Matt Mays and his band perform what they claimed was going to be an accoustic set but eneded up being a pretty rocking session. This to promote his lastest album 'Coyote'. This is the song 'Dull Knife'.
Up and comer? Veteran you mean. Matt has been making music for a long time, and great music at that. He is truly a great songwriter from the EAST coast of Canada.
RIP Jay
Love it. Wicked ending... My favorite Matt Mays songs. Such a wicked finale!
One of the best songs I've heard in a long time In fact it ranks number 1 in my opinion.
Definitely his masterpiece, all hails to Matt Mays!!
cette chanson la c^est un vai chef d`oeuvre! thank you!
Been a fan of many Canadian artists, but man, Matt Mays is now in my top 3 of all time without a doubt. A treasure to say the least.
I have seen him do this live.. I still have not washed my eyeballs
😂
at the HATCH bar!!!....I adore you! ...have to dream !
Matt mays is a brilliant musician and showman, and deserves more fame for his remarkable talent! Would love to see CBC do more of this with his other music.
I love how this sounds so much like the rock of the 1960s, like some of Neil Young's stuff. It is a real homage to the great music that we received during the chaotic years of the Vietnam War era.
Dull knife, stuck in the night
Turning with the tide every time I close my eyes
Dull knife, stuck in the night
Burning like a lighter lit held up to my life
Giant star, take up the sky
Beyond the great prowess of Indian ocean
Dead south, sleep on the sand
A million leagues of blue water diamonds cutting through our hands
Until our dying day has come
Find us following the sun
In this vicious life we lead
Give us grace, give us speed
Tigers run, run without rest
In the cold too much...staying inside
Off the coast, I ride with the best
Keeping them killer rides close to the vest
Intense close cigarettes, a 5 string guitar and a lightning stove
Tigers run, run in the night, faster than a gunshot
Shadowing a new fight
Until our dying day has come
Find us following the sun
In this vicious life we live
Give us grace, give us speed x 2
[Guitar solo]
Until our dying day has come
Find us following the sun
In this vicious life we live
Give us grace, give us speed
Give us grace, give us speed
Give us grace, give us speed
Give us grace, give us speed
Give us grace, give us speed.

I was looking for the song Dull Knives by The Warning and I found this one accidentally.
This is good stuff!
Accidental discoveries are the best!
Truly great song. RIP Jay.
Still my fave
Nice to hear this again, saw them last week, and they stretch out the middle of this tune as you hear in the vid. COOL. Go see Matt and his band!
What an epic song. I would love to see Matt Mays and co. live!!!
Good Friend of mine went to work at a new Yamaha Dealership this past spring. At their private grand opening party they had Matt Mays and his friend and guitar player Adam Baldwin play there. It was in bike showroom and not a very big room at that. It was absolutely awesome! I sat with a new YZF250 as my backrest, 10 feet from the makeshift stage. Awesome night. I will be posting video and pics from that night soon on my youtube channel...
This was supposed to be an acoutic set, im
Happy he brought his electric
Seen him play at Alderney Landing, Dartmouth Nova Scotia live outside. and Halifax Commons. live outside.
a Very, Very much underrated artist, guitarist and Nova Scotian Brother.
excellent entry to the song, and mid tone, with a extraordinary ending. like how Jimmy Page describes, how Stairway To Heaven was written and played.
what a killer performance of this tune!
I have the utmost respect for this man
That guitar solo. Wow.
He's the bomb.
Another underrated song. Wicked intro it's awesome.
@Canadian Cobra Commander Hail Cobra!!
I want that to be the last song at my high school dance instead of 'Stairway to Heaven"!
this guy is my hero
Great artist !!!! Big up !!
simply epic matt!
one of my faves
Walking toward the Halifax Ferry one night.
Looking at a legend.
That is by far the sexiest guitar I've ever seen!
Try Buckethead
Great clip more of these cbc
5 years! holy cow time flies!
Pretty bad ass!
Matt is clearly a Neil Young fan, haha. good song.
He's stated that in interviews more than once.
short riff @ 3:48 was used on "What are we gonna do come the month of September?"
TRULEY AWSOME SONG THX MATT

wow
A White Falcon..gorgeous
hey CBC Music? what does 'eneded' mean?
CBC should have more Stiky Soks clips
nice riff................................Doug DBF video Canada
Who is playing bass? Or Where is he?
At 7:14 you can see him in the background, behind the drummer (to the drummer's left).
CMON MATT PLAY CREAT NEW MUSIC
Better than the album version
Hmmm.... right.
is it about the c0rvids19?
Don't get me wrong, Matt Mays is unreal and I like him so much more than Feist. But she is very good at what she does. She has a way about making the most simple concept in music sound terribly complex and beautiful... not an easy thing to do.
he looks like a young David Gilmour
yes he dose
Cross Tom Petty, Neil Young and add some of his own originality.. You get the pride of the Maritimes.. Matty Mays
it's in tune until he goes ham on it for the solo
I love it when he goes ham on it!! Lol
@@robertplante8858 wow don't remember making that comment
