Gear is made just too thin, I agree on having a failure part, but mine failed too easily. Mine also had many loose bolts that added to its demise. The lower gear is the same so I now have only one failure point. Thanks for watching. Nice to know others found options, good luck!
I just had the same issue purchased a new gear for $28 and end of issue since the gears are nylon they are made to fail first the aluminum was ok.
