In the fall of 2018, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, Steve Perry made his long-awaited return with the release of ""Traces"", the legendary musician’s first new album in 25 years. The album’s personal expression of love, inspiration and renewal resonated with both critics and fans around the world, thrilled to have their ‘voice of a generation’ making new music once again.
Now, on ""Traces (Alternative Versions & Sketches)"", Perry revisits several of his favorite tracks, stripping away the grand production touches, taking the songs down to their essence. Presented acoustic and raw, (including some in sketch form) tracks like “Sun Shines Gray,” “No Erasin’,” “No More Cryin’,” and “Most Of All” take on new and richer meaning. In this setting, Perry’s iconic soulful voice glides out-front vibrant, clear and warm while the lyrics take on greater significance as well, even more intimate than before.

I'm only 15, so I wasn't around for Steve Perry when he was in his prime. I started listening to his music about 4 years ago and prayed every day that he would one day return. When I saw that he was planning on releasing his first album in 25 years, I started crying tears of joy. Steve, your music has helped me in more ways that you would ever know. A whole new generation to appreciate what "real" music is. Natural sounds. Journey always recorded live. No drum machines, or alternative sounds to change the voice. Just pure talent.
I don't have the words for how much I love Steve'e new music. His voice has been the love of my life since I was a teenager. I would give just about anything to hear him sing live again.

Honestly, the lockdown period is the perfect excuse to do 1 or a few online performances. Even a pre-recorded & produced performance. The fans would eat it up. It might even stop people from asking for the one more performance live.

Steve Perry you definitely really can sing absolutely anything and still sound so amazingly good. I definitely lost the love of my life in 2019 to kidney failure and been he was on dialysis for 15 years and there wasn't a donor but before that I lost my brother to esophagus cancer in 2017 but definitely crushed me when my brother and husband passed away exactly two years and 5 days apart and held both of them in my arm's when they passed. I really do feel your pain and thanks so much for coming back and making this album because it definitely helped and I'm at peace know that there not suffering anymore because it definitely was a long battle with my husband of 21 years and I know people say I'm young I'm 43 going to be 44 on January 10th. I thank you so much for coming back and singing and the lyrics are on point 100 percent. Please stay safe though this difficult time in the world and hope to here more music from you as well. Thanks again for returning to music and singing just know it's felt in the heart.

I just listen to Steve Perry's acoustic version of No Erasin. I love his harmony. I listened to the 30-minute Steve Perry selection which is on Spotify yesterday, and that is excellent. The original No Erasing was on Spotify. I like both versions. But I really love the acoustic version because it came from Steve pushing through all that we had to push through in 2020. Thanks Steve.
