"And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make." Wow, what a capstone line on an unparalleled music career.
John would criticize the medley saying it was "tossed together" and "junk". Personally, I love it. It may have started as a hodgepodge of unfinished songs, but IMHO, it ended up a masterpiece.
That's how great the Beatles were. John apparently considered it literal album filler... just something to put down so as to have enough songs to put out an album. And we consider it a masterpiece. That's how fucking good the Beatles were and are.
For me Her Majesty takes away from the magic or brilliance of the medley.
I know it's separate but it's tacked on and IMHO should have been left off.
Her Majesty was between Mean Mr. Mustard and Polythene Pam on the British Abbey Road. It fits there, making “The End” truly the end of the album. The original lineup is on the 50th Anniversary Edition.

Nice to know.
Thanks.
It's funny that as much as John embraced experimentation during the Revolver/Sgt. Pepper days he would dismiss the medley instead of listening to it as its own thing. Experimentation isn't just playing tape backwards.
My opinion on johns comments in the 70’s is to usually just ignore them. He was kinda bitter and upset and maybe lashing out a bit. Just around the time of his death, he was coming out of this and I believe that in the 80’s and 90’s he would have walked back many of these statements.
Definitely, although it's worth noting that as much of the criticisms he made in those days was about himself as it was directed at the others. Perhaps his self criticism was a way of expressing his regret at being complicit in the downfall of the Beatles, or strategically said to make it seem like he wasn't just doing a hit job? Hard to say...
Take heart look up, your life’s only begun. -unknown-
I’m closing in on 70 and I have done as you are doing. With acting, singing, playing and dancing. It all began with seeing the Beatles live in Southern California and hasn’t stopped yet. Through living out of my car to playing a tour in Europe crazy crazy life and times. And at my age I still play every weekend.
My word of advice, Don’t give up.
Thank you, Milton.
What makes this channel is your unbridled enthusiasm over the subjects. Being really inspired is the most inspirational force of them all, literally instilling the audience with spirit.
A genius side B, it felt like the last album
It was the last album! Let it be was shelved because it wasn't good enough said the band members..so they made Abbey road then released Let it be after it
Just love that, 'her majesty' aside, it finished literally on 'the end.'
With 'The Beatles' it's not just about the songs, but their evolution, their story- their story as a band is so amazing, it's right that it ended like a book
Played it for my 19yo abt 5 yrs ago. He just found it so inspiring, and above all, entertaining. So many ideas, musical and lyrical coming at you over that 20 min or so. Only an act with such a cultural presence could top off their own work with a bunch of "frivolous" songs, deceptive in their genius. Icing on their cake. I kind of get why it's the favorite of so many
Don’t forget the huge influence Fleetwood Mac’s Albatross had on Sun King
Oh yer deffo rip peter green
“You only give me your funny paper”- Paul McCartney, 1969
"I only give you my SITUUUUUUUUATION" -Pual McCartney, 1969
You only give me your toilet paper lockdown song. Soz I'm english 😄
“Do you want to hold a penis” - wise words from John Lennon
Nicely said funny paper who's lines r so rite what's funny is not knowing is it him or Johns voice2this very day Paul knows it rite!only Paul knows a lot of that whether it's him or John on many songs which is the whole idea of them keeping us guessing no?!..miss John n George that's real n no guessing about them2!
This was such a revolutionary album. I love how all of them contributed to it in their own way (despite the disbanding being near).
So glad you reached 100.000. Well deserved! Would you maybe do a 10 Facts about Pink Floyd btw?
PLEASE DO PINK FLOYD!!!!!!!
YESSS PLEASE DO PINK FLOYD
Seconded
Hell yeah, that'd be awesome
So Glad to See Him Here.
The End is probably the best song ever! I loved it when you told the Blackbird story.
Awesome video! I wish Lennon didn't hate on his own songs so much in his later years. Congrats on 100k
I can only imagine that if he saw the financial stability that they have had (his family) since his passing had he still been here he would have come around. Maybe not on performing them because that was always one of his fears whether that he didn't want to be an old man playing the same old tunes but just a general appreciation.
I feel like John knew he would never get anything like the Beatles again.
@@vinnyd2950 He was so conscious of what was going on in the sense that he knew that and he didn't want that. At least that's the way he came off and other interviews I try not to hate in my life but I hate the fact that he was murdered I will say it was the worst tragedy in rock and roll history just for the what if what would we have gotten I'm not selfish but I know I'm not alone in that feeling.
All I want is the truth
@@garp-cm7te Just gimme some truth
That medley is definitely one of the coolest/most ambitious ways to end one of the greatest albums of all time, the songs are just so good. Massive congrats on the 100k subs man, that’s awesome and here’s to 500k
CONGRATULATIONS....
AND CELEBRATIONS
Excellent to know a little bit about the person behind these videos I've spent so much time watching!! Truly inspiring!
Hooo....your mother’s beautiful!
I appreciate you taking your time to discuss the deepest most details of the Beatles. Stuff most of us would never, ever think about, you bring to life and make us think about them. It’s all fascinating and appreciated. No one does it the way you do it.
Hey mate well done on 100K

