THIS FOUNDATION WAS A MASSIVE STRUGGLE FOR ME 😢 I AM ON A LARGE WRAP AROUND EXTENSION FOR ANOTHER BUILDER.
THE CONCRETE IS OUT OF LEVEL SO WE HAVE A PIG TO BUILD IN AND IT GETS WORSE WHEN AN EXTRA PART ID ADDED WITH A DOG LEG, WATER PIPE AND NUMEROUS SOLI PIPES IN THE WAY.
THIS IS JUST THE START OF WHAT TURNS OUT TO BE A HORRIBLE BUILD FROM START TO FINISH... ENJOY, WE DIDN'T

You need to charge more, I think you are following my path and getting the work others don’t want, and the customer knows how good your work is!!
😔🧱👍🏽
Been there.
😒😒🧱👍🏽
Steve, even with pain and discomfort on an unlikable job, the attention to detail is spot on! Alex, stay positive, another day nearer to seeing your bo again!
Alex is currently sat in the kitchen with Nea 😆🤔🧱👍🏽
All that because the concrete footings were wrong, I assume. Great job and well done for overcoming the pain of your hip. Rest well on the day off.
Yes it’s a lot of extra work 😒. I rest when it rains 😆🧱👍🏽
That's hard going Steve but you still done it.
Cheers Richard, not fun at all 😢🧱👍🏽
your a beast Steve, what a grafter you are. hats off to ya 🤛👏👏👏
Cheers Andy 😆🧱👍🏽
Great job Steve you deserve rest on that job looks like big job 👍👍
Cheers Dave it was awful 😫🧱👍🏽
That’s one thing Steve does make sure it’s right, top builders for me ❤ to Alex
Cheers Scott 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽
really enjoyed this video. You did not do the dig and the levels were not perfect to the gauge. You work hard to get that right and so sometimes your part of the work looks dead easy. So good to see that work involved to getting it right. I like the way you take the time to explain the issues and how you have got over it or the best solution.
Keep up the good work
Cheers Andrew 🧱👍🏽
Great job
Ta John 🧱👍🏽
Awesome video thanks for your time and consideration top job top team 🇬🇧
Cheers Phil 🧱👍🏽
Great job lads love watching your video's on here 👍💪
Thanks very much 😁🧱👍🏽
I really feel sorry for you Steve in so much pain and you carry on like an old soldier but good on you , that is some extension ,that shovel you called the grafter looks a bit like one of those new ones on the tell but that,s got a saw edge on it and a good idea on the tape ,thanks very much for the video.
Cheers Eddie 🧱👍🏽
always excellent work
Cheers Paul 🧱👍🏽
Hard graft and in constant pain my hat goes off to you Steve
Cheers 😟🧱👍🏽
You ask a lot off yourself Steve, maybe to much. But anyway I think your are a great professional and a very brave man. Compliments from your Dutch fan.
Thanks very much Gert 🙏🏽🧱👍🏽
I would have thought it was asking for trouble feeding an external gulley into a pipe under the foundations, which will presumably be concreted over. But you have to do what the boss wants. Somebody else's problem if it goes wrong in the future.
Not a nice site but as usual you make the best of it 👍
I hate pipes under floors 😒🧱👍🏽
Almost late! Evening Steve/Alex and you all.
😊
Hi Dave 🤣🧱👍🏽
oh bricklaying is easy lol great job steve...they have no idea when it comes to extensions i know been there done that never straight forward..the drawings cant see underground it looks ok on paper
So true 😫😫🧱👍🏽
Make anything work with a pencil and paper. Slightly different when you actually have to do the job
@dmarriott9701 🧱👍🏽
Interesting one this steve, but a nightmare at the same time 😢😢 just sayin from North of Newcastle 🧱👍🍺
Yes very true 😒
Great video Steve, do you find the green light of the laser better than a red one ??
Never had a red laser do not sure 🤔 👍🏽🧱
Looked hard for you Steve bless u soldiered on thou…..ere I heard you say totem timber that’s my supplier down here in Plymouth didn’t know they had any up where you are

Steve, love the work you and Alex do and the vids, but that music!!!
Thanks , just turn down the time lapse parts 🧱👍🏽
Big respect steve, You sounded full of a cold and 2 dodgy hips!! It's good job alex is only an employee he'd never get away with leaving his ilk partner doing the work while he's seeing his girlfriend!! Love the channel. Your a real grafter
🧱👍🏽
Where do we contact you about future work? We’re trying to get an extension done got drawings planning permission just need builder now . Going out 2.5mtre at rear of property ground floor and need a man hole moving .

