Bob, we stopped by your store today on our way back home to south Atlanta and Tara was very helpful and welcoming. We purchased some of the black sage honey from CA and bought several hive components. I can’t wait to put them to use. Enjoyed seeing this place that I’ve seen so often in videos. I felt very at home there! Sorry we didn’t get to see you, maybe next time.
Oh how I miss blue ridge honey. Wish I was there. Thanks for sharing Bob and bee family. Congratulations to Seth. Hope today goes good for him and his new bride.
Enjoyed this. Getting my foliage fix vicariously through your videos. I spotted an IBC storage tank for sale out in front of the shop. I could sure use one. Congratulations to Seth and Rev. Jesse.
Peak 2 days ago NC side of Smoky Mountain National Park. Tennessee side will peak this week. It was pretty green two days ago. Nice video, Bob. Good way to start my day.
When you started showing the sourwoods how red they are, you panned the camera around, the hands working for you in the background, are they playing “mummily peg “ with hive tools or knives????? My granddaddy had us playing that as boys. Gave me a huge smile! Another great video Bob!!!!
Thanks for another informative video and congratulations to the newlyweds! You mentioned you migratory covers, how many can you make out of a 4x8 sheet of HDO?
Hi Bob, My wife and I have been having some difficulty in our, mostly internet based research, finding information relative to propolis mixtures, concentrations, ratios, treatments and dosages for both human, and especially for equine stomach ulcers. We make a 1 to 5 parts alcohol base tincture, but I'm not sure if that is what is meant by 20% concentration when others talk about concentrations. There seems to be a lot of agreement and talk about 30% being a good dosage for certain uses but no context for what is meant by 30%. Anyway, I was wondering if you knew of any sources that could help us better understand propolis apitherapy applications and mixtures. Thanks, Dan Dahlberg, A Bee Connection, Bellingham WA
I'm not well versed in all that. I use propolis quite a bit personally but I just chew it for a long time and then swallow it. Sorry, not much help with this. You may find our video "Propolis" with Cindy Hodges interesting. ua-cam.com/video/fb5Pkwmcwgg/v-deo.html
Hello Mr. Binnie, please give my congrats to Seth and his new bride. Im making nuc boxes and i know youve put holes in the bottom boards. I live in Ontario Canada and wondered at what temps would holes be beneficial or a hinderence. Thanks for the vids sir.
We only put holes in the bottom boards of nucs that we know will be screened and used for transportation. I don't know how cold is too cold with those holes but I do notice a lot less condensation issues in cold weather.
Hello Bob. I'm finishing up feeding today. They have slowed down taking the syrup , because of the night temperatures are getting cold. A few is a little light. So I will place some fondant on those.
Great video on using nucs to correct wayward production hives. You talked about it a little on the live chat with the Streamteam the other night but you noticed a pattern with regards to location/elevation etc on the yards that you have been having issues with them going queenless?
Hello Bob I enjoy both side of your Business videos. A question I have always heard that sourwood trees do not produce nectar in the lower elevation do you know if that is true an why they do not ??. Congratulations to Seth . The real reason he cut his hair was so his wife would not have something to grab an lead him around by 😂😂. I hope it is long lasting an full . We just had our 43rd year anniversary 🎉🎉. Bob thanks for everything you do. THANKS
Hello Bob, Greetings from Australia. Your countryside is so pristine, its easy to see why bees would do so well. We are currently very dry here and in desperate need of rain for a Summer honey flow. Do you only use Apivar in nucs and not in big hives? I sent an email a few weeks back. We have to learn about mite here now. Regards Lachlan
We haven't used Apivar in anything for several years. It does work but not as good as we like so we use other things for the full hives. I'm beginning to lean towards organic acids and essential oils because they leave very little or no residue in the combs. I'll be putting out a video this winter on chemical interactions in our colonies and what to avoid for miticides. Specifically anything with fluvalinate (Apistan) and coumaphos (Checkmite).
Hey mate. My family run a beekeeping business in New Zealand we pollinate kiwifruit and then we chase Manuka Honey, I was wondering if you would be interested in an exchange, as in we send someone over there and you send and you send someone over here? Would that be something you are interested in?
Congratulations Seth!
“Married in the morning but otherwise nothing much “. 😂 😂😂
I went to the wedding today. Very nice country wedding.
There are a lot of great beekeeping channels on UA-cam. Yours is my favorite.
I agree.
All the best to Seth and his bride, a long, happy life.
Watch these right before bed. Very relaxing. NOT boring !

