  • This piece is Louis Couperin's Unmeasured Prelude in Fa Major and his Chaconne that goes along with it, performed by Torsten Fras. It is recorded on a French double manual harpsichord after Vaudry (1681) by Ronald Haas (1975) from the private collection of Dr. Babak Abai.
A thank you to Dr. Anna Kislitsyna for being my teacher for these works!

Nice job, Torsten! I remember moving that harpsichord with the dealer that sold it a few years ago, back when I was 12!

I moved this harpsichord a few years ago, back when it was in Stanford California. It is supposedly the first 17th century French style harpsichord made on the west coast, more specifically California, by Ronald Haas. It was used by Leonhardt for a masterclass in Berkeley many moons ago.
