I can't stress how insanely important your videos are to maintaining the memories and childhoods of so many people. Your content is so high quality that you deserve so many more subs.
Probably the most underrated time for this game, beyond all the WILD bugs and broken things in-game to the point of LITERALLY having accounts locked out due to "already being logged on" while not being logged on at all (during the Aqua road release) This game was probably MOST known for the communities tight knit and THOROUGHLY enjoyable playing experience from Boss fights to PQ's It was never truly the same after Big Bang. The only people who ask "Why do people even miss that version of maple" don't understand why it was good in the first place, or just DIDN'T play in those days, bottom line.
i think its because the game was developed with the mindset of "partying up is more overall exp" when they did away with that they killed the entire community of this game, i wish they would bring it back because the solo play is so draining and boring.
@@DefeatLust This is the reason why the private server scene sees the same people over and over and over and over again. 😂 It can't be recreated and people fiend for the good ol' days... Most p servers today always tack on "nostalgia" as a gimmick marketing device to win people's attention on GTop.
The amount of knowledge you share, connects so many dots for me! And the editing, the slow and human pace of the video! makes it so pleasureable! I love you man! Waiting for the next videos about OSMS
As someone who managed to reach hermit pre-big bang, I always saw the replacement of Avenger with gust charm and shuriken burst, while a much more convenient set of MUCH earlier aoe options for assassin, as an insult to all my hard work. I don't care that it took longer to wind up and throw, or that it could only be thrown horizontally, it was the far cooler option to form and throw a gigantic throwing star to just buzzsaw through enemies.
omg you actually took my clip from my old maple video on my channel. Its me mrshiniko1 at 0:23 Im honored to be in your video! and thanks for leaving my channel logo in the top right corner
honestly this is some of the highest quality maplestory content ive seen so far, hats off to you. as a maplestory content creator myself i think i can learn a lot from you. i hope to see a video like this for more of the Beta classes. keep up to great work man!
As someone who recently recreated the "Cursing is not allowed" popup by hand, please leave your MapleStory videos up. The only thing that made that possible were two old MapleStory videos that contained the popup, and even then they were so deep fried from age that the details were wildly unclear. I used two different screenshots because they each had different levels of compression. Made different details stand out. My point is, with the loss of BasilMarket, a lot of old Maple content is lost. Most of it is in these old videos on UA-cam now.
You should receive some kind of history medal for those videos. The amount of work is insane. And i’m in tears from the nostalgia in every single video.
Disorder actually has a secondary effect that a lot of people forget to mention. It can de-agro enemies, even if the attack doesn't hit. I'm not proud of it, but there were a few times training on Pig Beach where I would coax the Iron Hog into people clogging up the bottom of the map, they would change channels to avoid the hog, and I'd use Disorder a few times to de-agro the hog and get back to grinding.
A little more fun fact: Sindit (or assasin-bandit) was a thing because lucky7 is just so much better than doublestab, people will use lucky7 until they max their savage blow. Meba was one of the best claw for dexless before the introduction of maple weapons also because of its low requirement of 50 dex. Even on low budget, people will get bathrobe and buy 100% scrolls for dex to hit 35 dex. Brown bamboo to 38. From here you either add 12 points to dex or buy earrings/capes. Getting the 100% wa on meba is also extremely valuable. WA on claws just scale so much higher than other weapons. A +7 WA on meba is as good as a lvl40 claw, not to mention its super cheap to build, cause all these scrolls are available from NPC
To be honest? Avenger had what was probably the most satisfying attack sound in the game, at the time. The "SHING-THMP-THUP" right before you mow down a group of enemies was pure dopamine.
Thank you so much for putting this much time, care and love into your videos. Every month or so I get an irresistible urge to revisit Maple, so I download a private server, play for a few days and then life gets in the way. It’s like I’m always chasing that same unreachable high of being a kid again when Maple felt so new and we were all experiencing it together for the first time. The only thing that comes close to recapturing that same deep love for the game are your videos, and I can’t quite thank you enough for handling something so special to me with such attention to detail.
