this topic makes a lot of sense to me. especially the deep speaking voice seems to bring me in a lot of trouble. as a teacher i have very often a dry throat and after a while my voice feels tired and hoarse. I went to a speech therapist and asked him if something could be wrong with my speaking voice. he said to me that only my singing voice has some imbalances and pointed out that its more a breathing issue. I have to focus more on the "schlank singen" I guess. thank you for sharing your experiences , it means a lot to me
We had only one lesson in webcam but the kindness and the knowledge were big, your videos changed my sight on singing, sadly they are lonely to show true things, go on we all love you, we follow your path and there will be future pupils who will hear about all those wise advices and singing keys. Thanks for another great video, Mr. Trimble! Any old school tips on the opposite problem with too much phlegm and congestion? I have nasal polyps and it's really causing havoc with my singing and speaking voice. . I'm under the care of an ENT and they want to prescribe steroids which only helps temporarily and has side effects. I'm looking for a permanent, natural solution. Thanks in advance.
The Messa di Voce is a revealing exercise. You cannot do it properly if you’re not using your natural voice (if you’re manufacturing the timbre or singing out of your true class).

La tecnica deve essere tale che di dare l’impressione al pubblico che Lei ha una voce bellissima di natura ! Purtroppo nel canto lirico non c’è niente di naturale. L’impostazione della voce durante gli anni cambia , cambia anche la bellezza divina della voce, è un fatto. Quando abbiamo 15-18 anni cantiamo con una vocalità. Tra 18-22 anni con un’altra etc…. La bellezza “naturale” della voce dipende dal maestro chi va occuparsi della programmazione della sua voce giovane . Parlando della messa della voce, se la tecnica è quella adatta alla natura della giovane voce con gli anni l’ultima diventa ancora più bella e ancora più bella ricca di armonici e squillante. Mi ricordo ancora che degli anni 1960 La Riccardi che all’epoca aveva più di 80 anni cantava e rideva con una vocalità squillante davvero impressionante e di colore giovanile. Lei può avere una voce Meravigliosa di natura , se la sua tecnica non è adatta alla sua natura in breve tempo Lei rischia di perdere la sua voce e la sua bellezza per sempre. Beniamino Gigli, Lauri - Volpi, Caruso, Fleta , Merli etc… sono la prova a quello che sto dicendo . il vecchio PS La tecnica fa dei miracoli basta che il maestro sa cosa fa e l’allievo ha il Talento vero . È così semplice. 👍
