Fun ear candy. Unfortunately, there’s a lot wrong with the analysis here. Tahoe is a glacial lake; it was not covered by the great inland sea at any point. Ancient Lake Lahontan did house aquatic dinosaurs, but the only remnants of that lake are Pyramid, Walker, and current Lahontan lakes (Salt Lake also is a remnant of the ancient inland sea). Plesiosaurs, Ichthyosaurs, and Basilosaurus were all air breathers. We’d be seeing them at the surface. The guys might be right that there are undiscovered species of fish in Tahoe’s depths, but they would likely be salmonid or other freshwater species that are small, and do not account for “monster” sightings.
Thats what i figured, the fish and game gentleman told me that they get reports of 18 foot sturgeon like creature every summer. he is convinced something unknown lives in the lake.
Seeming like there's a bit of mystery left in the world yet!
