The whole Cactus Album is fire.
Yes it is! I had this on cassette when I was 12 and listened to it over and over. I have the whole album memorized
Both albums are, really.
#Facts 🥰🐰
I still have my cassette tape somewhere in my attic
3rd Bass never made a wack song.
These dudes we're killin it, back in a days, I was wit it, no doubt....
I'm old I remember when 3rd bass came out
This was my jam when I was in high school at the time. I’m really glad that music from my era translates as well as it does to Gen Z and potentially future generations. Thanks for giving this song a listen!
i remember trying to decipher these lyrics, by writing in a notebook, and it amazes me that i still find new meaning in their lyrics. pete is on A&E hip hop treasures, i recommend you check that show. serch is still around, but got caught numerous times playing himself, by telling fibs. i still got love for him though. 3rd Bass is hip hop's biggest what if--their production techniques and lyrics upped the ante for mc's til this day. peace
"I don't think the world can course correct." What a great line! Loved these guys since they came. Saw them live a few times. It sucks to hear that they had such a falling out.
Hank Shocklee production... word...
5:59 is a very young MF DOOM 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
No gas face for KMD
You know what we need to bring back from the late 80s? The dancing 🤣
Have you done Gas Face by 3rd bass yet? Another classic from them. Also, check out Young Black Teenagers - Tap the bottle
Yea he did
This whole album is great! You should check out Wordz of Wizdom from this album. It’s fire! 🔥
This was hip hop!! The culture was important more than the money. This (cactus) album is one of the most subversive albums in hip hop history.
Сколько же жизни в этих парнях. Почему сейчас все словно умирают и не могут нормально произнести слова. Только бормочут себе под нос.
MC Serch went solo and his album is great. The big single was Back to the Grill, featuring a very young Nas. You have to watch the video next.
MF Doom is here when he was still with KMD as Zev Love X.
Product of the Environment! Vudeo Marly Marl remix
3rd Bass song is Words of Wisdom
Lot of samples and looping. Back then
Dope Bass was dope.
At 7:24 in this video, it looks like a cover of a Beastie Boys 12 inch record on the guy's head.
They originally wrote this tune intended for Eric B & Rakim, but Rakim reportedly had issues with it, rejected it. So these guys finally settled on doing it themselves, which obviously worked out for the better.
nah, Serch just makes shit up
Love you!!!! You are discovering the good Hip Hop.
3rd bass was legit. Underrated hip hop group.
These young man were ahead of their time in the way they dressed.
You did hip hop proud
They tried having beef with the Beastie Boys and diss them on “Sons of 3rd Bass”. Beastie Boys came back with MCA dissing them on “Professor Booty”. They are also famous for dissing MC Hammer on “Gas Face” No diss track from Hammer instead he just threatened to KILL them. Lol.
They sampled the Beastie Boys on this track tho
3rd Bass looked up to the Beastie Boys then they had a fall out after a meeting at Mike D’s place when for no reason Mike D starting throwing random stuff at MC Serch when he was leaving and more stuff from out the window as he left.
snow~ informer
Serch could dance his ass off!!
Tbe Cactus Album is a masterpiece.
Lmao...LOVING the fact that your finding solid, white rappers from the 80's before M&M
House of Pain- On Point
👍👍👍👍👍👍
3rd bass was the shit!!
Bruh almost nobody knows about Bass. Thank You. So much Genius
Real hip hop heads know a lot about 3rd Bass 👍peace
Young Black Teenagers..."I had Kelly Bundy"
Speaking of the past, back then, we partied.....I mean partied, you had to be able to dance back then, or you got clowned. If you fought in the party, the party threw yo ass out, we were not trying to get the cops involved at all. We came up with variety when it came to rap, not that today's music is bad, but it doesn't have the originality, it was competitive, you got caught doing what another MC did, you had to see each other, biting (what copying somebody else's style and gimmick was called then) was a giant no-no. Those days were fun because not everything was everybody's business, people didn't post everything, and if you fought, unless it was extreme circumstances, nobody got killed.
Cactus alblum is 🔥 today still.
Check out Informer by Snow
THEY DISSED MC HAMMER BUT THEY ALL DOING THE RUNNING MAN WHICH HAMMER INVENTED TOWN BIZNESS (OAKLAND)
i’m gonna keep saying someone do the video for prodct of the environment under all your videos
look there it is in the top corner at the end of this video- again
Young Black Teenagers-Tap The Bottle
Gotta turn up your video bud, it's far too quiet! Glad you found 3rd Bass tho.
3rd Bass (Pop goes the Weasel)
It's amazing how my generation failed the younger generation with passing our music over to them like our parents did. Always amazed me when this generation finds out there were white rappers & hip hop/metal did music together. Not sure if they know 2 live crew & 1 of their members(fresh kid ice) is part Chinese. Wonder if they know snow. Or black rock/punk/ska bands like living colour, bad brains or fishbone
Unfortunately, creative differences got in the way of these guys going forward
if you got a thing for white rappers then check out The White Boys-Running this Show, and Milkbone-Where the Party At
