Die Überschrift „simple“ passt bei dem vielen verschiedenen Spezialwerkzeug nicht. Es sieht einfach aus, ist aber ziemlich umfangreich.
The Idea is simple and you could make it as simple as you want. Cut a a circle out of wood with a small hand saw (as shown in the video) and then cut a v shape notch at the top. All you need is a drill , a little saw and a screw driver. It can be done with basic tools, it just takes a little longer and the project might not look as refined but fully functional.

Cheap but very careful work! Good job.
Thanks and thanks for watching.
Impressed by every aspect from design and production techniques to final product. Opened my eyes. Thank you.
Thanks for watching.
With the speed that you work you can come and work for me .👌
Cool idea, thanks for sharing
thats a great bird house. Using a clay pot will help it keep cool in summer. Nice job, nice to see one without a perch as predators use them. Brill idea
Thanks.
Really cool idea!
Very ingenious looks great👍
Thanks and thank you for watching.
I love it, think its great. Make sure cats cant sit on it and get chicks on their way out.
Thanks, yes I'll be watching the cats.

Very good!
Love it!!!!!
Danke für die 🐦🏡
Nice 👍❤✔
Cool idea. Looks like fun. I'm going to try it. I know it's cheaper to simply buy a bird house but making something is the fun and crafty part. Plus it's good for nature. 🙂 I guess the other douche that commented can't relate.
Yes, there is always one.
Love it!
Тоже вешаю для птиц глиняные горшки...
Great ideas! 👍🦚🔥
Great idea nd super work
Thanks.
Great idea. I'll make one today. It's just in time for nesting season.
Thanks, yes it's the season and I'm hoping they use it.
i must be dumb bc this doesnt look so simple to me but great video and cool idea
to make that sander is cool and i dont have a drill bit for flower pots would probably break lol
i think a lot of people forget that you need to be able to clean bird houses out at the end of ever year. the plant pot is smart bc it breathes
I used a normal masonry bit but it must be fairly sharp and carefully drilled.
You could just cut a round piece of wood to fit without tapering the edge, it still works.

Cracking idea, but I think the occupants, i.e. eggs and/or nestlings would overheat in hot weather. However, it would work fine if hidden amongst foliage and that’s what I’m going to do. The birds always search for the best sites and would find one such as this.
Yes, you must make sure it doesn't over heat. I have placed it in a place where it's mostly in the shade, it gets a little sun early in the morning.
Ma sha Allah...
Wet your pot to drill. And also can wet pot if its clay and drill bottom hole out larger and reverse pot for house opening and make oppositely birdhous.cover with clay draining tray
You can do that but I wanted it to be simple and also show both open and closed type bird house.
Why should the clay be wet before drilling? To keep it cool?
@@mjh5437 I think it's supposed to be easier to drill, I haven't tried it.
I'm just letting you know, I am going to "steal" your idea
На заборе кошкам понравится 🐱👍
I have been watching the cats and because there are wooden trellis on the fence they cannot walk on the fence. The only way is if they manage to jump straight on the fence post and if they do that I'm sure some spikes on the post will solve that problem.
I remember it's PacMAN :D
😀
Additional holes needed for ventilation and a perch going through the hole, other wise birds are trapped inside and also die from suffocation.
The plant pot stays cool as it doesn't get much sunlight also a perch is not a good idea because big birds can use it to grab the chicks.
THE RSPB do not encourage the use of a perch as predators such as Jays, magpies can use it to stand on and reach in. Small birds will find it ok without a perch.
Known for cooking baby birds and parents when the sun shines on the pot.
I have positioned it in such a way that it is shaded most of the time. The sun shines on it only for a short while.
And that is simple ??? Wouldn't like to see the difficult version !!!
You can make it as simple as you want, but if you finding it difficult then you can simply screw the pot directly to the fence, get a round piece of plywood or even a plastic lid and glue it on with silicone or epoxy then cut a notch at the top and it's ready.
What a simple??
should have tilted the band saw table as you cut the curve then you wouldnt have needed to sand so much and drill the hole from both sides
I know how to do angle cut on the band saw but not many people have a band saw. I used the band saw for quickness but for people who use a coping saw (as shown in the video) they need to see how to get the angled edges. I didn't drill from both sides because I was drilling at an angle and I used a sacrificial piece under it which minimises any tear out.
Very good, was it used? and by what birds?
Throughout the year it was used by bluetits sleeping in it every night. Now that the nesting season has started there's been some interest by bluetits but no nesting yet.
👍
Is nice , the 🕳 is not to small ?
It's designed for small birds like bluetits so the larger birds can't use it.
Haha Pac-Man
La idea es buena pero la entrada del nido solo cabe un colibrí, en demasiado pequeño el agujero
The hole is the right size for blue tits here in UK.
👍👏👏👏
What bird will make this a home ???
Here in UK usually bluetit or coaltit.
@ 8:12 it's Packman 😂
Being made of clay its going to get hot in there if the sun gets on it, it will kill the chicks.
It gets sun only for a short time in a day so it never gets too hot.
Pacman
Yes 😀
The hole is so little what bird can go inside?
It's designed for blue tit and coal tit which are common here in the UK.
did you ever get birds nesting in it
Not yet.
The hole is very very small...

A death trap for baby birds because it is too smith and they can not come out.
If you think the hole is too small and the baby birds can't come out then how on earth did the mother bird, which is larger, managed to get in and lay the eggs in the first place.
It depends on what bird you want to attract, here in the UK we get a lot of blue tit and coal tit in our garden and for them the recommended hole size is 25mm. It stops larger birds from using it.
@@massoudmakes not snall, but too clean and slick material inside nest walls.
The hole is too small...28mm at least

Waste of time and materials.
Cost of materials £1.00. I make things because I enjoy it so it's never waste of time and I always learn something new in the process. I'm sure there are some people who learned a thing or two from watching this video.
