She's not a pup who misses much
Do do do do do do, woof woof
She's well-acquainted with the touch of the velvet leash
Like a kitten on a window pane
The man in the crowd with the multicolored treats
    at the old dog park
Lying with his eyes while his hands are busy
    given scrithes
A soap impression of his chow which he pet
And discovered at the National pound
I need a scritch cause I'm going down
Down to the pit bulls I left uptown
I need a scritch 'cause I'm going down
    Labrador Retriever jumped the pup
    Labrador Retriever jumped the pup
    Labrador Retriever jumped the pup

Happiness is a warm pup (boop boop snoot snoot)
Happiness is a warm pup, momma (boop boop snoot snoot)
When I hold you in my paws (ooh, oh, yeah)
And I feel your scritchers on my tummy (ooh, oh, yeah)

Hearing how many takes it took reminds me of an interview George gave in the 70s when he was asked what made the Beatles so good. He replied "We worked harder than anyone else". Splicing music or speech with 1/4 Inch tape, a White Chinagraph, and a razor blade is not all that difficult if you are organized and without distractions. You get into a sort of zone where all you can think about is the editing task at hand. Bits of tape held onto the tape machine (Usually a Tandberg machine for spoken word, or maybe an Otari MTR10 or a Studer A80 for music as they could hold NAB spools) with words like "Breath" or "Um", "Er" or stuff like "last 4 bars of take 1" or "Alternate ending" in White Chinagraph pencil were valuable tools to get it just right. I learned how to edit with tape but tape is sooooo expensive these days, that I don't bother with it.. and after re-learning on digital, I figure that it's made editing that much easier so any untrained kid can do it.

Interesting facts, for sure. You missed one: Window pane, or windowpane, was a street name for acid in the 60s and 70s.

    • @hippydippy
      @hippydippy 4 роки тому +14

@Johnny Morphine No... It was liquid LSD formed into a thin gel, cured, then cut into tiny pieces. Here we had 4 way amber & brown windowpane. You could see through it (hence the name.) If you were brave enough & put one in your eye, it would dissolve in less than 2 minutes & you would sky rocket off to Mars instantly. It was the good shit. Trees would turn into cartoons, you'd feel yourself melt through walls, everything was alive etc. I did a lot of it & loved it!

    • @TupDigital
      @TupDigital 4 роки тому

What hippy said- they are translucent gel tabs, a form of conveyance for Uncle Cid. I can attest that windowpane was still readily available for dissolving on (someone who isn't you) tongues in 2004, as thats the last time I had the quixotic pleasure of seeing it in person(PA, USA). But being its just a vehicle, im sure that as we speak some trays of it are congealing somewhere in a town near you. Cheeahs

So much talent cannot be tied down so it was only a matter time for a breakup. I only wish they had found time to get back for on more tune together.

  • @TD-yk8bf

Glad to see you highlighting the genius of John. His putting together of snippets from articles though, is not the implied plagiarism you hint at. Rather than the snippets, it's how they were put together into a potent and highly relevant song. It was John's innate genius. It's why John WAS the Beatles and the sole reason for their magnitude and impact upon the world.

"Please Please Me" by talking about the unique way John and Paul often sang together in harmony rather than on the same key. Very huge aspect of their appeal to me.

    Sir l love your videos
As an alcoholic and drug addict in recovery and a poet those days still come up
But like you said there are dark sides to the creative
My hat goes off to you
You have a wonderful approach to the Beatles in that you enhance the songs
Unlike others who tear down the famous
    So thank you
There is something l would love to see is a video on my #2 band Pink Floyd
I know their debut album was recorded next studio over as the Beatles were recording Sgt Pepper
And George gave their photographer a kalidascop lens which wae used for their album Piper At The Gates of Dawn
That the Floyd even got to visit while they were working on l believe for the benefit of mr kite
    I am
I am sure you can tie in more about how these two groups were tied in thru Abby Road
    Blessing to you sir

In terms of the 15 years I’ve enjoyed being a Beatles hyper-demi-mega-fan of The Beatles, there have only been 3 songs of there’s that I have never overplayed no matter how hard I’ve tried:
    1. Happiness is a Warm Gun
    2. I Am The Walrus
    3. I’m Only Sleeping

Great video. One of my all time favorite Beatles songs. I loved your parody. I also enjoy the feeling of a warm gun in my hand. I've accidentally touched the barrel of my AR15 a couple of times after shooting a couple of 30 round mags. Not much happiness in those moments. I don't advise it. Anyhoo, you continue to make some of the most entertaining Beatles content on the youtube. Rock on.

Can you do a 10 Interesting Facts about the Carnival of Light.
As much as I would love to hear the song, I feel it is best left unheard. Think about it, the majority of the song's intrigue is because it is unheard; if it is heard, it loses that.
    1) The master reel should be pressed up.
    2) Fitted w/ a sleeve of beautiful artwork; befitting the time it was created.
    3) And exhibited in a museum, behind impenetrable glass, in perpetuity.
*This would be a lovely marriage between art & music; a marriage The Beatles have long adored
*The song is an experimental song
*The presentation would be experimental: "The unheard song."; like the bottle of wine not meant to drink.

It’s a crap song the remaining Beatles are embarrassed about. From all accounts it’s disjointed and leads no where. Yes, it’s Paul’s attempt to get into avant garde prior to John. I just feel it’s a huge build up to nothing. Would I love to hear it? Yes! But based off of everything I’ve read it’s not very worth while. Including said testimony from other Beatles. I agree it’s best left unheard. You do know at some point it will be released. I find it impressive that it hasn’t been released in some form by a bootlegger or someone with access to the master tapes. What more interesting to me is the bootlegs of the songs the Beatles gave away. Like A world without love, and early songs they gave away.
