@MENACE YT When did I disagree. The waiting period is sure too long, and some important features they didn't include. If someone needs a 7 seater to get delivered very fast, they should choose lower variants or go for any other car. But if someone can wait, there's no rival to 700 honestly. Also ax5 misses out on cameras and stuffs, those are upsetting.
They’re both champions.. personally I’ve driven both .. one sentence review would be that Safari is a beast whereas XUV 700 is a layman’s car .. any and everyone can drive an XUV but Safari is pure love ❤️
What Tata needs right now to compete with XUV 700: Complete LED headlamps set up with good throw. Diesel engine must be re-tuned engine must churns out more power similar to Mahindra's. A powerful petrol engine(turbo must). A good infotainment system. It's infotainment is no where near of Mahindra's. Improved after sales service. I think these are the primary areas where Tata can concentrate. Safari is a very very good product but right now XUV 700 is the benchmark. Even XUV 700 target Fortuner(despite half of the price) market by it's extremely powerful fast engines...
This segment does not lack for new metal and there's always going to be something newer, better and faster to drive. That said, we wouldn't write off the Safari that easily
Lol, the third row is spacious in the Safari because of the fact that third row space was prioritized over boot space giving the Safari a paltry 73 litres of bootspace with third row up. In case of the XUV 7OO, they tried to balance both the third row space as well as boot space thus, XUV 7OO gets 220 litres even with the third row up. And let's be honest, only kids or shorter adults (5ft5in) would be comfortable sitting in either mid-size SUV's rear. Coming to robustness or solidity, they're both monocoque and do not give the feeling of solidity of BOF cars like the Fortuner, Endeavour, Crysta, etc. The feeling of robustness or solidity is actually closely matched by both cars and let's appreciate that. However, only the XUV 7OO gets 5 star NCAP rating whereas Tata (due to the FIAT engine protrusion issue) still hasn't sent their Harrier or Safari for voluntary testing unlike Mahindra.
@@callingbell-ix5se Check TeamBHP. It's too long to elaborate here. In short, it's basically to do with the way the fuel filter is placed on the FIAT 2.0L Multijet engine. In RHD countries, the issue is mitigated and cars like the Jeep Compass get good safety ratings but in LHD countries like ours, it could potentially affect the safety ratings so that's about the gist of it. It's too long though. Would suggest checking TeamBHP and reading about the issue in detail.
Things Tata should change: 1. Infotainment system 2. Do a Less bulky dashboard layout and Sleek , posh design steering wheel 3. Better interior colour theme
XUV 700 for Sure, no brainer. Took test drive of both on same day and after XUV700 when I drove Safari, I was really surprised how can Land Rover based vehicle can be so uneasy to drive, it was like driving a mini truck. Handling of XUV700 was like warm knife on butter. Turning radius and control was much better along with View and command of XUV700. Power & features is no comparison, XUV is way ahead. And finally price I am getting much much more in XUV for much much less price, why would I or anyone go for Safari? Immediately booked after the test drive. Although it will vary across dealers, But Test drive experience of Mahindra was also good, by afternoon till evening I got test drive of both Manual and Automatic, Tata took 4 days in providing test drive.
Your explanation , specially technical one , is relly good. you have done a good comparison. Can you pls explain why TATA uses FCA derived ENGINE and not the same as Mahindra , which originally is from AVL of Austria ,and it uses the derivative of same engines. ( Tata might have to pay extra to FCA for its engines ) . What about reliability of the AVL engines. Surely , TATA has to do some catching up in areas like STEARING lighting-up , INFOTAINMENT system upgrade to 10/12 inch , all digital SPEEDOMETER with better graphics , FULL CONNECTED car tech features ( which it misses on ) , improvement in SUSPENSION SYSTEM, Memory POWER seats , A PETROL VARIENT , ALL WHEEL DRIVE VARIENT , 360 camera .......etc
I own the safari xza+. I get a guaranteed mileage of 15-16km/l on the highways.. Can the xuv700 prove this figures??? This part hasn't been talked about, and with the rising fuel prices, it should also be considered...
