ABOUT:🔻
Heilung is an experimental folk music band made up of members from Denmark, Norway, and Germany.[3] Their music is based on texts and runic inscriptions from Germanic peoples of the Iron Age, and Viking Age. Heilung describe their music as "amplified history from early medieval northern Europe". Their music is usually about Germanic deities, The Jǫtnar, and valkyries. "Heilung" is a German noun meaning "healing" in English.[4][5]
TThe lyrics for this piece are mainly taken from bracteates: golden, circular coins or amulets found in Northern Europe that date from the 4th to 7th centuries CE. They are often fitted with a decorated rim and loop, which indicates that they were meant to be worn and perhaps provide protection, fulfil wishes or for divination.
The bracteates feature a very significant iconography influenced by Roman coinage. They were predominantly made from Roman gold, which was given to the North Germanic peoples as peace money.
In Anoana, the listener has the chance to delve into a collection of likely encoded spells from the Migration Period and get a touch of magic from the Dark Ages.
The intention of the piece is to playfully reconnect to an incantational language of a period where the North was richer in gold than any other region. Our forefathers presumably enjoyed a time of great prosperity and it may make us rethink how dark these ages really were.
Drif has been mastered significantly lower in volume than most modern releases to achieve a greater dynamic range, deeper lowend, transparent transients and a wider stereo image. If you want it louder, turn up the volume on a proper sound carrier.

The baby has Anoana as her second given name. Maria said that we will hear from Anoana, in another song 12:43 about her saga. A screen cap of the final scene shows that the muskox was a CGI artifact. Some dcolars said that the likely animal was to be an extinct aurochs, a wild bull of huge proportions. The video drpicts the peaceful learnings of Anoana the Landawarijer, with her gaining oh the fierce spitit of the muskox The keening vocalization on the shore is scandanavian kiunung, or herd calling. Anosna, as land warrior calls all sea, sky and land animals. The torchlight dancing is to summon back the bright sun, as opposed to the black, or absent sun. Anoana was born in a black son hour.

IMHO, I consider both the music video and "live" videos the same song, but two different entities with separate vibes. But I know what you are saying. The energy put out by the Heilung collective on stage, is for the lack of words....magical! Also something about one of the female members, Mira Ceti, and they way she moves is almost mesmerizing. MASSIVE kudos to the sound team and filming crew as well!

No Anoana isn't played by Maria Franz. I hope you saw the duality of the video; the story of Anoana as you see it cinematically, and the tribe's re-enactment of her life which starts on the beach and continues under the solar eclipse in a ritual.

No ritual is better, as another.
You know what i always like to say about them? They hit your soul! Ask ppl who attended them live or watched the ppl arround them while they are live. I know ppl laugh about it but ppl cry, are in some sort of trance while they do theyr rituals and even dance in theyr own way.
As someone who had the pleasure beeing raised on the countryside in north germany with the pleasure beeing near nature all the time they actually calm my mind with theyr music. It somehow centers me when i feel my core is "out of balance" if you get what im trying to say.
They need to be protected all the way i want to listen to them forever! 😅
