Thanks! I just got flashed by a speed camera yesterday at 23:45 in a 20mph zone in London. Times like this I feel like car ownership is demonised in London and the UK… soul destroying. Streets were empty and quiet. I have no defence and admit my fault… just driving 20mph after 11pm on empty roads….. feels wrong
Damn sorry to hear this… it’s a money printing exercise if you ask me. I see many drivers hand holding their mobile phones, I see tradesmen eating burgers and fries while driving their vans… safe driving is a combination of many factors. All for safer neighbourhoods… that’s why imho it should be a 20mph during certain hours and relaxed to the usual 30mph limit after hours. This isn’t what this channel is about so will shut myself up! In my speeding ticket research I found out it’s perfectly legal to be given a speeding ticket for 1mph over the stated speed limit zone!

Long haul continuation of producing quality material must be very difficult when using only one car, although one UA-camr i have in mind, gets by with only a couple of cars, using at least 11 different UA-cam channels, with close on 9,000 uploaded videos over a 10 year period!! ..lol Zero quality, zero honesty, but with a good helping of chicanery and jiggery pokery!! .. Absolutely resonates, car ownership is like a relationship, there is a honeymoon period, then day to day living starts. I've just started a Toyota GR86 relationship, so we'll see how that goes. Totally understand where you are at... I've owned many Cars from M3's to M5's as well as a cayman and 997. Bought my GT4 2 years ago and I know exactly where you are... I am 100% content with the GT4 and will enjoy it... it's a good feeling not wanting another car, well except possibly a RS.
Max is partly responsible for the fact that I absolutely wanted a 987.2 and made the waiting time bearable with his content until this wish finally came true. Many thanks and all the best for him.

This car is a link to such a broad of positive emotion. I sold mine 9 monthes ago but still got it in my blood. For the gt4 as a driver you feel that you owe something very special it s hard to be sure you hit the right decision.
Thanks Max for all of your content, always enjoyable and informative. I have owned my 987.1 Cayman S for just over three years now. Although I understand what you mean about the first year’s ownership being a high, I still feel privileged to own such a capable sports car, which is also very practical. My original dream was to own a 996 911, but I don’t have any regrets that I own a Cayman S. My long term goal is to fully “restore” it to original spec, do a suspension refresh, and fit the PCCM+. So far I have rejuvenated the leather seats, replaced the AC switches and removed scratches from the interior plastics. Apart from carrying out regular maintenance including brake discs and pads, I have replaced my door and dash speakers, and a front spring. I have also clay barred the paintwork and intend to get the wheels refurbished as they have a little curb rash from the previous owner(s). Most of all I just enjoy driving my Cayman, and attending PCGB and other car events. Enjoying life and cars to the MAX!
Max, I've enjoyed watching your videos over the past few years. They've all been very honest and passionate videos about Caymans and I have found the content good to watch. I too am a 981 GT4 (Club Sport spec) owner and I'll never sell it. It's a great car and especially at the price point there is little out there to compare with one. Ordered a Boxster 4.0 GTS 18 months ago as had so much fun in on a b road, due to take delivery next month and probabaly more excited than when I got the 992 targa as more fun and driver enjoyment. I was inspired by you to buy my 981 GT4. I withdrew my 718 GT4 allocation and got my current one. It is also blue, though not exactly your blue. I really enjoyed your videos in the past few years - definitely a motivator to me buying my first Cayman and then switching to a Boxster (which I still own). I love it to bits, will have it till I die, and could not produce any content that would meaningfully add to the huge volume of Cayman content online. Max, it's all part of the journey. I was hoping you would still put out some content with mods. These GT cars love mods. However, I understand you don't want to put any more money into the car. It's normal that the chase is part of the fun of car ownership. There are not many places to go with GT4 ownership besides mods, track or canyon carving and i guess you captured that enough in terms of this channel. The 981 is the more raw car than 718, so upgrading is a bit futile. 718 GT4RS is special but very expensive and PDK only... I do hope another car captures your attention in the future and that you bring new content, hopefully again. If not, thanks for the content over the years. I've been with you a long while. 👏 👏 👏

