I’m a working senior copywriter and I wanted to add one more kernel of advice or pro tip on ad portfolios: I feel that visitors should pickup on your vibe/voice upon hitting your landing page, meaning without having to click into your work/projects. Your landing page or homepage should communicate a bunch about you, but immediately. Via self branding, not via text. I also have a channel and a new book.
this was a great video! my first portfolio was a weebly website lol! in the meantime i use adobe portfolio but i would like to buy my own domain / transition to square space before I graduate !
I’d love some advice about what jobs I should apply for. I’m graduating in May and don’t know if I should go for junior copywriter, strategist, account coordinator positions! I love your tiktoks and have followed you for a while and you’re awesome for starting a channel :D
Hi. I'm finding your videos really interesting and helpful. I'm currently a business analyst but looking to switch to a role that I'm infinitely more passionate about. Really at the absolute beginning of the journey. Can you just create items to put in your portfolio for your own benefit? E.g. they haven't come from a professional requirement/job role. Sorry, long message, I'm currently full of questions. Love the videos!
Yes you can! When you're first starting out, prospective employers know that you won't have many/any actual client work, so what they're looking for in your portfolio is just potential. So you make spec work or put side projects in your portfolio to showcase what you're capable of and that you can think creatively.
Hey im currently in highschool and I have passion regarding creating projects and doing it in teamwork i actually get thrilled whenever there's a project to be be done is announced and with this passion and liking towards these things and to add up I'm quite participative in art competition and artistic competition and even win many of them. I was thinking of starting graphic designing as a freelancer and keep it up in portfolio will that be good for me when i go up for the interview after my degree will it act as a bonus?

Thank you for watching! I'll definitely do a video with a breakdown of the different positions and their responsibilities. Hopefully that will help!
Thank you!
Thanks for the content!
Can you share those websites for reference? I’m an advertising student and I’m kind of lost creating my portfolio

@@StuffAboutAdvertising thank you :)
Thanks so much
CIAO Ashley,
Can I ask you a suggestion for building my portfolio?
What is the best aspect ratio for a PDF portfolio?
I don’t see many PDF portfolios but I’d probably default to 8.5x11 and landscape orientation.
Thank you, me too but it's a school request@@StuffAboutAdvertising