It's impossible to ignore that ANY of this information given is BEYOND obsolete, but it's just for the sake of Nostalgia that this video is truly respectable & something I cherish as a childhood memory.
Whoa the random throwback to Trickster Online too?? Remember when that was being advertised as "Simply better than maplestory"? I recall several of my friends quitting in anticipation of Trickster coming out... only to end up coming back a few months later.
I played maplestory alot in 2007-2009 but was never able to get a class passed level 50. Seeing these videos makes me wish I had this ingame knowledge to be able to get to 3rd job and beyond pre bigbang.
lol… I remember paying a guild for a zhelm when reaching 50. Because it was untradeable, you had to literally give them your account credentials so that they would go with your character to the altar and pick one after the guild killing zakum. After this you had to change the credentials of course. Good times. The guild was UndiePatrol
These docuseries really struck a chord in my nostalgia. Honestly it's what we had done back then being a new player and all, remembering it via a video form instead just black and white memories from my neurons really brought me back to the old days and almost made me cry. Thanks, bro.
Togain, another beautiful video to regale in the glory days!!! You mentioning the limited availability of the VIP weapons reminded me of how upset the community was that you needed the perfect login streak for that incredible/BIS 1h BW lunchbox around the same time period!
Man, you almost made me break my neck when you started going that night lords had Sharp Eyes, i was like "i do NOT remember that!" And man, i hope you cover dragon knights at somepoint. they were THE showoff class but their skill builds were very divided among the community at first. and also another of the classes that had washing as one of their mechanics this was a whole trip down memory lane. excellent video.
Thanks. I miss those days. Being in a mmo that’s like its own world populated with its own communities not mostly in their Discord all the time. The game was such an experience. I feel it is only somewhat still is like that in some private servers. I hope an mmo can achieve it one day again. Very nice editing
Just finished watching the entire video. Its very cool watching the history of maple cleanly presented. Especially because at the time I was just a kid, and honestly just didn't understand a lot of the game. All vibes no strategy tbh. Its crazy to think that during those times a lot of information was transferred through in game chat. Nowadays you can just look up the most optimal strat on google and find an answer. I miss those times. If they released an old school server it wouldnt be the same because of how social interactions online have become, but im sure it would be a heck of a lot better than anything I play today.
I just tried downloading and logging into GMS today after the nostalgia hit so hard after watching your documentaries, and was immediately overwhelmed by the dozens of named hero classes. I couldn't push past the cognitive dissonance involved. I think I'll stick with the fond memories.
Your Maplestory videos are amazing. Please continue with all your OSMS vids. I just binge watched your bishop, NL, and DK vids and they are EXCELLENT. So well done, so much nostalgia. I can’t wait to watch more of your vids and look forward to new ones you’ll make.
In my country's long-closed server, Maple Throwing Stars were obtained from Gachapon. I miss those times so much. I played as a Night Lord up to level 164, equipped with a Dexless armor + Black Mamba, hitting 30K damage per hit. 15:26 You need to increase your Mastery level to level 5 in order to upgrade your Booster, and everyone in the Old School era will stop at level 11 because they will receive +2 ATK Speed at this level. Then, gather points to upgrade other skills first.
Incredibly fantastic editing and narration. OSMS will forever have a place in my heart with these videos revealing to me just how much I didn't know about the game back when I was a kid just playing to have fun with friends.
This was a trip down memory lane. I knew everything you were talking about but just hearing about it again allowed me to relive the nostalgia albeit temporarily. Thank you, good sir.
Great video. I used to grind MS all day while listening to youtube videos in the background and this is the class I would play cause I thought it was the coolest. A correction, the headless horseman was available in a separate map than the one shown, idk the name but it had several leprechauns (i think 5) on it and was entirely flat. It was a hidden map. It wasnt very populated because I dont think many people knew about it, but that made it super easy to farm headless through all channels making the down time roughly negligible when I first started killing him, to when I could kill him in only a few seconds. I did this as nightlord, but im pretty sure he was on farm even before that came out as I remember the launch of crimson wood and then the castle later.