The medley is one the pinnacles in the history of western music in any genre. It rivals anything made by the classical masters. It deserves immortality.
Totally didn't expect your bio at the end. Nice touch. But moreover, your enthusiasm for The Beatles and your presentation makes it fun to watch your videos. I hope to see great things for you in all of your endeavors. You're obviously worthy of such. Cheers.
Honey, you don't need praise to know that you are a good person. You know it in your heart. You seem like you need to hear it from strangers. You don't. You can feel it within yourself.
You had me tearing up when you told us about your journey. I'm not exactly sure why. Maybe it's comforting to know that someone who looks like he has all his shit together, with his amazing videos and successful UA-cam channel, is really just like me, still struggle and trying to make something of himself on this platform and in this world. I had a rough night yesterday and this really helped me feel better, so thank you. I really mean that. And whatever your end goal is, just know that you and your team have done some AMAZING things with this channel already. Not saying you should get complacent, but just letting you know that what you do here is beautiful, it's art, and it's meaningful to me and at least 100,000 other individuals. So don't be too hard on yourself. I know I am guilty of that more than I should be. Also your music rocks, I added Cannonball Express to my "Let's go on a trip (Drugs not road)" playlist on Spotify. Right next to the great psychedelic songs of the Fab Four, Pink Floyd, and more ;)
Something about honesty that just cuts through everything...I teared up as well.
@@unboxedtravels Honesty and vulnerability... that's where connections are made.
Abbey Road was the last of the best. Many people were upset when the Beatles disbanded and went their separate ways. I was not. I was thirteen when I first heard them on their second album, Meet the Beatles in December, 1963. Because of their influence, I became a musician, playing studio gigs and on the road with many groups. What they accomplished in six years will never be equalled. A diversity of creative material unmatched and a legacy untouchable.
Congrats! I think John lied about the medley, it's too good to nod off. He's just being John.
John was all about the single track, so I think he was sincere in his opinion of not liking the medley. He viewed it as a patchwork quilt of bits and pieces. I believe John genuinely did not like side 2 of Abbey Road. Paul didn’t like John’s “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” on side 1, but George and Ringo loved it.
@@theonlyguiltymaninshawshan7909 Are you sure about Paul and "I Want You..."? Thats just a interpretation from Geoff Emerick, if I'm not wrong.
@@jugibur2117 I forgot where I read it, but it had to do with the song finishing suddenly (after that long build) and Paul with his head in his hands in reaction to the track.
It might be hearsay, I don’t know. I’ve never heard Paul himself comment on that track.
Agree re: "The End"--such a great song, including drum & guitar solos.
Thank you for your personal story. I wish you the best of luck!
Well deserved 100k. Well done!
Congrats on the 100k man! You deserve it!
I enjoy your channel and the bio was great to listen to. We've all put our dreams on hold - I hope yours come to fruition in the future.
Really dig your Beatles analysis, thanks for the personal brief intro into your life. Wish you all the best!
Youre only at 100k? I thought you had at least hit a mil by now, that's how good your videos are. Keep up the good work mate, you deserve 100 times as many subs as you have
Didn't know you could sing so well mate!! Loved your "rough McCartney" Helter Skelter rendition
100k !!! So happy for you.
Man, you had me tearing up there in the last quarter. Been subbed for I believe 3 years but not sure if that is accurate, time flies when you're having fun. Keep doing what you do, friend. Funny how a truly great band creates these bonds in the ether after all these years. Peace and love.