🧱👍🏽
Great video as ever but.... some if the music I have to mute!
🧱👍🏽
Great work 👍Two questions: the cavity looks small, was it old or new regs (with internal insultation)? The drain looks low or is it me?
100 mm cavity… stay tuned .
Low drain ?
@@SteveAndAlexBuild The gully looked like it was well below ground level?
It had an extension piece put on later 🧱👍🏽
I thinking i wil used tail adesive and Will be only 3mm beds
😬🧱👍🏽
Great stuff - which model of laser are you using?
It’s a Milwaukee 12v one 🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild many thanks
👍🏽👍🏽
I may be thick, but is there more than12v one on the laser as a model as on supply sites that is not mentioned - there are all sorts!
Sorry to be a pain 😢
@DHanley-l3n m12 CLLP-301C .
That one is good but if you can afford it get this model
M123PL-401C 360 ° 3 PLANE LASER 🤌🏾🤌🏾🧱👍🏽
Y el vídeo de la excavación no lo ponéis?....😀
No we were not involved with the dig 🧱👍🏽
Have you had new hip Steve? I'm 62 yr old brickie waiting for op. How long did it take before you were back to work?
Great vids by the way.
Been waiting a year in a few days , no op 😔🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild bless I have a trapped nerve in my back and had to ret retire from bricklaying at 53 yrs just as I got there be safe Steve ❤
@scotthaxell556 🥺🧱👍🏽
Is it really on Sunday Steve?? Or Monday 1st? Cheers.
Oops I will check 😬🧱👍🏽
Sorted 🙌🏽🙌🏽
When all the non productive time is taken into account ie, rained off, sorting supplies and materials, waiting for jobs/customers to be ready for you, etc, etc. what % of a typical week is faffing about and nannying everyone and everything?
Thanks guys.
So true 😒🧱👍🏽
You got quit the job going there. Looks like a bit of a challenge but I’m sure you guys will get it right in the end. Why didn’t the pour the concrete foundation at a higher level so you wouldn’t need so many courses of blocks to get up to grade. Cheers
We didn’t do the footings mark 😒🧱👍🏽
You can pick em 😀I’m convinced your jobs are getting harder
Me too ! 😳😢🧱👍🏽
Probably the worst possible type of job for you with your hip/leg issues, true grit!
Absolutely 🥺🧱👍🏽
Guys that looked like a sod of a job one of the only consolations were that the weather stayed dry imaged had that guy got someone with a poor work ethic and less professionalism to that job wonder how it would have looked?
Cheers pal 🧱👍🏽
Alright Steve. I think with the trench having such a wide surface area i would of been tempted to bump them up with a mega strong mix.
Always down to us to put the shit right 😠😡🧱👍🏽
Just give the young fella the keys off the van have a few days off Steve u must be in agony down in them holes
Al wouldn’t get far he can’t drive 🧱👍🏽
Reporting AWOL! I was abducted by several pints of Brooklyn!
🤨🤨🟨👈🏾
C L E A R T H E P I G
🐽🐽🐽
When’s your knee surgery due?
Knee !? 😳. My hip op is next year 😔😔🧱👍🏽
What on earth is in that lead pipe?
Water supply 🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild
Is there no program to replace those? The City of Detroit had all kinds of stories about old lead water pipes poisoning the kids. We certainly cannot use those anymore, nor leave them if found.
Let’s just say it’s a bit more chaotic in the uk 🙄🧱👍🏽
Houses built in the UK since 1970 couldn’t have lead mains pipe. Owners of houses built before then are responsible for replacing any lead pipes but only is they want to! Simple enough process but comes at a cost so many, like myself, don’t bother as risk of lead poisoning is very low or non existent if pipes are undamaged and in regular use! When I eventually resurface/replace my driveway I’ll install new EPDM (plastic) mains then
@@SteveAndAlexBuild And here I was thinking of the US as the wild, wild west. Thanks.
Never use profiles how out of square it is🤣🤣entry 3 stuff😉👍🏻
Bows out on each corner
.
.
Whats going on with that back door with the panel under?
You didn’t watch then 🙄
You speaking English?
Yes
You are a proper man hope you can retire early
Once my hips are done I will be back at it properly 😁🧱👍🏽
god why suc loud janga janga music time to unsuvcrive
Time to learn to spell 😳👋🏾👋🏾👋🏾
Chaps,
Some jobs are just like that........An awkward cuss of a job - and you know instinctively as soon as you roll up on site, that its going to be a stinker....!!
Following someone else`s work that is poorly built, tight site and lack of room to work properly, materials missing, additional work......and on it goes.
"Dont worry- the Brickie will get over it," they say. Sometimes it`s just a long hard slog. And that is the epitome of the building game......!
On a different note, I wonder what the life expectancy of those trench blocks is...? I know what the manufacturers say, but I wonder how long they last in the real world.?
I can remember doing brick footings, 16 or 18 courses of hard burnt stocks, two spreader courses off of a concrete base, then upto D.P.C in either English Bond or Header bond solid work, slurry grouted every 4th course. Proper brick footings designed and built to last. Completely different now of course....!
Happy days.🥴🧱🧱😁👍
This job was shite right to the last block 😢😞🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild However, you overcame the problems and issues and got the job done. Now that is the mark of a real Tradesman.
All lesser mortals would be "bitching & cussing," and many would have walked.
👍👍🔥
The bitching and cussing were edited out 🫣😆.
If I had had an inkling how bad it was going to be I would have swerved it for sure .
I’m in too much pain to have stress on top too .
I’ve turned a few extensions down lately. If I need to keep working ( reluctantly) I want it to be as stress free as possible for me and my carer Alex 😟😟.
Life in general isn’t fun unfortunately but I need to keep getting up every day until I can finally get fixed. 🥺🧱👍🏽
ANOTHER POINTLESS EXTENSION!
The customer doesn’t think so and why all caps ? 🤣🤣
@@SteveAndAlexBuild I will say one thing, that comment from Paul, was very pointless in itself.
He is so dense that light bends round him.....
🧱👍😁
PS= He clearly has not discovered where the "Caps Lock," key is on his keyboard.......
@martin2466 😂😂😂🧱👍🏽
