Been looking for a tutorial everywhere and this is the exact video i needed. You answered my questions stucked in my mind over the past years. Thank you
I learned this stuff back in the 90's. I had 4 15" Rockford Fosgate subs and I ran them Parallel/Series to get a 4 ohm load on the 4 subs. While my amps could run at 1 ohm the subs couldn't take the power as I was running 1400 wat at a 4 ohm load. I wish youtube was around back then cause I would've learned all this so much faster than reading it from books. Great video!

Yo. I've had a system before. But never knew all this. Got a new one. A lot smaller tho. My question is.... What's the difference between how you just wired those. Making it a 1ohm or 4 ohm. What's the difference between dual voice coil and other. I'll tell you what I got maybe you could tell me what you think. I got 2 8" kicker comp subs, they are 4 ohm dual voice coil. What ever that means.... And I also got a Rockford fosgate 500watt mono amp. Not sure but I know I can make em hit. I'm just not sure the best way to wire it up is. What do you think?
Each impedance offers you a specific rate of power. The lower the impedance, the more power you can get. But it's still a little more complicated than saying they'll just work. Your amplifier has to match to the specific wiring impedance you intend to make as well as in power compared to the compared MRS of the sub(s)
So u have to connect the speakers together with in the box ? Or were those the leads to the amp, i have 2 kicker 12 comp r dual 4ohm and i want to go down to 1ohm but confused on do i connect the two subs with inside box?
So if my amp is a monoblock but has two channel inputs would that be the same as bridging down to 1 ohm if I ran each subwoofer to its own positive and negative input ?

Please help me sir. 🙏 I have a car amplifier 4channel i think its 4ohms stable or 2ohms stable. Then i have 2pcs subwoofers 10” dual voice coil 4omhs. What is the best and most safe wiring diagram of two subwoofers? 8ohms load or 2ohms load? I HOPE TO ANSWER thank you
I have a unique situation I can’t figure out. Jeep has a factory 4om 2 connector sub. I have a dual 12” speaker box that only has one input on the box so I assume the speakers are in parallel. So I don’t know how to take the 4 factory wires to input into the 2 wire connector on the speaker box. Any ideas?
At 1:55 you said you were using small wire to demonstrate; what gauge speaker wire should you use for this exact setup? (Assuming both subs are capable of 500 RMS for a total of 1000RMS)
Need a lot more specificity! Kicker has over two dozen versions/models of 15" subs. Which model do you have. DVC or SVC. 4 ohm or 2 ohm. Combined RMS of the woofers?
Question, On the 1 ohm load to the amp, I can't remember how to do this if each sub in separately enclosed, and with out connecting the subs together inside the enclosure since each is sealed?
Parallel Wire outside the Box. Basically just run 2 P and 2 N wires from the Amp. One set(P&N) to each box. Subs are Paralleled inside the box. Same thing as demonstrated. Make sure you use Heavy Gauge wire.
When wiring two DVC 4 ohm speakers to run 1ohm at the amplifier such as your first sample in this video - how do you get two 11 gauge positive speaker leads to fit into one positive speaker terminal and the same on the negative? My Hifonics subs have the push style connections where you insert the wire into the hole and release the pressure on the binding post? not sure if using the proper terminology.
When you were wiring for the 1 ohm load and you twisted the positive and negative wires together, does that mean that I would only connect those wires to one terminal on my sub box even though there is 2 terminals? Thanks
Thanks alot. i already run my two pioneer 12" ts-w3003d4 600 rms (each) to my pioneer amp gm-d9601 mono 1200 rms @ 1 ohms. I want to add pioneer GM-D9604 amp to my setup because its 4 channels so that it runs my front and rear speakers. What do you think?
Ehhh yes and no. It all depends on the gear. The differences would be the ability to get more power/bass with 2 ohms depending on the type of subs and amp used, but 4 ohm will always be more efficient and run cooler
aloha, from hawaii. i need alittle help please.i bought a BELVA ported empty encloser that has 2 terminal junctions not sure wat you call them lol. can you guide me to wire 2 skar SDR -12 D2 nom.power 600w / trans power 1200w ending in 1ohm to amp? im not sure how to wire the subs to the terminals on the back of box?then from terminals to amp.Thankyou for all your past help, thankyou for the time you put into these help videos...YOU AND utube channels are the best.
Please reply your very knowledgeable, I want to buy 2 audiopipe txxbd415" in a ported of course. They say they are 1400 rms so I'm thinking maybe a skar 3500.1d will push both even tho I wanted separate amps but the subs are 4ohm. Don't want any other subs except these. Can I still get separate amps and somehow wire my 4 ohm sub to 1 amp or do I have to have both subs on 1 amp to get 1ohm from 4? Also what size wore would you recommend from speakers to amp? Would a separate amp for each sub sounds better than 1 amp on 2 subs?
QUESTION: An answer please?! Can I get 2 two ohm dvc subs to work with one 1 ohm amp that has two speaker outputs? If so how would I need to wire them? I don't see why not as long as the mono amp has dual outputs which it does considering I've already done this set-up for one 12" dvc 2 ohm sub, (but now want to add a second sub) so if wired correctly I'd think I can with two L7 12" dvc 2 ohm subs (connect at 1 ohm to one mono 1500.1 or 2000.1 Skar amp) THANKS IN ADVANCE!
@@terrychudson I did not get the answer, however I'm pretty sure the answer is "you can't." I solved my problem by just buying 1 good 12" sub (4 ohm DVC) which ended up sounding twice as loud and hit twice as hard as the other two subs.

