As a diehard nascar fan I am blown away by how in depth, high detail, and consice you explained nearly everything you need to know about nascar in 1 video... While showing what the race atmosphere is like! I've grown up with this sport and was so excited to have this video recommended to me. I can honestly say it's better than what most nascar content is for new viewers and I for sure will share this with people that want to get into watching nascar.

It truly is incredible to witness in person. From the ovals at Daytona, to the Triangle in the Pocono's, out to the road course in Sonoma or Watkins Glen. Back to the high banking monster in Talladega, to the short track in Bristol Tennessee..., there really is nothing like it anywhere in the world. If you have the chance, head to an event before you leave this world.

This is a great way to give people outside the US a taste of the sport of NASCAR. I'm 39 and have been a fan since I was 5. I've been to 1/2 a dozen races at Michigan International Speedway and to a qualifying day at Indy for what used to be the Brickyard 400. I've seen a lot of changes, some not well received, but they've been slowly moving back in the right direction recently. I believe those fans of other series that aren't familar or perhaps don't have the context necessary to respect NASCAR could gain a lot from these type sof videos. Thanks for making this!

As a person who is apart of a family of nascar fans including myself, I want to thank you for making this video for people who are looking at this sport from the outside in. Us, the Nascar fans are extremely passionate for our favorite drivers. For a lot of us going to see these races is a family tradition, or even a gathering of friends who haven't seen in awhile. Everyone no matter where they are from, or their skin color everyone is welcomed here's. It is a complete other culture that you see at theses events. Even though we as fans don't know each other but when we all come together to watch nascar in person we are a family. I have personally have gone to three nascar races and I can genuinely tell anyone that on the day of the race I am at my most happiness tailgating and waiting to be let into the grandstands. If you do decide to come see another race here in America I suggest going to these two races.
    1. Bristol. Specifically the Bristol night race. The night race is one of the only two races scheduled in nascar that happens at night. The race track is one of the oldest tracks that nascar still races on. It is known for the crashes, the drama, and the fights that happen there.
    2. The Coca-Cola 600 in Charlotte motor speedway. This race other race on nascar that happens at night. This race is also the longest race that happens in nascar. It is 600 miles and 400 laps. The length for Europeans who see this comment is 2.5 km. This race is the only one that has four stages. Each stage is 100 hundred laps. This race happens in memorial day weekend for America and lines up with the Monaco Grand Prix, and for F1 The Indy 500. Even the race happens on Sunday, the actual partying starts a week before with the all star race. The all star is a race that happens always on the weekend before memorial day weekend. This specific race is also a night race and isn't about getting competition point, its more about bragging rights and 1 million dollars. The all star race events begins in the evening at 6pm where the first race happens. That race is the all star opening which is for some the others driver is their last chance to qualify for the main race. The main all star race consists of 21 drivers who are seen as the best in nascar. The atmosphere during this race is different from any other race parties held by nascar.

I've never been to the Daytona 500, but I watch it almost every year and I have been to America's (and the world's) other biggest race, the Indianapolis 500. 300,000 people in and around another enormous superspeedway, similar or even higher levels of pomp and festivity. I've always wanted to go to the Daytona 500 as well, and if you ever get the chance you should see the Indy 500 too.

The idea of NASCAR and stock car racing in general was invented in North Carolina from moonshiners running from the law but saw its rise to fame after the races in Daytona. Thanks for the in-depth review of NASCAR from a outsiders perspective.

I'm so glad you loved your experience here in our country, F1 may not be my favorite but I do actually some what enjoy it but yes nascar is so so SO much more than just a left turn only kind of race. KEEP IT UP MAN hopefully you come back for some more races 😎💯

As someone who grew up watching some Nascar here and there and recently got back into it, I love this documentary. This shows what Nascar is like, even comparing it to other racing styles, allowing people to understand differences between them. Nascar is also something that Americans can unite over and love in general because it doesn't matter who you root for, in the end, everyone is a winner because they all did their best.

Thanks for making this wonderful video. I really enjoyed it. It reminds me of why I loved NASCAR.
I was really struck by your reaction to the pre-race rituals, especially the national anthem and the flyover. As an American, I never realized that other countries don't have that. The fact that the national anthem is played at every sporting event from the high school level up really serves to remind us where we came from. Every stops and listens, and for that moment everyone is together. Its something really special.

This was so well produced I am baffled. I've always watched NASCAR try to get explained to those who aren't familiar with it and it just never gets communicated right. This. This right here. Is now the video I will tell people to watch. You did a fantastic job, thank you for this!

I knew everything you covered beforehand, but the joy it brought to you to experience something with such raw excitement made me feel like I was learning something new with you. There are so many tracks in NASCAR with rich history and I hope you have many more opportunities to get to other NASCAR races! Incredible video!!

see this is the type of car culture and enthusiast i like. instead of just going along with the norm of hating on nascar he took the time to dive deep into it all and was suprised from what he learned. i will say i never was into nascar but i also had no idea how deep it went. i love that we can come together all enjoy motor sports. at the end of the day we all are here because we love cars everyone has different preferences but we all can sit down and just kick it talking passionately about we love.

Rain delays are funny, I remember they had one team, (interviewer, cameraman, soundman) roaming among the coaches (RVs) asking random questions of anybody who would stand still to be asked, just to fill time. These coaches are where the drivers were waiting it out. Driver Michael Waltrip invited the wandering band inside out of the rain, let them sit down and get comfy, then took the interviewer's headset and microphone, and started to interview the interviewer, reversing the roles. NASCAR drivers are usually among the most accessible athletes around, they talk to people a lot, media and fans alike, but when there's nothing to do, they get bored like anybody else.

I used to be part of the crowd thinking that Nascar was so easy because its just turning left. Then I did research and started to see how tough it really was. the strategy for tires and the drafting as well as the amount of looseness each driver wants really allowed me to gain respect and enjoy the sport. It is just a different kind of racing that is just as tough as anything else.

F1 could learn SO much from NASCAR when it comes to fan interactions. It's really quite sad because F1 is so interesting as a sport but FOM and Liberty Media make it incredibly INaccessible to fans, whereas NASCAR realized long ago that the best way to promote the races is to let the fans get as close as possible to the action, both physically and virtually.

Thanks for this! Grew up around stock car racing and this had me in my feelings. As a first timer to american stock car racing you noticed all there is to love about it and put it into words nicely. I wish more of nascar's own could advocate for the sport this well. It's hard for us to appreciate it like you do when none of it is new for us long time fans. It's easy for us to become more focused on new changes and details we dislike than the big picture, as you see it. Great video, reminds me why I love our flavor of motorsport so much.
Also, your legends content is by far the best out there. As someone who plans to buy one and start racing them, I really hope you keep it up. If you could get your mechanics to help you make some videos about setting up/adjusting/maintaining the car, that would be the absolute best. Thanks again!