Certainly hoping you do what makes you happy in regards to releasing videos. Will say that I found your channel after purchasing an awesome Platinum Silver Metallic 2014 981 Base Cayman in 2021 and have enjoyed your content. I lost that Cayman in a totaled accident in August. Was down in a funk about it, and not sure if I even wanted to get another. You released a video shortly after (27 August) with a very timely subject. Last week I picked up my next 2014 Base Cayman (pictured in the header of this page). Thanks for the work and video you've done on the channel. 👍

Thanks Max for inspiring me to take up Cayman 987.2 ownership. I have since tried to upgrade to a 981 S but couldn’t justify the cost and performance difference with my base Cayman. The difference is marginal so I decided to invest my money in S&P 500 than paying car finance and keep my base .2 Cayman. The sun goes down, heroes eventually die, horoscopes often lie, but don’t ask why? Nothing is for certain, Nothing last forever. (OutKast)

Max thanks for all your videos and you are one of the inspirations for me getting my first Porsche, a 987.1 Cayman 2.7ltr in speed yellow with yellow interior package one week ago in Auckland, New Zealand. Cayman's are pretty rare here so I had to search for nearly 6 months to find what I wanted. I stayed away from the Cayman S due to just not needing the extra power and so not worth taking risk on that engine (blame Joe Talks Cars channel for that). I loved your interview with Pinky Lai and I really think that the 987 shape will go down as one of Porsche's all time classics, I much prefer it to 981/982. I get the making videos faff, but my passion for cars and bikes never ends. I'll continue to buy, modify, race, drive and whatever else with cars until I'm in a box. Whether I always share it on UA-cam or not is another matter, but I guess we will see. I'd have very much liked you to review my own Cayman project when it is finished, maybe we can arrange that, maybe not, but either way, good luck with whatever you do with your time

Thanks Max for inspiring me to take up Cayman 987.2 ownership. I have since tried to upgrade to a 981 S but couldn’t justify the cost and performance difference with my base Cayman. The difference is marginal so I decided to invest my money in S&P 500 than paying car finance and keep my base .2 Cayman.

I’m keeping my Cayman for some great road trips in comfort, but my true love is kit cars as they are a truly unique driving experience, I did have an Ultima GTR but have returned to a Caterham for the right road right weather day drives and track days

Max thanks for all your videos and you are one of the inspirations for me getting my first Porsche, a 987.1 Cayman 2.7ltr in speed yellow with yellow interior package one week ago in Auckland, New Zealand. Cayman's are pretty rare here so I had to search for nearly 6 months to find what I wanted. I stayed away from the Cayman S due to just not needing the extra power and so not worth taking risk on that engine (blame Joe Talks Cars channel for that). I loved your interview with Pinky Lai and I really think that the 987 shape will go down as one of Porsche's all time classics, I much prefer it to 981/982. All the best mate and I'll follow your advice, getting out there and enjoying my Cayman (& life) to the Max! cheers

I get the making videos faff, but my passion for cars and bikes never ends. I'll continue to buy, modify, race, drive and whatever else with cars until I'm in a box. Whether I always share it on UA-cam or not is another matter, but I guess we will see. I'd have very much liked you to review my own Cayman project when it is finished, maybe we can arrange that, maybe not, but either way, good luck with whatever you do with your time
Thanks for your comment. First one I am replying to on this video! It’s been super touching reading all the comments on this video. This video really made everyone get engaged in the comments thread. My main reason to “stop” the channel is that I no longer have content from my perspective to bring. I also wasn’t getting much traction from trying to feature other people and their Cayman. If you’re game I’d love to do something whenever your project is finished👍🏼 Good luck with it and it’s something for me to look forward to

You just need to get out and drive some other cars … lots of interesting cars out there that would equally be of interest to cayman owners and make good content. … like my M2 😜
