A sound strategy. On my last tactician run, I just blew the place up with runepowders and bombs, so it's nice to see you beat the boss legit. By the way, not sure if you're aware, but you can quickly split items by shift-clicking and dragging the item in the inventory. It will give you the same prompt of how many items to split just without the right click step. Act 3 awaits!

Wild to see a clean run of this to compare against my first solo honour clear. Ended the fight with cull the weak procced by psionic backlash against finger of death while I had 20 health. Couldn’t have cut it any closer.
Wow that’s a crazy end to the fight. I’ve had one run ended by finger of death 💀. It’s so cool with killing enemies like you described, just feels great 😊

@@Chonus I try to stack as many inspirations as possible for it. Since you can’t cast Guidance without triggering her legendary action you unfortunately got to get lucky. Might be some items that could help with the roll too but I can’t think of any right now
Very satisfying fight. 👍 Especially forcing Myrkul to drop his scythe 😂. "I am the Lord Of The Bones" --- "Here's a level 1 spell to disarm you" 🤣 Always love how mobs run into aoe fields - placing the wall of fire at the entry points of the nets was a very smooth move. Climb up - and burn 👍 BTW: Scorching rays seems to benefit after the first hit, so if you upcast it and one of the first rays hit, you gain acuity for the remaining rays.

I was a bit worried that the wall of fire would not be enough to finish them but it worked quite well =) That's a good piece of info, I thought I'd get 100% from that but didn't get exactly there. Thankfully high enough though!

Even potential tips and tricks to help us complete it. Either way, I would potentially pin the link to ur discord in the comments on ur next video just to see what happens.
really enjoying your videos and especially the honour mode run as necromancer. however, I haven't managed to leave act 1 yet myself and don't wanna spoil me. means I'm going to put them on hold until I reach the places myself but even in the early parts of your journey I could already discover quite a lot of differences in approach, attitude of NPCs, tactics and other aspects of the game which helps me in my own journey as I progress towards the finale. the recent patch #7 seems to have changed some of the boss fights considerably and might force you to rethink approaches and tactics as a solo player. what is your take on the patch and its changes to the game?
Thank you, happy to hear! I 100% understand that you want to keep the spoilers far away from you. Regarding the new patch I only know about the bulette being bit of a pain as well as a certain ambush in act 2, so I don't know much about it besides that. I will most likely run into some nasty surprises next time I'm playing through it. Overall I'm very happy that they are adding more legendary actions and such! What party are you running with?
@@FriendlyLich love the wizard class (did mix in a pinch of sorcerer with my second char). seems I'm bad at playing BG3 in one go as I keep starting with a new char and figuring out which one might suit me best to actually finish the game. my first attempt was(is) with three companions; the same with the 2nd but inspired by your videos I started a run with a solo character and even choose 'Dark Urge' to get a taste of the changes in the game and find out what is behind all that. however, since I don't know the game even remotely good enough to attempt honour mode (let alone solo), this solo run is just on Tactician level with a gyth wizard. 🤭
@@embreis2257 Same here, I love wizards! Oh you're in for a treat with the Dark Urge, it's fantastic and imo the best story! Playing solo is a great way to learn, but if you haven't played through it the origin characters got a lot of fun stuff to find out about as well :). Hope the game brings you a lot of joy!
@@FriendlyLich thanks. yes, the game is lots of fun. so much so that my MMO friends in GW2 complain about me deserting them. with some luck they might try out BG3 too and we can have multi-player runs, maybe even attempting role-playing. 🤞

I'm working on a build video, but I can provide an overview of the stats. The gear is at the end of the video. Starting stats: str 8 dex 16 con 14 wis 10 int 17 chr 8 Auntie Ethels boon into +1 int dual wielder feat at 4 intelligence asi at 8 For this fight at Myrkul I had Shar's blessing (gauntlet of shar, gives resistance necrotic) and the +stat buffs from beneath statue at Town Square Hope this helps!
I'm honestly really surprised you can do it with this build. I love doing solo honor runs but Myrkul is such a high difficulty spike, it usually ends my run if I'm using a mediocre fun build.
Myrkul's a tough fight for sure. A good opener is so very important to handle him. I found him quite easy with blind and disarm hitting early on though :).
@@FriendlyLich I did it with most classes, the strongest builds make it pretty easy (Fighter bow, monk, bard rogue crossbow, storm sorcerer, paladin warlock or paladin sorcerer, warlock sorcerer, light cleric etc) I usually struggle with moon druid, necro wizard and assassin builds (every boss has alert lol). That's how I end up on your channel, curious how you deal with this fucker ahah
@@xReifox That’s an impressive amount of completed runs regardless of builds! A lot can go wrong! Glad that you found my channel, there’s a few more cool (imo) fights and tricks coming with the necromancer :)
It does lower his damage output quite a lot. It's usually not that easy to hit him with spells, I had 6 stacks of arcane acuity and the equipment is optimized to raise the save dc on my spells. Oh yea also had the +intelligence buff from the statue in the Town Square :)
The Flying Ghouls are from upcasted Animate Dead (spell), then there's Conjure Elemental (spell) and finally a story companion called 'Us'. The spells are just spells you get from leveling up but Us you first need to rescue at the intro of the game and then in the area before this boss fight (in one of the 1-2 videos before this one).
It went very smooth this time, thankfully! The amulet make Myrkul weak (double damage) to piercing/slashing/bludgeon for a few turns. Let me know if that translated well.
I got a bit confused and checked other videos of him and he's red there too. Maybe it's how the light falls on him? It's a bit weird now that you mention it

There's a temporary +5 int buff you can get until next Long Rest in Act 2. It's beneath the statue of the Town Square.