@@stephenlouden480 bruh subs are subs. they all have pretty close to the same range. theyre called subwoofers for a reason. you just need woofers (“normal” speakers) and tweeters for the full range. not different sized subwoofers.

I ended up selling my friend the 15 ..it was overkill
since we are combining two sub woofer speakers, dose the number of watts required to power the speakers from the amplifier increase since in series each speaker has 4 ohms and in combining it remains 4 ohms or we assume and use watts required by one speaker for the two?
The power at the amplifier won't change, but the output it gives to the speakers is dependent on what the impedance/voice coils/RMS of the subwoofers are when wired to the amplifier and they type of load they will make

would the 4 ohm load need another wire to the amp. or does those two parallel wires go directly to the amp without another wire added?
Is there any difference in sound output?
1 ohm is much more powerful
question, what is the best wiring for DVC subwoofer 12" 400watts 4ohms to 8ohms amplier? thanks
Very very very very thank you sir thanks for information 🙏 we want more videos from this channel sir
Okay I understand the point. The speakers are going to work eaither way, but what is the difference at afterwards between those two set ups ???
Each impedance offers you a specific rate of power. The lower the impedance, the more power you can get. But it's still a little more complicated than saying they'll just work. Your amplifier has to match to the specific wiring impedance you intend to make as well as in power compared to the compared MRS of the sub(s)
I have Rockford Fosgate P 12s I’m looking at this video I think I got it on how to make those into a four ohm load thank you guys
AMAZING VIDEO HAHA GOING TO LEARN HOW TO WIRE MY SUBS DURING QUARANTINE AS THE AUDIO INSTALL SHOPS ARE ALL CLOSED :)
You can do it!
Ok I have 2 10" subwoofers and I'm putting the subs in it's own box...how would I wire them to the amp ?
That depends on what load the amp can accept and how much power you need.
So u have to connect the speakers together with in the box ? Or were those the leads to the amp, i have 2 kicker 12 comp r dual 4ohm and i want to go down to 1ohm but confused on do i connect the two subs with inside box?
Which one is good
What if you have 2 speaker terminals? And how to connect them to the amp?
We made a video on that! Here it is: ua-cam.com/video/f_HJ72sl2hA/v-deo.html
So if my amp is a monoblock but has two channel inputs would that be the same as bridging down to 1 ohm if I ran each subwoofer to its own positive and negative input ?
Man thanks so much for this video now my skar 15s are slamming hard af
I'm new to this .
What are the differences between the set ups? What will hit deeper ? And the advantages of both?
Nice video btw
1 ohm load will always offer you the most potential power of a system. 4 ohm is more efficiency
@@Qualitymobilevideo thank you for the answer . Great video and info
@@Qualitymobilevideo is 4ohm deeper or better sound?
What about for single coil on my speaker?
Still same
Hi I have a Pioneer TS-W261D4 10" 25cm Dual Voice Coil 1200W Subwoofer. And a Pioneer GM-D8601 - Mono Channel Class-D Car Amplifier 1600W just wounded wot my correct speaker connections would be? Thanks mate 👍
Hi I would like to ask if you wire Two 4 dvc Parallel into 1ohm. Does rms changes?
when the bass feels loudest? how many Ohm?
1omh hot
5:21 so with the two wires left for the amp here, can those go into a mono bass amplifier?
Yes exactly.
Please help me sir. 🙏
I have a car amplifier 4channel i think its 4ohms stable or 2ohms stable.
Any ideas?
Exact video I needed thanks🎉🎉🎉
😎
At 1:55 you said you were using small wire to demonstrate; what gauge speaker wire should you use for this exact setup? (Assuming both subs are capable of 500 RMS for a total of 1000RMS)
i got the sa 12 classic 4 ohm. should i wire them to 4 ohm or 1 ohm?
How can i wire two (L7) 4ohms dvc to a final 2 ohms impedance?? Is it possible???
Would like to know how to connect 2 15in kickers comp to a 1000/1 jl audio amp what's the best way pls
Thanks
Yes
Thanks alot.
i already run my two pioneer 12" ts-w3003d4 600 rms (each) to my pioneer amp gm-d9601 mono 1200 rms @ 1 ohms.
I want to add pioneer GM-D9604 amp to my setup because its 4 channels so that it runs my front and rear speakers.
What do you think?
Perfect match!
Can i wire a single 12in sub dual coil in a series bc my amp is 4ohms an if i do it in parallel it will be 2ohm?
Yes, if your amp will support a 2 ohm load.
@@Qualitymobilevideo thank u
does the sound differ from a 2 ohm or 4 ohm load?
MY AMP THAT ILL BE USING IS 3400 BOSS MONOBLOCK AMP
So it's impossible to wire 2 4 ohm DVC subs to a 2 ohm load on the amp?
My question also! have you found any answers on this?
@@terrychudson I did not get the answer, however I'm pretty sure the answer is "you can't."
I solved my problem by just buying 1 good 12" sub (4 ohm DVC) which ended up sounding twice as loud and hit twice as hard as the other two subs.
Great videos.. Thanks
I want to have 1 of every size sub in my truck 15,12,10,8 What'd be the best way to wire them and how many amps would you suggest?
I wouldn't, the subs will be fighting for space and sound bad
@@anthonyrodriguez5124 k makes sense..so how would I get the full frequency range. A 15 + 8 or 10in
@@stephenlouden480 I had 2 12s and 2 10s in a ford explorer a while back, didn't sound bad but have had better luck with sound with 4 of the same size subs, also makes a hell of a difference if you have 4 duel voice coils subs that are 2 ohms made done to 1ohm buy running in parallel
@@stephenlouden480 bruh subs are subs. they all have pretty close to the same range. theyre called subwoofers for a reason. you just need woofers (“normal” speakers) and tweeters for the full range. not different sized subwoofers.
@@seanrk876 makes sense but they were all given to me for free with amps too to promote the brand so whatever. it would've been better to have just one or two of same size but I said f it. lol. it was incredible anyway. especially the 8 custom tuned for more mid range than bass.
The power at the amplifier won't change, but the output it gives to the speakers is dependent on what the impedance/voice coils/RMS of the subwoofers are when wired to the amplifier and they type of load they will make
@@Qualitymobilevideothanks alot
hello good video my why are we only talking about double coil subwoofers? and single coil subwoofers? I have 3 jbl stage 1010 subwoofers in 4 ohms I want to make a connection to make 1 ohms on my 800.1 taramps which is 1 oh thank you for your answer..
I have a pioneer gmd8601 and pair of 12s pioneer TSA 3000D4 how can i conect it to 1oh?the amp has 2 Speaker conexions but it says its one?

