutes to cleanse myself of the awful texture.

Omg I’ve never heard of anyone else doing that!!! As much trouble as I have with sensory stuff, I love touching things when I go shopping. So it is very common for me to touch a shirt or pillow that feels gross and I literally have to rub something else that feels ok to “clean” the feeling off my hand. (9 times out of 10 my own outfit) I always hear of other people having sensory problems, but I’ve never heard anyone mention the need to get the gross feeling off!

The glass thing is from micro scratches on the surface, and is refered to as etched glass. The scratches come from the glass powder in dishwasher detergent that's used as a scrubbing agent scrubbing a little too much

You can delay that problem a lot by:
      1) using a less aggressive wash cycle when there are glasses in the load.
      2) Using a rinse aid
      3) Periodically cleaning your dishwasher, either with a specific product, or just going in there with vinegar and clean cloths. Make sure to clear out the trash grinder in the bottom.
      or
      Hand-washing your glasses.

My older sister had a horrible aversion to tags, like every time she would feel them on accident on bedding or a piece of clothing she would physically recoil. We ended up cutting off the tags of like everything in the house & it makes doing laundry pretty difficult at times. She passed almost 3 years ago and I think of her every time I can't find the tag on something, sometimes its the little things that make me miss her the most. I love you Grace, Iife isn't right without you.

About the socks thing, this is actually because your feet are a big factor in reducing body temperature before sleep. They act like a heat-exchanger, helping your body reach the temperature it needs to enter sleep.

@@-localbard- i once read a study that was like, "this is why your kids stick their little hands and feet out of bed when you try to tuck them in" and its bc you vent (?) heat from ur hands and feet (that's also why they get sweaty often cold feet, sweaty hands et etc)

    • @MonkeyJedi99

To get to sleep, I HAVE to have at least some bit of sheet on top of me. Even if it is just the corner across my waist.
I have long had pretty aggressive (and prescription treated) hypothyroidism. This means, among other things, my internal thermostat is kind of broken.
When it's hot, I stick my feet off the side of the bed so nothing touches them and gets them hot.
When it's cool, I sleep like the bed was designed, under a sheet and maybe a thin blanket.
When it's cold, I HAVE to have socks on to be able to sleep of my feet are so cold they keep me awake. Luckily (?) I've amassed a hoard of hospital socks that are JUST enough to help keep the feet warm without making them super sweaty.