Very detailed comparison, EVO, thanks. You have touched upon most of the aspects that one considers when wearing the buyer's hat. In fact, you have answered most of the reader / viewer queries in the shoot itself. 1. All those ADAS features are practically useless in Indian road conditions. I am used to looking out for bovines more than humans on the roads (and those incluse NHs) in MP. They don't give a damn even if nudged with an ARIA... ADAS, as you rightly pointed out, will make you go bonkers in no time. SO, why even pay and get a feature that's never going to be used (Or kept in switch OFF position) ? 2. Sunroof. It is such a craze that OEMs have been forced to provide them on their cars ! Who needs a sunroof ? It's just the initial novelty with kids / teens sticking out their heads / torsos and risking their lives ! How many times have owners actually used it ? Has one considered the aspects of break-ins / leaks during heavy monsoons / operational issues of use and non - use ? Has anyone factored in the dusty conditions on our roads ? Coming to think of it.... The Safari provides for both .. A panoramic sun roof AND an air purifier ! What I like is the airiness it provides with the inner cover slid back..3. The Safari is a true 7 seater .. The very sitting position of the anchor says it all.. Much the same difference between the XUV 500 and the TATA Aria / Hexa. 4. Steering feedback. I must say, that is a feature by design and not a problem or an after thought. A true SUV is a driver's machine and a light electronic (EPS) takes the very adventure angle out of it.... feels like a Maruti hatch instead. 5. Looks. Although this is subjective and a personal choice, there's no doubt the Safari is the better looker, as has been certified by the anchor himself. (Once the novelty wears off....the Safari is going to still turn heads). Having seen both the exact colours of cars used in this video, my choice is still the Safari. The design is definately more butch, more SUV, the XUV is more of an MUV with SUV overtures. The worst part of the XUV is the front, the cliff like drop from the bonnet downwards is apparent and the big DRLs with no specific shape look awkward, if not clumsy or aftermarket. 6. Electronics. In our conditions, the lesser, the better. The Safari's dash has an analogue speedo and basic information. In the real world, who needs more information ? TPI, 360 cam are all unnecessary bells and whistles, as are the pop out door handles. Novelty, yes, add on to feature / brochure list, yes. How many and how long will they be used ... Anyone's guess. 7. Cost of ownership. This is where one additional chapter should have been added. No information on real world fuel averages, oil change intervals, standard maintenance costs, costs of commonly used parts / spares, etc. The good part is that both are Indian / desi OEMs and our folks are pretty much used to their prices and availability. A word from th eanchor on the effective ground clearnaces and the softness / stiffness of the suspension would give a better idea of how much abuse they can withstand, although both are soft roaders. The AWD XUV 700 needs to be tested off road to establish its worth as a 4WD. One last point. TATA provides Bridestone Ecopia tyres on the Safari, whereas XUV provides MRF Wanderers. A little googling will tell the difference in cost, where M&M makes up for in its "value quitoent" maybe ?
I just want an AX7 without ADAS ! It will be the best VFM variant in the segment! And do you have any idea how the standard audio system sounds? Then non-Sony one.
The standard audio output in 700 sounds quite good. More precisely it's at par with the Harriet's output (despite its jbl audio) I guess you'll have to listen back to back a couple of times to figure the exact difference
Looks wise it's no contest, Safari is and looks way more macho and bigger than Xuv700. Awd on Xuv700 is way too costly as it's reserved for it's top trim, nevertheless it's atleast there. For family usage and long trips, Safari's spacious cabin, higher seating position, more cushiony seats and better ride quality does it for it. Xuv700 is good vfm choice for driver's delight although Safari is no slouch either but Xuv nudges slightly ahead. AWD at top trims makes Xuv700 slightly more capable but it's costly and it's no 4x4 (Get the Thar for that purpose). Adas sometimes works sometimes doesn't, so you decide it's effectiveness. Infotainment is more responsive & better on Xuv700 but the music system is better on Safari. *Conclusion:* If looks, space, comfort and music system is more important for you, get the Safari. It's an all rounder and would also suffice driving enthusiasts. If you want a purely driver's delight with a ton of features, get the Xuv700 as it's vfm at lower trims too and more suited for city usage. Cheers.
Even it doesnt get a cruise control 🙂nor even a arm rest Irony features only in top model Like seriously back camera and armrest is basic one 😂 not luxury man
Hey I wanna buy xuv700 just confused between Ax7 vsAx5 Petrol vs diesel Automatic vs manual I can tell you my running and requirements Help me out where can I contact you and tell you about it
Most buyers won't be be spending the premium for the 4x4 variant of a Safari. And that considered, the 4x2 Safari isn't lacking in any way for the regular buyer who will seldom be driving on an off-road trail
Personally I feel the 700 looks a bit too much like the 500, and for me that isn’t a good thing coz I’m paying a lot more money on the 700, Safari wins the styling round for me.
