OMG your tumblers are gorgeous!! At first I thought you added too much white and covered all the rich colors but then your torch did the magic and made swirls. Looks like a flowing River or sky!

Rust-oleum 2x Matt or flat clear works great for all applications and so much cheaper than the specialty sprays. This tumbler is beautiful!

Really like it! I remember a while back SCC said they had weird reactions with Krylon paints, could be same issue you are having. Just a FYI.
I remember Mike saying that, too. I personally tend to stay away from Krylon anyway because there is something in the spray paint that triggers my migraines but other brands don't... maybe it's that chemical that's causing issues because I've never had an issue with any other brands reacting to resin or my migraines. 😉
Humm, good point. Might be worth a test. Hummm a video test perhaps.

Why do you have to put any kind of sealer on them prior to laying down the resin? I’ve never done a tumbler with alcohol inks (yet) so it might be because they are alcohol inks. 🤷♀️ These are simply beautiful!!
Thanks. Some alcohol inks will shift colors or loose intensity when the resin is applied to it. I had this happen on one piece and since then I don't take a chance.

Such beautiful work. Did you paint your tumbler white 1st? If so which type of paint did you use as the base coat? The gloss spray paints never work for me. TY.

Hi Clara, I’m a newbie to the tumbler world and have watched numerous UA-cam videos on how to. Some put a sealant on before the resin like you do. But there are some that do not put a sealant on. Do you know why some do and some don’t?
Alcohol Inks can be fragile and start to fade quickly. Sealing helps prevent that. Also, I will use mica powders in my alcohol inks and they need to bond with the surface and the spray helps with that too. That is why I spray.

Are these food safe?
This particular resin is food contact safe. Meaning serve food on, but do not cut and eat off of. This tumbler will be sold with a lid and straw recommendations to use the straw. I would any resin tumblers as such.
