- There are many reasons to why you end up with sticky uv resin. Even after a long time under the light. Try this technique and let me know if it worked for you! This method was suggested by a user Hera Hair in one of my videos. I had to try it to see and did a bit of research the science behind it.

This worked so well! I was having so much trouble with some UV resin I bought from Daiso, it always came out sticky and even wiping with rubbing alcohol after curing didn’t fully remove the sticky layer. (I would still not recommend Daiso resin though…)
i wasn't very hopeful at first but my little test piece came out glossy and hard! no more stickiness! thanks for the short and very helpful video :)
edit: i cured a very small piece for 60 seconds until it was hard enough to pick up, then gently put it in a small container of water trying not to touch the surface or leave fingerprints, then cured again for 30 seconds
Thank you so much for posting this. You're a life saver.
Thank you so much! No amount of alcohol wipes was fixing it. This did!
I put uv resin on a wine glass and set it in the sun. I've been doing 1 layer a day or 1 layer every few days.
At night I bring them inside.
I swear I was able to make a finger print appear on something that should have been cured? When it is int he sun it looks and feels completely cured.
When I bring it inside it seems a bit tacky? What the heck am I doing wrong?? How is it cured then not cured?? Do u know? X.x
@@AlliiMariie, That’s very interesting indeed? Have you done any research on your own? That would drive me nuts until I at least tried to find out what caused that to happen! This is the kind of stuff that creates new discoveries while scientifically researching the cause and effects of WHY!!
I can't tell you how happy I am I found your video!!! I UV resin acrylic keychain blanks and the past couple of weeks I have not been able to make them non-sticky no matter how long I cured them and even took them outside after I had cured them using a UV nail lamp. This worked wonderfully!!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Just tried this on a small piece, and it works. Holy cow I was not expecting it to work, but it did.
Awesome!
You're an angel! Thank you so very much! I thought I'd ruined my work by adding UV resin to it and you just... saved it! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
I wish UA-cam let us save shorts bc this is so helpful
Thank you. I'm new and ordered the same resin from the same brand, but no matter what I did, it just wasn't fixing the problem. You've saved me so much trouble.
This definitely works! I’m so happy to finally have a solution to this
I'm so glad I subbed to your channel! I'll definitely be giving this a try!
You are the only resin crafter i trust in following her instructions , thank you 😄❤️
Amazing! I had this problem today! Will definitely try this out!
Thank you for the tips! Your videos have been the most helpful in explaining clearly for beginners! I will be working with shrink plastics and resin soon and this information is so important! Thanks again! ❤

This came in perfect timing!!
Another great tip, whoo hoo!!!
I needed this, thank you!!
Omg i was soo worried about the sticky backing to my earrings, id clean them with IPA and still feel sticky. This is soo helpful thank you!!!
So I tried this little "hack" and it worked! I was so happy!
Definitely worked, thanks so much
Omg!! I think I’m gonna cry!! Thanks so much! I was I little skeptical, but it work perfectly! 😍
Holy moly You are amazing.
OMG i gotta try this! they havealways come out of my molds a little tacky
Thank you so much!
How clever.
It worked great! How can I fix this issue on polymer clay?
It worked great!! Im still having trouble with the resin on my polymer clay being sticky. Any suggestions 🤔
OMG! This worked so so so so well!!!!!!!!!!
What time you put on uv lamp?
Thank you ❤
What sorcery is this!?!
Does the water need to have a certain temperature in order for this to work?
Also, once you apply UV resin, do you straight away place the item in water to cure with a UV light, or do you need to partly cure the UV resin first and then place the item in water to complete the curing process?
After your make your initial mould, put it in glycerine and cure it again.Glycerine will fill in all imperfections on the surface and remove sticky layer. This is what is professionally used.
Does this honestly work as well as u say it does?!? Omfg Ill love you forever if it does
This did not work for me. :-(
How many minute
I was told to just wash with cold water and you’re good. Maybe it depends on your uv resin
No washing with water won’t work
It cures shiny still, or does it dull it a bit?
It should still be shiny unless you touched it so much to the point where it lost its shine
But how do you fix the sticky issue if you cannot put the whole thing in water? Ie- inlay in wood
You shouldn’t use uv resin for inlays. I would sand off the sticky resin
Does anyone know? X.x am I crazy?? Haha
Whoa. I have some experiments to do. 😮
I do larger pendants, I’m still confused. So I should paint the pendant with UV resin, and then drop it in water? Or should I spray water over the surface? To be more clear on my pendants, they’re a clay backing and a metal “frame” looking bezel. I’m afraid dropping it into water will make the resin lift off/spill over the sides while wet
Or do I cure, and while it’s still sticky, do this?
You only need to do the water trick if and only when your resin cured sticky
Thank you! How many minutes did you put it under?
The recommended time for the resin I used
But l have no machine what I do
Hello, can I use lighter to destroy bubbles on UV resin?
Yes or a heat gun
Does it need to be transparent? The only transparent in my house is a glass so i used a white thin cup (used for salad in the philippines) hope it works😭
Yes, so the uv light can penetrate in all direction
would this work with non-uv epoxy resin?? like if a sticky piece just won't stop being sticky can i put it in a cup of water for a couple hours? or longer?
This trick is for uv resin only!
I don’t understand how only sometimes, and only in some places on the project that isn’t thicker than the rest, can still be sticky. Does anyone know what is happening? You would think it would happen all over. But this only happens every once in a while. I don’t get it.
Thinner resin will need more time to cure
Is this after a first clear if it’s stick or FOR the first cure to prevent it? Thx.
If it’s sticky after the initial cure
Didn't work :( Why am I the only one in the comments who it didn't work for?
Same. I’m struggling too
What if you don’t have a uv lamp can I use a led lamp?
You can use led lamp
H2O? The O is for oxygen.
Doesn't work. Unless it's just the resin I use
what is tht pill u added?
It’s a resin pill
is the cup of water either hot or cold
I used straight out of the tap so…room temp?
How long the cure?
The recommended time for your resin
the water is cold ??
Straight from the faucet
@@AmyMade i will try it i hope it work
does it work on cheap resin?
Yea!
It diddnt work 😒
