He loved this tree as his home / safeplace - he's always been up there when he wanted to be alone. Passing right next to it makes me think he's been up there the last moments of his great life and went down to sleep.
So sorry. Felix was a totally beautiful and original fox I live in Australia and have been very occupied with my rescued birds. I missed Save a Fox and tuned in today. I do not know the recent happenings and think something has happened that affected Finnegan and Floofela. Very happy I saw those two in another post.
The tree was just an old, worn-out, tree, until Felix arrived. He gave the tree, life, and showed it that it could be needed. Now it will forever be, Felix's Tree.

Felix was always quietly one of my favourites at SAF. As much as I love the really fluffy and affectionate foxes like Vixie, Finny, Ruby, and more, I really appreciated Felix just chilling in his tree, living his best life. Take solace in knowing that the reason he could live that best life is because of you and your colleagues, and all the things you do for these animals. By all accounts it looks like he had a pretty great life once he arrived at your sanctuary, and I'm sure there's no place he'd rather have been when he passed on than by his tree.

hope you dont mind me sharing a i think little know fact about him even though he was afraid of the other foxes, (this is why he was in the tree) he did have a buddy. merri, (lead animal caretaker there( said felix would sometimes come down from the tree and cuddle with valentine and she said they would sometimes share a enclusure

I've actually got tears in my eyes, I really loved Felix. His chill way of noping out and just going to his tree house was like he was living every introverts dream. Felix was indeed one of a kind. His climbing trees was a remarkable trait, like a Felix's signature. A sudden death is so devastating though, it makes you remember the fragility of life.

I lost my best fox buddy Pip last September, and still tear up whenever I sit on my back porch in the morning and evening and she's not sitting by the stairs, staring intensely into my eyes (saw her twice a day for nearly 5 years). Felix was an amazing, one of a kind fox, and we will all miss seeing you bravely climb to send him treats and toys. He may be too high now to reach, but will always be perched warmly atop our hearts. 💜
I'm sorry for your loss. A video of Felix in his tree was the first video I ever watched from SaveAFox. Who knew that a fox would love to climb trees and enjoyed being in it. Part of him is still in that tree, watching over you and the others that have done so much to save the other foxes there.

One of the first videos I watched of your place was one featuring Felix. I couldn't believe how crazy good he was at climbing his tree. 🌳I fell in love immediately and have watched ever since. He was a wonderful ambassador for your life's work. I can't imagine how difficult it will be without him.

Do you know how "everyone roots for the underdog"? I always felt that way about Felix. I always felt that he was the underdog or outcast one, like he just didn't fit in. And I always rooted for him, while I appreciated all the foxes, I always felt special for Felix. That's so unfortunate. Felix is one of my favorites. He reminds me of when I was a kid. I loved to Try to climb trees anyway. I was never very good at it, but occasionally I would find one short enough that I could make it up and nest near the base of some of the branches. I always wanted a tree house, but have no yard for one, so I made myself an indoor pretend "tree fort". Stayed in that little plastic tent even when I didn't fit anymore and I would smuggle snacks into it. When I was really young I would stuff the end of towels as "tails" into my pants to pretend I was a fox while there. I'm turning 39 in 3 days and every birthday I still wear a stuffed dragon tail just for nostalgia of that time. I'll be thinking of you this year, little Felix!

Any loss of someone we love is tough but I think the loss of a animal or pet that we take in and they help make us whole with their unconditional love is the toughest loss of all. They live on in our hearts and at the Rainbow Bridge full of life and love waiting for the day you are reunited with them.

One of the first videos I watched of your place was one featuring Felix. I couldn't believe how crazy good he was at climbing his tree. 🌳I fell in love immediately and have watched ever since. He was a wonderful ambassador for your life's work. I can't imagine how difficult it will be without him.

Felix lived a life without the fears that foxes in the wild have. Although it's a heart breaking loss, the love and freedom SAF gave him was immeasurable ❤ RIP sweet Felix.
Never, ever apologize for sharing such news with us! We always appreciate the updates you give us on the foxes, even the sad ones! You and the other SaveAFox volunteers gave Felix a loving home and took great care of him, and I'm sure he's grateful for that. We love him as much as you do, and I'm sure he's happy wherever he is.
Do you know how "everyone roots for the underdog"? I always felt that way about Felix. I always felt that he was the underdog or outcast one, like he just didn't fit in. And I always rooted for him, while I appreciated all the foxes, I always felt special for Felix. My best wishes to all the workers who have to deal with his loss on a personal basis, and of course all the other fans who have watched him for years. He was well cared for, and even given his own little place in this world - his tree! ❤🌳🦊

So sad to hear of Felix’s passing. To me it will always be Felix’s tree, but I was happy to see he shared it. I remember one morning looking up thinking I’d see Felix in his tree, but it was Jagger, escaping Luka who was circling below. I’d like to think on that day and forevermore, Felix’s still there- just on a higher limb, so high you can’t see him.
It always hurts when loved one passed away.
Sometimes it never stops hurting. I hope that doesn’t happen.

Oh, this is so sad. Mikayla and the other foxes will miss him. I always thought of him being "on guard duty" up there. And I love the little "elevator" you all made to give him treats. He was a wonderful fox and will be missed by the fans, friends, and loved ones left behind. Felix, pretty boy, I'll meet you in heaven. Maybe you will let me climb trees with you. He is so fearless in that tree. Thank you for sharing him with us. You're right; loss is hard. It is so very hard. The more you love, the more you grieve. But you can't deny the love as it is what makes life worth living.
You gave him a life worth living, a life of happiness that he deserved, and he died while he had everything he needed and your love. He went to sleep for the last time with expectations of seeing you the next day and receive your care. It's a sad day for SaveAFox, but also, be happy that he died happily, worry-free and a life fulfilled.
May his soul be part of that tree.

That's so unfortunate. Felix is one of my favorites. He reminds me of when I was a kid. I loved to Try to climb trees anyway. I was never very good at it, but occasionally I would find one short enough that I could make it up and nest near the base of some of the branches. I always wanted a tree house, but have no yard for one, so I made myself an indoor pretend "tree fort". Stayed in that little plastic tent even when I didn't fit anymore and I would smuggle snacks into it. When I was really young I would stuff the end of towels as "tails" into my pants to pretend I was a fox while there. I'm turning 39 in 3 days and every birthday I still wear a stuffed dragon tail just for nostalgia of that time. I'll be thinking of you this year, little Felix!

Any loss of someone we love is tough but I think the loss of a animal or pet that we take in and they help make us whole with their unconditional love is the toughest loss of all. They live on in our hearts and at the Rainbow Bridge full of life and love waiting for the day you are reunited with them.