You missed a big point. The left leg on the driver seat is not at all comfortable while sitting or driving on safari. Its really uncomfortable due to that. If that and the infotainment system is upgraded its a thumbsup
Don't expect anything exceptional from Tamo in combustion engine department or you'll be disappointed. They're pushing EVs, especially with the 2 billion $ funding they raised. In EVs, M&M is far behind Tamo today.
Hi, could you please prepare a video on suspension of XUV700 There have been lot of not so good news about the suspension making noise Is it that bad that prospective buying should consider its decision of buying Mahindra XUV700?
What I've noticed is that while XUV700 feels better for the driver with a better looking dashboard, more engine options, more refined engine, and is equipped with more electronics, Safari is better for the passengers with more comfortable third row, theatre seating, etc. And while XUV700 is available in a 7 and 5 seater configuration, Safari has 6 and 7 seater option and you can buy a harrier if you require a 5 seater. As for the looks, Safari is the clear winner for me. It is more macho looking and its front, rear and side profile look very attractive. XUV700's side profile is only what looks good but its taillights, headlights and grill looks over designed. Hence I bought the Safari. And since I drive my car by myself, its not a disappointment at all
Performance, headlights, features (except ventilated seats) all are better in Xuv700 Ride and build quality is similar in both Looks, its too confusing Price, we all know safari is a bit overpriced. Plus mahindra is atleast offering AWD So for me its XUV700.

When did I disagree.
Safari looks stunning ,badass🔥🔥🔥🔥
🔥
Cut to today...what would u recommend shirish? Xuv which has a long waiting period or the safari which might get an update soon!
🔥
😇⚡
One is shiva and the other is shakti both are strong 💪 Bro ❤️ se
At 2:33 safari looks absolutely gorgeous ❣️ 😍. But xuv 700 is in another level all together due to its brilliant packaging ❣️😍😘
They’re both champions.. personally I’ve driven both .. one sentence review would be that Safari is a beast whereas XUV 700 is a layman’s car .. any and everyone can drive an XUV but Safari is pure love ❤️
Very good comparison!! Very well presented....
Safari any day ❤️🔥
What Tata needs right now to compete with XUV 700:
Complete LED headlamps set up with good throw.
XUV700 still looks ugly. Safari kills it with its looks only.
@@pramathewyayawar7857 but feature in safari🤮🤮🤮🤮and xuv 700💪💪💪💪

Such a satisfying detailed video ❤️
Cant help but notice that he is wearing the iconic Omega speedmaster moonwatch with nato straps. Good on you mate !!!
I would pick Safari any day.
Was waiting for this video. Thank you. I Like the bottom line, that you mentioned. We are really proud of our Indian companies.
Tata and mahindra are really making their mark...love to see much more great project from them in the future...
Can someone please tell me the location of shooting? The road? Looks absolutely stunning at 19:44
Exterior Safari
Interior Xuv700
It is neck to neck .
How do I get this full sleeve T shirt
The conclusion was the best part of promoting indian engineers and safety. Both are beast and best. Luv this review
Mahindra logo looks like butterfly!!
Things Tata should change:
1. Infotainment system
2. Do a Less bulky dashboard layout and
Sleek , posh design steering wheel
Waiting period?
Sir, which of these cars has a higher seating position?
I own the safari xza+.
I get a guaranteed mileage of 15-16km/l on the highways..
Can the xuv700 prove this figures???
This part hasn't been talked about, and with the rising fuel prices, it should also be considered...
sir automatic or manual?
@@flyingbird5924 automatic
I hv manual safari getting 18 kmpl
The automatic diesel xuv700 delivered 17.6kmpl on highway in zap mode cruising at 90 to 105KMPH mostly near to 100
Very detailed comparison, EVO, thanks.
The comment section is not for writing the essays. 😅
As you said it in last sentence M&M & TATA are making us feel so proud of indian manufacturers, both the products can compete at global level
I just want an AX7 without ADAS ! It will be the best VFM variant in the segment!
