    I'm sure a lot people appreciate you doing this video. Although I'm sure the concept applies for all dual 2 ohm applications I believe our PA bass heads appreciate this video the most. Some may ridicule your language or choice of words, but not your efforts. I'm sure you're a beast now when it comes to car audio installation provided this video is 3 or more years old. Don't forget with success comes a lot of gratitude. So remember to thank the ones who helped along the way and tax the "HATERS".

    Me and a couple buddies did this in a 97 Accord. We used dual 4 Ohm 15's and a Hifonics Zeus ZRX1200.1D... MIght be pushing around 800 Watts RMS at 1 Ohm. It sounds insane in his ported box. He can only turn his deck up about a third of the way before it gets too nuts.

    @BumpinThatBass He didn't say he was wiring them together. He said they would each go to their own amp output, not together. He is probably using two different amplifiers.

    @SGlitches yeah. that's what i was trying to say. if you wire both subs down separately and wire them to 2 amps or 2 channels then yeah its one ohm. but if you wire it to a mono amp it's .5 ohm..

    @fennygolf yeah. thats for a single sub. but TWO dual 2 ohm subs can only be 0.5 ohm or 2 ohms. you can wire both of them down to 1 ohm to get 0.5 ohm.

  • @trujay2
    @trujay2 12 років тому

    yes, but he said his amp has 2 outputs. look at the rockford amps for instance, they have 2 outputs for a single channel amp, wich is basically what he did with his, im assuming he has a power acoustik amp too, which take after the rockford style. so really he did just drop 2 d2 subs to 1 ohm on his AMP. not the subs.

  • @Razon35
    @Razon35 11 років тому

    If you hook up all 4 of these runs into the amp, it will parallel it down again so it will be at .5ohm.

    I got 4 of those so far, but I use the dual 4 ohm sub. Funny thing is they look a lot better upside down the way they are now then installed so a reverse install would be interesting to try out.

    Yes. Anything that requires electric to operate creates a circuit. The power enter's the positive side, circulates through the electronic device and exits through the ground

    Big props to u bro. Haters gonna hate. Who cares. Atleast u trying. One note. Just run both your bridge wires on one side. Then you wont cross wires. But keep it up.

  • @bucu2003
    @bucu2003 12 років тому

    @DaBandiiT No. Wiring in parallel will 1/2 resistance ending up with 1 ohm. If he took both speakers and wired them together and put them into the amp as a mono channel you end up with .5 ohm.
    So depending on the amp and the setup it could be .5 or 1, or 2 ohm depending on how you wired it.

    No problem. 8 ohms would be achieved by running each sub VC in series to make each speaker a 4 ohm load, then wire the two speakers in series to make it 8.

  • @Wetstriker
    @Wetstriker 12 років тому

    @DaBandiiT correct, but he says he's not going to do that in the video. He's going to run the amp in stereo, or to two different amps.

    if you are using a bamf 5500 and you wire them in parellel to your amp then your subs are running 0.5 ohms with (2) dvc 2 ohm subs you can wire them eather to 0.5 ohms in parellel or 2.0 ohms in series just for the heads up

  • @RonnyBones
    @RonnyBones 12 років тому

    If you are using a Class D monoblock amplifier, or really almost any "subwoofer amplifier," for these drivers, then the amplifier is still seeing 1/2ohm anyway. It wouldn't make a difference if you did parallel the cables and then hooked them up, or wired the drivers separately into each channel on the amplifier output. Only way the amplifier is seeing 1ohm on each "channel" is if you are using a "speaker" amplifier, and it is a 2 channel "speaker" amplifier. But not many are 1ohm stereo stable.

  • @KujGaming

    i was talking about 1 amp. yeah it's either 1/2 ohm or 2 ohms. I have my alpine type r's at 2ohms. but 2 amps, yeah you can drop ONE dual 2 ohm sub to 1ohm on ONE amp

    no both are 2 ohms when u run them in parralell they drop as 1 big unit to .5 = 1/2ohm if he woulda ran in series it wouldmove up as a unit to 1 4 ohm load he no wat he want ta do with it he just dont kno the terms

  • @DaBandiiT
    @DaBandiiT 12 років тому

    yeah. there's 2 outputs on the amp. but it still doesn't matter, it still comes out to 2 ohms if both of them go to the amp. And that does not make sense. you cant wire the AMP to 1 ohm, and the subs something else. Plus, it's IMPOSSIBLE to wire TWO dual 2ohm subs down to 1 ohm, it just won't work by the ohms law. If you DMM the amp, it will say 2 ohms.

  • @DaBandiiT

    Here's the big question is he running a one channel amp or 2. IF he has 1 channel with 2 sets of outputs its still being dropped to a half ohm. only a 2 Channel would keep it at 1 ohm. by the way PA Bamf 5500 is 1 channel. which if which if wired way he showed would kill the amp.

  • @Jason_Voorhees.

    incorrect, i have these (1st gen bigger magnets) only in 12's, I use 2 amps to power each at a 1 ohm load. these are dual 2ohm voice coil, when wired to a mono block amp you're at a 1 ohm load per sub if you use two seperate amps. but yes if 1 amp is used you're dropping it down to a 1/2 ohm load not many amps are stable enough to support that long term will likely result in blowing your amp. i ran my memphis 16 st-1000D (500 dollar amp back in 2003 at 1/2 ohm load for a few yrs) was a phenom

    @custombobbs nope wrong it is a mono it does have 2 channels but its plus plus minus minus which equals one channel this guy has no idea what hes talking about he actually does have it wired to .5 ohm which is not good cause that amp is not stable at .5 ohm if he wants to wire it at 1 ohm he needs the 4 ohm dvc subs i had/have pretty much the same setup i know the deal. stringmem is right.