Do you have a video tutorial or know how to wire four subwoofers DVC 4ohm to a 1ohm load?
Is 8 gauge overkill on subwoofers or no? Trying to decide between 8 or 12 gauge... Skar VD 10 DVC 2ohm.
You don't need 8 gauge for subs
Can I use two of these 12" dual voice coil sub woofers in my home connected to my infinity kappa one class d amplifier as a home theater, how will it sound inside at home ?
I mean it'll be loud, but car subwoofers are designed for cars. I'd highly recommend using home theater subs
I have 2 15’s 1,200 watts each one what ohms do you recommend for these 15’s, amplifier Hifonics BXX1200.1D Brutus Class D 1200W RMS 1 Ohm Mono Car Subwoofer Amplifier

That lakey beat @1:18 took me by surprise
New to this can I wire a single terminal sub with a dual terminal sub both being 4ohm
Question why would one speaker hit harder than the other one? Bandpass box but follow your video to the T. Idk what gives. I've already blew one sub. Any info please?
I just bought a old school 10" Pioneer Champion series subwoofer 350 watts rms 1200 watts peek! 1200 watts peek is unheard of In todays Pioneer subs!!!
So what RMS rating on a mono D amp should I be looking for if I want to run them at 4OHM load ? The RMS of my subs are 600 watts
So with the parallel wiring to end with 4 ohms, you look for a amp with a 4 omh rms wattage of both the woofers combined? And the speakers count as one channel or input ?
I have this same question
This works for 2ohm subs ?
No but we have a video on that too.
Hi good day to you I have 2 sub 2000w Pioneer and 9701monoblock Pioneer amplifier. Can u please tell me which is more convenient to switch to 1 or 2 or 4 ohms. Please let me know. Appreciate if u would kindly help.