Thanks for another informative video and congratulations to the newlyweds! You mentioned you migratory covers, how many can you make out of a 4x8 sheet of HDO?
Depending on how it's cut we get ten ten frame lids from a sheet or eight ten frame lids and four nuc box lids.
Congrats, Seth! And sorry for your loss, Jesse! 😂😂😂
A bit different video but a good one as always. Hopefully Seth's wedding went off well and everyone is happy!

@@bobbinnie9872 ok understood, and thank you very much. Appreciate your responding and your advice/ knowledge. Have a good day sir.
Good morning Bob... im amazed at how industrious you are... up here in Greenville NC, I've had a few hive losses that i do not know why
Hang in there!
@@bobbinnie9872 thank you, I was the guy at hive alive with the wires hanging out of my head. I appreciate your videos

No patterns as far as location. Just poor queens or mistakes in management which I might put in a video soon.

Hi Kathy. I'm sure why Sourwood doesn't produce at lower elevations but it is true. 43 years 👍
I notice that you have frame feeders in your double deeps and you put a bucket feeder on it too are you filling both feeders?
We were filling both earlier on colonies that were extra light but now we're only filling buckets.
Great show old man
Bob did you notice any immediate results with the probiotics .?
We saw a difference after a few treatments. This Sunday's video will share more.
Those hives are in the shade. Any hive beatle issues?
That was early morning. They get sun a bit later and there seems to be little beetle trouble there.
I Enjoyed the clip Bob! I got a question for you when is the website going to be up? Every time I look at it is says your sight will be up soon
We've been saying "soon" for a while. Hopefully some time this winter.
So what are the chances of getting a sapling of the sourwood tree. It would be a great time to ship to Sylvania, Ohio. Two to three foot bare root?
I haven't mentioned this yet but soon we hope to offer some seeds. Watch for that video.
@@bobbinnie9872 I also have interest in the Sourwood, I would definitely buy some seeds when available.
I will probably miss out on the introduction.
Well, I sent my stamped envelope in. I can't wait to get them outside to vernalize.

How did your yard do that was affected by the pesticides? Did they bounce back?
A bit. We're hoping most of them make it.
Best wishes .
Well it snowed last night and its about 31F
Winter has arrived
It will be spring before we know it. 😎
Dark @07:00 and gets dark again @18:00
I get lots of sleep when its like this 😂
How come sometimes you use frame feeders and sometimes you use buckets?
We prefer buckets for general feeding but will also use inside feeders on extra light double deeps.
Good mornig, Bob.😊
Good morning Richard.
I wish Seth best wishes. Was he packing his pistol because of the bride’s family or his?
I think both families are safe. It's just something he does.😬
Always good to be prepared.
I noticed that too. Anyone know what it is he's carrying?
@@beebob1279 He is a smart American.
Good Morning Bob !
Good morning sir.
On one gallon we last many?
Please put in a picture of the Bride and Groom 👰♀️ 🤵♂️ 🙏🏼 ❤️ 😊

That sounds like fun and thanks for the offer but it's probably not practical for us at this time.
I can't afford to sell one gallon honey
On shelf s I will drill holes hold the jar s better and safety
I sell 8 Oz for 8 to 10 dollar s
I guess it’s smart on your part not showing your guys doing deliveries and distribution of honey.
I wouldn't mind. I just have to get them on video.
Congratulations Seth!
