Whoa - looks like you really put a challenge in front of you on this one! Those are long days...but the gorgeous brook trout are worth the delays, obviously. Glad to see you back in the forest and making videos; we love your quiet enthusiasm and calm demeanour through what was certainly not an easy trip! Hope to see more from you soon 🙏
I just spent 6 days in Killarney with 3 packs and 2 dogs. It was visually spectacular and physical torture! All 12 portages 3 times except the one I triple packed which was worse! When I work that hard my brain shuts right off and I can't think about a single thing! I brought a whole bag of fishing gear and didn't have time to fish 😂😭
its been awhile,i thought you moved on to different horizons, another great video,as always wonderful photography composition and editing.take care from oklahoma.
@@AleconAdventures Hi Alec, bit of a silly question, but had a gear question. I've been looking for a pair of sunglasses like you had on giving full coverage, have some issues of my own, and they look like a good option. And really curious about your tarp and "bivi" tent set up. Anything you could share would be helpful.
There are plenty of crazy long portages scattered throughout the park. My longest on this trip was just under 5km, NE of the one you did. Thanks for watching!

It was definitely a challenge and the brookies made it all worth it! Thanks more to come.
Glad you were able to squeeze in some paddling on your hiking trip 😉.... Nice fishing as always Alec!
Haha, yeah I do a lot of both!
Nice trout, enjoyed. Thanks
Thanks for watching!

I know that feeling, sounds pretty brutal.🤣 Killarney has some tough rocky portages too.
Good trip. Tough portage route. More fishing less carry.
I know, those portages were brutal but it was worth it!

Hey John, youtube got put aside for awhile but I plan to continue making videos for this channel. Thanks for your support!
That looked like a real cool adventure. Really love your laid back style.
Thanks for the feedback, appreciate you watching!

Thanks for the video! Hope you got out plenty this season!
I got out plenty this summer, it was pretty good. Happy to be back and sharing adventures again.
Some nice specks there .
Thanks bud!
Awesome video..lots of beautiful brookies being caught! Just wondering what kind of tent you are using? Looks pretty sweet
I was using a OneTigris mesh inner tent tied to a ridgeline with an Aquaquest tarp over top. It's a great setup with lots of ventilation.
@@AleconAdventures What size is your tarp, 13 x 10 or 15 x 15? Thanks bro
What 5k portage did you do? I've done the Opeongo 5k, but no others in the park that long - although I've heard they exist!

What type and how much does that canoe weigh? Cheers!
Souris River Tranquility in Kevlar, 33lbs
Geez There are shorter portage routes!
Yes there definitely are but I want to paddle all the routes in Algonquin. Long portages often lead to good trout fishing.
