THIS FOUNDATION WAS A MASSIVE STRUGGLE FOR ME 😢 I AM ON A LARGE WRAP AROUND EXTENSION FOR ANOTHER BUILDER.
THE CONCRETE IS OUT OF LEVEL SO WE HAVE A PIG TO BUILD IN AND IT GETS WORSE WHEN AN EXTRA PART ID ADDED WITH A DOG LEG, WATER PIPE AND NUMEROUS SOLI PIPES IN THE WAY.
THIS IS JUST THE START OF WHAT TURNS OUT TO BE A HORRIBLE BUILD FROM START TO FINISH... ENJOY, WE DIDN'T

really enjoyed this video. You did not do the dig and the levels were not perfect to the gauge. You work hard to get that right and so sometimes your part of the work looks dead easy. So good to see that work involved to getting it right. I like the way you take the time to explain the issues and how you have got over it or the best solution.
    Keep up the good work

I would have thought it was asking for trouble feeding an external gulley into a pipe under the foundations, which will presumably be concreted over. But you have to do what the boss wants. Somebody else's problem if it goes wrong in the future.
Not a nice site but as usual you make the best of it 👍

Houses built in the UK since 1970 couldn’t have lead mains pipe. Owners of houses built before then are responsible for replacing any lead pipes but only is they want to! Simple enough process but comes at a cost so many, like myself, don’t bother as risk of lead poisoning is very low or non existent if pipes are undamaged and in regular use! When I eventually resurface/replace my driveway I’ll install new EPDM (plastic) mains then

    Chaps,
Some jobs are just like that........An awkward cuss of a job - and you know instinctively as soon as you roll up on site, that its going to be a stinker....!!
Following someone else`s work that is poorly built, tight site and lack of room to work properly, materials missing, additional work......and on it goes.
"Dont worry- the Brickie will get over it," they say. Sometimes it`s just a long hard slog. And that is the epitome of the building game......!
On a different note, I wonder what the life expectancy of those trench blocks is...? I know what the manufacturers say, but I wonder how long they last in the real world.?
I can remember doing brick footings, 16 or 18 courses of hard burnt stocks, two spreader courses off of a concrete base, then upto D.P.C in either English Bond or Header bond solid work, slurry grouted every 4th course. Proper brick footings designed and built to last. Completely different now of course....!
    Happy days.🥴🧱🧱😁👍
