Amazing!! It's very hard to find a stylist who understands how to cut fine hair.

Thank you thank you !! Cutting fine hair to look thicker is a skill that is so hard to find in hairdressers these days. Please do more videos on this, and would be great to see one for fine hair like this one, with overall length that’s 4-6” longer

I'd like to see him do this on real person because fine hair is usually at the top of the head and this mannequin has a ton of hair at that spot with a short forehead. Would really appreciate it redone on real person with thin and fine hair.

You nailed it. Also, the hairstyle was pretty much formed already. Would love to see this on a real person with one length fine, straight hair.

Well mine is fine and the majority of it is at the top. My hair is a lot like the mannequin.

Thank you I was going to write this exact same message. The top of my hair and around the temples of my hair are just fly away little feathers that are almost non-existent someone with truly fine and thin hair don't have anything on top to make it look that much volume as the mannequin does. I have a mannequin and no matter what way you cut it it always looks good. My hair is super thin on top due to age and stress. I would like to see him on a real person's hair with the thinness on top not just each hair being fine but also thin.

I self-cut my own hair like this & it looks good whether I leave it in its naturally wavy state or if I use a straightening brush. Air dry & no product needed.

Watching this video I kept saying he's not cutting anything off but at the end, what a difference! I have been trying to have by stylist give me layers for months but to no avail. I have had a bob for what seems like an eternity and I literally hate bobs, I like messy cuts. For the better part of my adult life I have had perms which gave me body but now I'm told because I color my hair and my hair type, I can no longer get a perm. I have been looking for haircuts for fine, thin hair forever! It is truly frustrating! I will show my stylist this video, thanks.

You’re a genius ! I wish I could find a stylist with your expertise. I found one once, my baby fine hair didn’t even need any product, I let it dry by itself and it had volume. She left the state :( Haven’t yet found anyone like her, just those thinking they know what they’re doing except it ends up looking limp.

Fine hair-each strand is very skinny
Thin hair -means you don’t have much hair per square inch.
Thick hair-means you have a lot of hair per square inch!
Fine and thin hair-means you don’t have very many skinny hair per square inch!

I am a retired hairdresser. A good hair cut will basically fall into place if it is properly cut. One thing to take into consideration with each client is, do they have any odd growth patterns like a “cow lick”, or one area naturally thicker or thinner than the majority of the hair. All of these things need to be taken into consideration, and adjustments made to the cut. For these clients, a dry cut is best, to insure that it falls to its naturally position before you run your shears through it. You can always take more off, but you can’t put it back on!!
Thanks for showing this great cut! 🤗

  • @SeanHayesParleys
    @SeanHayesParleys 5 років тому +4

I do appreciate your work and starting your knowledge. Will you consider incorporating two elements intro your tutorials?
First, enlist a videographer to show the haircut and stopping from your point of view or at least from someone standing next to you.
Second, explain how you section the hair and at what degree you're cutting. Here, you're cutting 90° to the head shape, so you're borrowing your guide from some of the previous section, but other cuts are different and sometimes you gloss over the internal layering or graduation moving around the head quickly. Viewers likely haven't been cutting for 20+ years and will appreciate seeing clean sections , where you are directing the hair, and why you're cutting where you cut.
All in all, these are helpful tutorials. Thank you very much for creating these helpful guides.

Thank you for the video. Could you create a similar video with a fringe that doesn’t fall into our eyes? I now have mostly one length or no fringe. Can’t agree with the thought of hair all in my face like that, but the cut looks great. Also, prefer to avoid heat styling other than a blow dry with protective spray. Could use steam curlers as they seem gentle.

I would give anything to visit you. I would love to combine THIS cut with " The sexiest layered hair cut." (on youtube) I think most of us want long layers in the back and sides combined with face framing layers that feather and BLEND. But getting such a simple cut is virtually impossible. If I show a beautician in my area (even offering a VERY nice tip) they act like I am telling them how to do their job. NO!!! Either they will layer and gap my hair so bad that it takes years to grow out or they take the safe route, barely trim the ends and leave the front of my hair alone (which is a mess and the very area that needs attention, giving it that beautiful angle like you have shown) I don't know what to do. So I keep trimming the ends and wearing it up in a bun. Vit. D+ Magnesium on top of other things is helping my hair loss. Thank you so much for sharing you amazing abilities! Beautiful hair cut.

Can you do a cut for wavy to curly hair? I have fine texture thin density hair with waves and curls. I cut layers into it and want to achieve the all over curl look with bangs but I can’t seem to get my side to flow evenly with my top layers it always seems like there’s a dent right at my ear. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I have always cut my own hair i did hair for many years but stopped when I had my family and never went back. So I do have a knowledge of hair. I just am not sure if it’s the cut or how I’m styling it. Also FRIZZ oh my word how to tame the frizz!! Any ideas?

I know that I need to go shorter to create volume but I’m afraid if I cut too much off it will feel like I have three hairs on my head. The sections at my temples are very thin (male pattern thinning ugh) so I don’t know if this cut would work for me. My hair seems finer than the mannequin’s.

I love the look, of layered, feathered hair, but I am afraid it won't come out looking as pretty as the mannequins..I have thin hair but it's curly corkscrew type texture. Thank God for that, because if I let it go straight it looks very flat and thin. Even my face looks different. I look prettier with curly dark brown hair. I have curly hair, and it makes my look like a have a full head of hair, then I rather keep my long curly hair...😩😩