DO NOT give up on your dreams. you are a person who truly loves music and I thank you for your facts and your insights
Congratulations!
"you never give me your money.....you only give me your....", "...boy, you're gonna carry that weight...carry that weight ....." "she came in through the bathroom window!!!"....as a teenager (1980's) always wondered what the hell these lyrics meant! as a 48 yr old, 'You never give me yr money...' to me, is a song about a lover telling their lover that they never get any affection from them, they try so hard to make the relationship work but 'negotiations' always fall thru. "Carry that weight', whatever trials in life yr suffering with you're gonna have to deal with it, carry it on your shoulders....
I could go on and on.....sigh....
The first time I heard the guitar work in "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window" with headphones on... I cried. This medley just goes to show that the Beatles' genius was so great, even their unfinished junk is better than most other bands best stuff. Now every time I listen to She Came in Through the Bathroom Window, I focus on one of Paul's greatest basslines. This was clearly the Beatles' Greatest Albums
wow!!! H H congratulations,, you deserve it. Thanks for the Beatles info your amazing thanks again YOU ROCK :-)
John Lennon might have said some things about his songs as a Beatle but I believe it was whatever mood he was in. I believe he was very proud of all of his wonderful work
You're a nice soul. don't change anything, we human beings need more of this.
Stumbled upon your channel.
Big Beatles fan. My dad used to play Birthday for me on my birthday.
As a child i thought they made the song just for me.
Now, as a father, i play that song for my kids.
They love The Beatles as well.
Especially Eleanor Rigby!!
Keep on what you're doing!
I like how the individual song analysis is almost exactly the length of each song so you can listen as you watch.
One of the most epic moments in the history of music
Abbey Road was my favorite album for the longest time, until I really give Revolver a serious listen and it is now my favorite. I think both are two of the greatest, if not the two greatest rock albums in history.
If I had to guess, you don’t live too terribly far from me. Love your videos! Congrats!
The medley is my favourite I listened to it growing up mum and dad booted it out when i was 3 in the 70s.....step on the gas and wipe that tear away one sweet dream
You are a very warm personality and a pleasure to watch. I came for the Beatles and stayed for you!
Congrats & thank you for all your love for music & passing it on.
The Beatles Abbey Road Medley just might be the "Toppermost of the Poppermost!"
Just keep being happy and making us happy. That’s The Beatles spirit, right? Cheers from Brazil.
Congratulations on 100,000!
Thanks for sharing your history!
Your wife and mom are both elegantly beautiful!
I learn LOTS about The Beatles from you!
Thanks for the bio at The End! cheers brah......and Beatles Forever !!
Congratulations buddy, you completely deserve it, it's about time tbh

