I have a mk6 Jetta 2.5 with the AWE Track Exhaust and a Short Ram Intake. The combo of those two make the 2.5 sound eargasmic. Please do the awe track exhaust. You will thank me later😁
Go video. FYI a torque wrench is a precision instrument. Not a traditional ratchet. Should only be used for mesuring only. Or it could lose its calibration.
Awesome tutorial dude seriously, you got every angle super clear, torque specs, and even showed where to put the jack stand on the sub frame gawddam. I have a 2.5 Jetta MK6 as well that I've modded quite a bit, have been curios about these inserts for a while after hearing good things about them. How are they performing?
I love them. The NVH has soften up, but the performance is still there. If you had wheel hop before, this eliminates it completely, the only thing is that you’ll have to hear or see the RPMs shoot up to know you’re spinning tires.
This is a similar thing I did to my 2012 Tiguan. That means same 034 and same application of foot pressure not ftlb torque pressure but actually my foot.
I have a 13 MK6 Jetta se with the 2.5 been doing mostly cosmetic due to money. Saw something about a turbo kit for it on a obscure website. Don’t know much about installing one on this car. Would love to see you attempt it. If you’re interested I can link the kit for you
I have a 2010 Golf Mk6 2.5L Manual Trans. I'm leaning towards doing this mod. Can you give me an update? Did you notice any extra Noise, Vibration, or Hashness (NVH)? Thanks in advance!
Sure. So I love this mod. Whenever I’m doing a launch, it used to kick whenever I lost traction, Wheel hop. When I did this, it smooth it out by a lot. Now when I lose traction, I just feel the wheels spin, no wheel hop. NVH were noticeable at 2-3 mph, or at starting, but honestly I got used to it, I don’t even notice it any more. It also makes shifting A LOT better.
So the biggest things it helped with is with Wheel hop. If the tires start spinning, it doesn’t feel like it’s slamming up and down. It also made it easier to heel toe rev match down shift, almost crisper. It should reduce the amount of engine flex, but not a lot by itself. I need to do engine and trans mounts.
So now that I have 6months or more on it, I would say the metal insert, upper and lower, would probably work better. I don’t notice any NVH, they smoothed out but still keep the wheel hop down. And there’s no NVH at idle. I only used to notice it around 2-5 mph, but now I don’t even notice it at all
Haven’t tried it myself on any automatics, but it should be universal and not specific to transmission type. I would highly recommend getting the upper and lower insert from 034M
Oh no. Just taken on a bigger mod (Coilovers and IRS swap) and it’s been taking a little bit longer to get everything together. Video should be out next week if everything goes well.
Whats An Inline Five awesome. It’s nice to see someone else with a 2.5! I really was considering selling it and getting a GLI or GTI, but I’ve had this car for so long I don’t want to sell it anymore. Only thing that’s still bothering me is it’s a 6speed..

Already planning on it. Working on suspension first.
If you add a stage 1 tune from ie you get pops with the awe exhaust

Ryan Pappas You’re right, as of right now I haven’t bought a tool kit.
My good sir,
You never go in dry. You must always get her lubricate 🤪first!
Just bought a 2.5 sel , looking forward to seeing your progress man
Thanks. Virus is slowing it down a bit. Gonna try and put out a video on how to swap the rear suspension on a mk6
Cool video and hair. I watched this for our 2008 vw r32 dog bone insert
I have a 13 2.5 Jetta, would love to see what you do and what I can do to mine!
Good vid very funny

Hey man. She’s still driving great lol,
I have a mk6 golf that I’m doing something very similar to what your doing with the Jetta
Awesome man! I’m waiting on a few parts before doing coil overs. The Dogbone insert really helps out in shifting.

If you’re looking at the Hans turbo kit, it’s strongly recommended to stay away. I want to try and go NA build before turboing

Does it help shift better and does the engine move less under load ?

Cold you tell me where you found the upper and lower dog mounts
Yeah, they’re from 034 Motorsports. Make sure to buy the top and bottom to run the stock dogbone
🤙🏿🤙🏿 sub'd
should I get this or a polyurethane insert instead. I dont want to have any serious vibrations at idle

@@whatsaninlinefive7009 cool thanks your the only channel on youtube giving the 2.5 attention lol.
Thanks Riley, Check out Matt Joyner and Voyage RC.
Does this apply to a Automatic 2.5 as well?
Haven’t tried it myself on any automatics, but it should be universal and not specific to transmission type. I would highly recommend getting the upper and lower insert from 034M
was wondering that as well
I take it you gave up on this project?
