    This was a very helpful video, thank you!
    I love that it has no background music, no annoying sound effects, no begging for "like & subscribe" in the first few seconds of the video, no long intro, and was straight to the point. Thank you for not following the cliché recipe of most UA-cam videos!
    The fact you didn't cut out the errors you faced and showed how you solved them was great too, as it teaches troubleshooting skills. Your enthusiasm shows and is contagious!
    Cheers from someone that has never felt compelled to write a comment on YT nor send a "Super Thanks" :)

    Great tutorial, in the second method at 39:00 where you where having trouble doing the extrude from an offset sketch, I believe the trick was to set the extrude to object to CHAIN the faces

    Very well done! I've taught advanced Sketchup, AutoCad, 3dsMax and various PC game editors for many years, now retired and modeling r/c stuff for fun. You did a great job of comparing the three techniques side-by-side, something everyone always wants to know..."which technique to use"? The part I really appreciated was starting around 32:20 when errors started popping up. It was great that you included rather than editing out. These errors ALWAYS pop up, good job showing different problem solving techniques to overcome. Students need to see this, understand it is part of the process, and know how to deal with them. Thanks!

    Nice - note that you can split a body using a sketch line, no need to extrude a face first.

    hello, I have been learning fusion 360 modeling(I came from solidworks). My goal is to be able to 3d model highly organic and complicated forms like the shoe yeezy foam runner( which is crazy I know). I was wondering if you could do a tutorial that highlights important features,tools and techniques to learn to achieve these forms. Thanks!

    • @learnitalready
      @learnitalready  5 місяців тому

      That is a great idea for a series of tutorials. Have you seen our other series of tutorials on how to work with forms? Each tutorial teaches a different method or important aspect of form modeling that you need to keep in mind. You might especially benefit from tutorial 4 but make sure you go through each one of them so that you’re ready for applying the concepts in tutorial 4. All the best! Here’s the playlist:

    Great Tutorials. I have been working on learning Fusion360 Hobbyist version for use with 3d printer at design components and such. I am learning to walk with Fusion at this point, still learning lots of basic drawing constraint rules and how to get around a bit. Keep the tutorials coming, good stuff. Much appreciated! I also own SolidWorks hobby license which they had a special on at $38 a year. SolidWorks seems bit more complicated to me, for now starting out and learning Fusion which seems easier to me. I did do drafting stuff with original CAD programs many decades ago. Learning to walk first and hopefully will get faster as I learn to use shortcuts and get a handle on constraints and various types of lines. Are there any books I can supplement with videos, I do find it helps to have at least one or two books where I can read up on the theory or the why to complicate the online video training. Thanks for any and all information.

      SOLIDWORKS is also an excellent piece of software. For me, it was more difficult to learn too, and I found the cost of a full license unjustifiable at the time. We owned a seat of Mastercam for many years as well. It was frustrating to get technical reps and trainers in, only for them to not help in the end. They were over $1000 just to get through our door! I also worked with Siemens NX for years - don’t get me started on pricing and support with that software! Regardless, as you improve your skills, you’ll find that each software is really just a tool to get done what you need to get done. For me, Fusion checks all my current boxes and there is so much more to learn!
      I’ll try my best to keep these tutorials coming. I haven’t made any books on Fusion (although I’ve been thinking of publishing one), nor can I recommend any. Sorry about that. If I do, I’ll be sure to return to this post and recommend something. All the best!

    Awesome tutorial! At 25:16, you start working with the ellipse. However, the center of the ellipse is used to follow a spline. Additionally, you use the ellipse spline to determine the intersection path that is used as a guide line. I'm trying to make a fuel tank and it is basically the same design except the ellipse is rotated 90 degrees. I need the center of the ellipse at the centerline and the path to go from the front of the design to the rear; exactly what you do, except the spline is the actual centerline. When I generate the intersections, I get error messages stating my points are not on the path. Is there any way you can help me? 75 and getting frustrated. I've drawn it at least 3 times and can not figure it out.

      Hello! So glad that you enjoyed this tutorial. Thank you as well for reaching out. There is nothing more frustrating when using Fusion to get those types of alarms. I understand your pain!
      Can you send me a screenshot of your sketches to me at our business email please? You can find it on our channel page. I'm sorry, I can't post it here because UA-cam hides it (for good reason). Hope to hear from you soon!

      @@learnitalready Great news! I figured out that I just needed to use the 4 splines as guides. The actual centerline is the lofting path, so projecting the ellipse points to my sketches, everything worked like I wanted. Thanks for the offer for help.