Dude. You’ve Had My Attention for a Long Time, now. Thank You for Diving In so Deep into OUR Favorite Band’s Works. You’re Killing It
Why the absolutely hell do you have just 113k Subs, like honestly, why, you should have more, the quality in your content is amazing. This Channel is Hella Underrated
Great segment on our host at the end...Wait for it!
Thank-You for your informative and entertaining productions.
Congrats and thanks for your amazing Beatles videos ❤ Your mother is really beautiful
Great informative video. I just have one thing to add regarding Ringo’s drum solo. From what i know he actually did not perform the solo on its own, in fact it was part of the ensemble which was the only way to get him to record a few good bits. Afterwards they took the music off and just kept his solo unaccompanied which is how they ended up with a drum solo on Abbey Road. You can hear it on the Anthology 3 version of The End in its entirety before they took the music off. Awesome content and congrats on the 100k subs.
Man, I am SO glad I stuck around for the autobiographical coda. Your "many shortcomings"? My friend, I don't see any. Your strengths are plentiful. PLEASE keep this up - your channel, your passion for the Beatles and for music and the nobler things of life. You're lifting many others with you on your journey. Cheers!
Another great video about the Beatles, thanks for that. But Also thank you for that retrospective of your life. That was well done and so fragile... We are all lost at sea... And in the end, the love.... I wish you the best and thanks again Mister HollyHobs for all those passionate videos.
Your dreams and the road of life is paved for you.Just keep walking, I know you will get there.
One of the best channels on UA-cam, great work. You deserve it man
Ringo's drum solo was based on Ron Bush's extended drum solo on In-A-Godda-Da-Vida which came out the year before, 1968.
Onward to 1 million. When I was a kid, every Tuesday, my favorite DJ would count down the top 40 songs for the week. I looked forward to that every week. Now I look forward every Tuesday to a new HollyHobs video. Your videos have meant a lot to people, especially during this time of social distancing. Thank you!
Excellently Epic. Thank you for sharing about your life, genuinely. Peace and Love always
Wow. I was caught off-guard there at the end. But most grateful for the autobiography and transparency. What a story! Thanks man. Continued success. You've got a fan in me.
Thank you for sharing you life's story. I can relate to some of it, immigrate parents, no friends, but finding our way. Our love of the Beatles, always the sound track of my life. God bless you, and great success.
Thank you for your story. Very brave of you. I hope you and your wife(?) find the peace you are seeking.
I've always found comfort I'm music from the 60s, 70s and 80s and it's hard to find people who connect with you especially when your 19 and it seems like everyone else is into everything that your not. Thank you so much for having such a love and fascination for The Beatles and for making these amazing videos. And thank you to lea robins (sorry if I spelled her name wrong) and to everyone that's made this chanel possible
"Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl
But she doesn't have a lot to say
Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl
But she changes from day to day
I want to tell her that I love her a lot
But I gotta get a bellyful of wine
Her Majesty's a pretty nice girl
Someday I'm going to make her mine, oh yeah
Someday I'm going to make her mine"
I thought her Majesty's always sounded like imagine she's a pretty nice girl I'm far off but a lot stuff with English accent does
Congratulations on 100k I’ve been watching for at least two years
This really got me. Scraping off the usual crust. Took me back to when it was new to me. Very moving enthusiasm.
You sir are an amazing artist & inspiration in your own right. Please don't ever give up!

Congratulations my man! I started watching you when I became obsessed with the Beatles music and wanted to learn more about the lads. I truly appreciate these videos as they make me and many others realize how incredible the Beatles truly were and are.

You deserve a lot of love for your loving work and I'd love to lovingly give you a little piece of that love here
What a wonderful video to celebrate 100k. Many thanks again for all your hard work.
Rock on man. Loved your story at the end. We accidents have to stick together. We Beatles lovers need to stick together. How about simply: we humans gotta stick together.

U gotta release this background music bro it's soooo good (also congrats on 100k keep rocking!!)
You have certainly helped me revisit the medley and see it in a much better light..I thank you for that! ..and a fascinating insight into your own background..you have come through it on top and seem a well adjusted guy. Kindest regards from UK
Best of luck in your future endeavors. Thanks for the the clips they're great!
Been listening to this album for 25 years and it never occurred to me until recently that side 2 is a medley. It’s so perfectly arranged and the songs all resonate profoundly. Paul’s voice on the second verse of Golden Slumbers transcends the word “awake”into a realm beyond my comprehension.
Congrats on 100k you deserved it🥳
congratulations on the 100k subscribers! I've been here ever since I became a beatles fan :)
You mentioned your MUSTANG in passing....I had a 1971 Mustang Fastback in my same early days (and marriage) and I sure wish I had it again! Just that car would be my Time Machine!!!!!
Hey Hoolyhobs, Loved your life story, thanks, I mean, we all love the Beatles but we also love real people