And do you have any idea how the standard audio system sounds? Then non-Sony one.
The standard audio output in 700 sounds quite good. More precisely it's at par with the Harriet's output (despite its jbl audio)
I guess you'll have to listen back to back a couple of times to figure the exact difference
Ax7 without ADAS is coming which will called AX7 Smart
@@vanditjain6742 not only adas but other features are cut down as well
Only heard the sony which is excellent
Ax7 smart variant is there workout adas
My love Tata Harrier Dark Edition 😊
looks and practicality safari, i saw the xuv 700 standing right beside a safari and i could see that safari was far far far better looking
Looks are subjective 🤷♂️
*Conclusion:*
If looks, space, comfort and music system is more important for you, get the Safari. It's an all rounder and would also suffice driving enthusiasts.
If you want a purely driver's delight with a ton of features, get the Xuv700 as it's vfm at lower trims too and more suited for city usage.
Cheers.
Ax5 should have had auto ovrms reverse cam and 60:40 split for 5 seater with rear armrests
Very true only if you want to buy xuv 700 l pack then only i think its better
Instead idiots gave it a Skyroof.
Even it doesnt get a cruise control 🙂nor even a arm rest
Irony features only in top model
Like seriously back camera and armrest is basic one 😂 not luxury man
Hey I wanna buy xuv700 just confused between
Ax7 vsAx5
Petrol vs diesel
Automatic vs manual
I can tell you my running and requirements
Help me out where can I contact you and tell you about it
Excellent video,
And you are right that TATA and Mahindra have shown how good Indians can make the cars
Definitely! Indian engineering for the win 💪
Harrier and safari 😍😍my dream car over xuv700, fortuner
Heart says Safari/XUV700,
Mind says Innova Crysta😉😉😉
😂
Finally my kind of person found 😂
Loved the line "let's dive into what people watch this channel for."
Safari 4ever! 🥰🥰
They should have cut the adas in ax7 smart and give esp, traction control, hill descent and hill start control that would have been lovely.
Most buyers won't be be spending the premium for the 4x4 variant of a Safari. And that considered, the 4x2 Safari isn't lacking in any way for the regular buyer who will seldom be driving on an off-road trail
@@evoIndia i said about xuv 700 not safari.
XUV700 any day
Personally I feel the 700 looks a bit too much like the 500, and for me that isn’t a good thing coz I’m paying a lot more money on the 700, Safari wins the styling round for me.
But safari looks totally like harrier😂😂

The best suv s with front wheel drive. Wow awesome ❤️
PERFECT COMPARISON VIDEO⚡️
You missed a big point. The left leg on the driver seat is not at all comfortable while sitting or driving on safari. Its really uncomfortable due to that. If that and the infotainment system is upgraded its a thumbsup
Just imagine safari getting a 4 wheel drive system 🔥
A proper 4wd system like fortuner, low ratio gearbox and MLD
If tata provides these features than I would go for tata safari only
Don't expect anything exceptional from Tamo in combustion engine department or you'll be disappointed. They're pushing EVs, especially with the 2 billion $ funding they raised. In EVs, M&M is far behind Tamo today.
Hi, could you please prepare a video on suspension of XUV700
There have been lot of not so good news about the suspension making noise
Is it that bad that prospective buying should consider its decision of buying Mahindra XUV700?
And since I drive my car by myself, its not a disappointment at all
Proud owner of the safari dark edition. In love with the car I just gaze at it in my parking
Hi sir!
What is Torque steer?
Mind is towards XUV but Heart says Safari...
If there was a car with Tata's body & mahindra's engine..
That would have made a revolution..
Waiting for you sir😊😊
Excellent comparo guys.
Can one retrofit an after market touch screen in the persona edition of the Safari?
I've seen it being done for base variants, not for top models.
🤭
Crazy review
I would pick the Tahindra XUVARI
😆
😂😂😂😂
XUV took the game a notch above 👍
True
Thank you for this video. I am still confused with both of this SUV’s when it comes to buying .
Performance, headlights, features (except ventilated seats) all are better in Xuv700
Ride and build quality is similar in both
Looks, its too confusing
Price, we all know safari is a bit overpriced.
Plus mahindra is atleast offering AWD
So for me its XUV700.
But thats only for 24+lacs that too in L pack otherwise buying xuv is pointless
