I forgot to add: if I could change anything about Mosko gear - I'd love to see CE certification ratings. I can't think of many other downsides - other than the premium price level. ALSO - Yes, you can tell I've been getting all my gear reviews out the past 2 weeks - there's only one more gear video, and then we resume our regular bike reviews as always!

CE rating. . . "sigh". . . Why? . . . It's a U.S.A. company with garments ethically manufactured in Bangladesh. To subject them to E.U. CE certification would only drive their costs even higher. It's excellent gear meant for people who understand and accept the inherent risks of Motorsports.

They are working on an integrated armor versions of the basilisk, with ce rating. Seems like they cannot ce rate the clothes without protections. That’s what they told me, should come out on mid 2024

Correct. CE rating requires both abrasion and impact. The MM gear has no integrated armor so it won't pass the impact bar.@@jrams.g

The prices are total madness at this point. The basilisk used to cost 700CAD$, which already was too expensive to begin with. Now they sell them for 990CAD$ which is absolutely ridiculous even considering how well made their apparel is.
That said, do keep an eye out for the Dirty Bird sales. I scored a pair of Basilisk pants for under 400CAD$. Basically brand new.

I’m 99% street rider, but went with the Woodsman pant and Leatt knee guards. Most riding pants fit like tents on my skinny legs or look like rain gear. The Mosko pants are extremely well made, comfortable and waterproof enough for anything other than a deluge. The knee guards surprisingly are comfortable too. Al together I couldn’t be happier or more well protected. This separation of outer layer and armor is growing on me.

I mean, with the vents closed, at what temperature those things become too hot? As for competitors I would name Klim Raptor which is gore-tex, Revit Component (which is not and no-one has ever seen specs for Revit Hydratex membrane), something from Adventure Spec line. Thanks!

One thing that MoskoMoto should really make different is -the neck or collar of the Basilisk jacket. The first thing it's just way too hard, stiff, and very uncomfortable, especially if you like to shave every morning- it just cuts into your skin. Another issue- the bright colors around the neck (like the outer side). If you are traveling for a long period and sleeping in a tent, there is no chance you gonna wash this jacket every third or so day, especially since you need to carry special detergents for the waterproof materials. From riding in the dust and rubbing into the bottom of the helmet it gets dirty swiftly, up to the level it isn't very comfortable to walk in public. The solution would be just to make some dark and soft material around the neck area and it would be the perfect jacket at least for me.

I say best bang for your buck is to get some articulating knee guards like the leatt ones and one of the many armored jerseys, the leatt again looking like the nicer offering. Wear dwr hiking pants under the knee guards, with merino long underwear if cool. Wear hiking rain pants over that if cold or raining. Wear a light weight merino base layer under the armored jersey if cool and a hoodie/3 layer goretex or event over that if cold or rainy. That way the only things you're buying into that are exclusively for riding are the knee guards and the armored jersey. All the rest of the gear you can wear day to day if you're the outdoorsy type.

I'm not sold on the idea of giving up on abrasion resistance in the outer shell unless you're off-road only. Even then a decent fall on a stony trail or into the bushes will tear through any light fabric and start taking off skin from arms, hips and butt.
On-road, worse again, and I don't trust body armor to hold together in a slide. The straps on MX-style armor and the mesh in compression shirts will last about a tenth of a second if unprotected in a slide, there goes your armor, and the sequel to that doesn't bear thinking about.

"Armor", CE or not is virtually worthless in the real world.. Being a Traffic Homicide Investigator for 12 years in Central Florida specializing in motorcycle crashes.. yes crashes not "accidents"... Armor does little to protect the rider in the event of a crash.. why?.. because once impact occurs the rider will usually be ejected resulting in tumbling not "sliding" negating the myth of abrasion resistance.. As for the "armor", unless it's constructed similar to what football players wear....that's also a myth, those thing little flexible panels in your elbows, shoulder area, center back and where ever else the manufacturers place them giving the purchaser the deadly illusion you'll be safe in a crash are also worthless at speeds greater then you typical walking speed .. the vast majority of motorcycle fatalities the primary COD ( cause of death) listed in the autopsy report is "Blunt Force Trauma".... As for helmets, they determine if the funeral will be open casket or closed gasket... And don't buy into anything "inflatable" for rider safety... It's a dangerous marketing ploy from the manufacturers... and a running joke to those of us who actually work these crashes..

Their prices are daylight robbery. The fact that they pay someone to promote doesn't justify it as there is way more affordable and quality competition. As someone mentioned it is produced in Bangladesh ethicaly. What that mean as they still pay local labour cost for manufacturing overated expensive products. If you buy this you would probably feel mugged but in a nice way😂. It is stupid to buy a motorbike and think about the price and then allow overpriced scammers to rip you off. It is better to reward honest not greedy manufacturers and they exist on the market.
