Probably one of George Martin’s greatest productions as well as one of the best Beatles songs. The man was splicing and pasting before the technology was even available! Splicing music or speech with 1/4 Inch tape, a White Chinagraph, and a razor blade is not all that difficult if you are organized and without distractions. You get into a sort of zone where all you can think about is the editing task at hand. Bits of tape held onto the tape machine (Usually a Tandberg machine for spoken word, or maybe an Otari MTR10 or a Studer A80 for music as they could hold NAB spools) with words like "Breath" or "Um", "Er" or stuff like "last 4 bars of take 1" or "Alternate ending" in White Chinagraph pencil were valuable tools to get it just right. I learned how to edit with tape but tape is sooooo expensive these days, that I don't bother with it.. and after re-learning on digital, I figure that it's made editing that much easier so any untrained kid can do it.

Trees would turn into cartoons, you'd feel yourself melt through walls, everything was alive etc. I did a lot of it & loved it!

I can attest that windowpane was still readily available for dissolving on (someone who isn't you) tongues in 2004, as thats the last time I had the quixotic pleasure of seeing it in person(PA, USA). But being its just a vehicle, im sure that as we speak some trays of it are congealing somewhere in a town near you. Cheeahs

I have some great ADHD and rarely finish songs. I have listened to every single Beatles song but whenever this one came on I’d listen to about half of it. Not until a few weeks ago, I was caught off guard by the second part. That has to be one of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve ever heard and I had no idea it was there.

Can you do a 10 Interesting Facts about the Carnival of Light. As much as I would love to hear the song, I feel it is best left unheard. Think about it, the majority of the song's intrigue is because it is unheard; if it is heard, it loses that. 1) The master reel should be pressed up. 2) Fitted w/ a sleeve of beautiful artwork; befitting the time it was created. 3) And exhibited in a museum, behind impenetrable glass, in perpetuity. *This would be a lovely marriage between art & music; a marriage The Beatles have long adored *The song is an experimental song *The presentation would be experimental: "The unheard song."; like the bottle of wine not meant to drink.
It’s a crap song the remaining Beatles are embarrassed about. From all accounts it’s disjointed and leads no where. Yes, it’s Paul’s attempt to get into avant garde prior to John. I just feel it’s a huge build up to nothing. Would I love to hear it? Yes! But based off of everything I’ve read it’s not very worth while. Including said testimony from other Beatles. I agree it’s best left unheard. You do know at some point it will be released. I find it impressive that it hasn’t been released in some form by a bootlegger or someone with access to the master tapes. What more interesting to me is the bootlegs of the songs the Beatles gave away. Like A world without love, and early songs they gave away.

Maybe. But windowpane came into usage much later than '68. At least where I lived in Philadelphia.
By the 90's that was reduced to a printed pattern ;rather the the original gel type.

In terms of the 15 years I’ve enjoyed being a Beatles hyper-demi-mega-fan of The Beatles, there have only been 3 songs of there’s that I have never overplayed no matter how hard I’ve tried:
1. Happiness is a Warm Gun
2. I Am The Walrus

Great video. One of my all time favorite Beatles songs. I loved your parody. I also enjoy the feeling of a warm gun in my hand. I've accidentally touched the barrel of my AR15 a couple of times after shooting a couple of 30 round mags. Not much happiness in those moments. I don't advise it. Anyhoo, you continue to make some of the most entertaining Beatles content on the youtube. Rock on.

As much as I would love to hear the song, I feel it is best left unheard. Think about it, the majority of the song's intrigue is because it is unheard; if it is heard, it loses that.
1) The master reel should be pressed up.
2) Fitted w/ a sleeve of beautiful artwork; befitting the time it was created.
3) And exhibited in a museum, behind impenetrable glass, in perpetuity.
*This would be a lovely marriage between art & music; a marriage The Beatles have long adored

It’s a crap song the remaining Beatles are embarrassed about. From all accounts it’s disjointed and leads no where. Yes, it’s Paul’s attempt to get into avant garde prior to John. I just feel it’s a huge build up to nothing. Would I love to hear it? Yes! But based off of everything I’ve read it’s not very worth while. Including said testimony from other Beatles. I agree it’s best left unheard. You do know at some point it will be released. I find it impressive that it hasn’t been released in some form by a bootlegger or someone with access to the master tapes. What more interesting to me is the bootlegs of the songs the Beatles gave away. Like A world without love, and early songs they gave away.
